What's with all the negative comments? A lot of Dubliners fanboys don't like anyone else covering the same material, even if Simon and Garfunkel sang it first. The Sun is Burning sounds so sweet and peaceful. It took me about five to ten repeats to hear how early in the song they transition from a peaceful sunset to something that rises instead, the thing we still fear, forty five years after the song was written, the bright flash, and the mushroom cloud. i really like this song..what yours?. You know whats nuts? I listened to this song so many times, very often. I'd listen to the Simon & Garfunkel Old Friends box set. I'd sing along to this beautiful song, all the while just half-paying attention to the words and not "listening" to them. Then one day I paid particular attention to the last stanza, and I was like "omg! i've been singing about a nuke this whole time! what a happy song!" hah. I don't think that ever quite happened to me with another song.
