  • Very neat show, but "Greatest Samurai Form"? I seriously down the generations of Samurai taught tossing your sword around....just sayin'. Entertaining though.

  • I`m happy because Musashi is not alive to see this shit.

  • wannabe used flail

  • im pretty sure samurai never fought like this?

  • @ninjawaterboy noooooooooooooo u think?

  • catholic ?

  • This shows he has no respect for the katana, I can't believe people think this is what sword fight is about. So sad:(

  • and that guy in yellow is anis cheurfa, who was playing RINZLER in the new TRON movie. just saying.

  • haha yea, i can be seen in this video in the background. Well who cares. But still - i was there. I am on the left of this red shirt guy :D

  • what if he swung the sword and it slip out of his hand.....= where ever the sword points...somebody going to get srsly hurt lol

  • Embarrassing to real martial artists...

  • Oh my, the likes and dislikes is tied... 291 on each side... Which to pick... Like!

  • Just a show for the mob. Its not an art, but impressive fluorishing(kids do not try this at home)

  • 291 wants to be slash by a samurai

  • nice pants

  • ISN'T MARTIAL ARTS DANCE. For all da stupid people who think Martial Arts is equal to fighting, don't know a shit. Art is any type of expression. We, the real martial artists use a lot of ways to express our art. OF COURSE, we know about fighting, and if we need to protect ourself, we will not use a weapon like this. Those FORMS are for competing and show our skills (repeat MARTIAL ARTS isn't FIghTINg ONLY) SO gO and throw punches to the heavy bag coz u KNOW A ShIT about MARTIAL ARTS...

  • @alrom4hn Sorry, but I am a real martial artist--black belt in karate and testing for black belt in battodo (samurai sword) next month--and this is not martial arts. I see no spirit of budo in this display, and it is essentially a dazzling dance exhibition for non-martial artists.

  • A real american idiot !

  • Jedi...

  • Pedophile Scumbag.

  • Its not a Real Live Katana Blade, Its a dull Iaito training Sword and give respect to Johnathon for the many years of hard work and practice to compete in this XMA competition. The Dude was Ranked #1 in the world in this event for many years until he left the seen. A Real Katana Master is Japanese MA, Fumon Tanaka. He is deadly with just about all forms of Japanese Samurai Weaponry, Watch a few of his Video's.

  • @Mvjs67 Lol..I think any average run of the mill shinkendo practitioner could take him out

  • gaaaay

  • i was kinda hate it when people started to compare this with real battle. there is obviously no way a swordsman will let go or throwing away their sword. this is just a dance, meant to entertain your eyes with stunning reflex and agility. so stop acting like you've been on real battle before and posting annoying comments.

but thanks, for your sincerity. really

  • Yea I dont care how good he is, I wouldv been that guy watching from behind a door or sumthing cuz im sure you ppl can see the worst happening when it slips from his hand.

  • They should have cast him in star wars...

  • Silly people cheer when foolish man lets sword leave his hand. All I want to do is pluck it from the air and cut downward - Once.

  • Very nice martial dance...very entertaining

  • @MrCybergnosis u are a gandu ass hole..

  • the move is practical if you need both your hands to distance yourself from the opponent so as to use the weapon

  • ure a disgrace to the katana.

  • I like how there are all these comments on here saying how "impractical" it is, and how it'd never work in a real fight - as though people still fight with swords in real life, hah.

  • What if he let go.....

  • whats the name of the backgroun music ?

  • if the music was actually on the place i would kill them all. hes a shame for all the martial artist, hes just a clown in a circus with all the stupid mokeys arround the tatami screaming

  • Our god the sword god is truly Awesome :-P

  • If he had only sneezed when throwing that stick...

  • Yup people your right he sucks!

That's why he was on the top martial arts team in the world...

  • what a f......ing bighead,

  • This guy has great skills with that thing and would have little difficulty putting most of the haters to shame if they dared. I only question the safety of the bystanders. Even if the sword is blunt the wieght would be enough to take an eye out at least if he sliped up and let it go.

  • @tomosala Incorrect no human being can swing a 3-4 pound real live Katana that fast what you are looking at in this video is called an XMA or Demo Katana they only weigh a few ounces instead of pounds and are made or aircraft grade aluminum i have personally been hit by a stray one of these at a tournament and also own and compete with one i can assure you they a duller than your house hold kitchen butter knife i wasn't even cut by the one that hit me.

  • its a just popstar

  • Its not a samurai, Samurai never use the sword in this way, its disrespectful.

  • Honestly, he look more like a Maori warrior than a Japanese swordsmen.

  • ridiculous, only people who don't know a thing about iaido or any other martial art involved with katanas can like this

  • Wobbly katana?

  • I hope he doesnt let go of that sword in a real fight cuz if faced a real samurai, he would get pissed and shitted on.

  • these moves and throws look cool, but in combat they are ridick.

i would also say its more like dancing, seeing how the moves seem to be cued up with the rythm of the background music

  • Circus ....

  • Very sad reality of current main stream "martial arts" circus... An act being imitated all over US and Europe under the guise of real Budo...

  • what a drama queen

  • Booooooooooo!!! That's just horrible..

  • ooh he christian to? our god is an awesome god etc song, maybe just to show off

  • those moves are as usefull as a fake bullet on my ass cheek.

  • is he india >.>? im not racist but just asking

  • @darkchamp777 i doubt hes a country, more likely an indian though

  • Showing off is the fool's idea of glory.

  • this is circus not samurai

  • Nope team paul mitchel

    And hes not gay...

  • this gay guy belong to team PMS?

  • It looks great but what if that sword slips or snaps with all those people near? Everyone makes a mistake once in a while. Could be a real mess even if that blade isn't sharp. Maybe put these dancers in a plex glass box.

  • You people are fucking retarded! This is a musical form! A division to display skill and creativity with the weapon.

Stop hating! He wouldnt have been on team pm (the top ranked team in the world) if he sucked.

  • you managed to turn something very badass into something very gay...after you throw your sword in the air i'd stab you 10 times with an icepick while you wait for it to fall back in your hand...

  • wow... that was pretty good lol wasn't expecting that at all. Good show :)

  • Ladies and Gentlemen...

The Justin Bieber of Japanese Sworsmanship.

  • sweet baton tossing

  • for everyone who says "hes not real samurai" uhhhh der wtf do u think ? u think this is the shogun era or sumthin??! hes JUST a freakin performer

  • Oh what the hell... another one with the same over-the-top baboon... I honestly don't see how he has the "Greatest Samurai Form", for that matter, I'd say it is the most energy consuming, if anything.

  • what a clownnn.lol Hes suppose to be a samurai yet he blessd himself with the cross he needs a reallity check.lol

  • What the hell is with all these wasted movements? I true Samurai uses the mininum amount of moves to defeat another person. This is just a bunch of noncense moves like some thing u would see in some movie!

  • @Gokudo13

    Entertainment, entertainment.

  • @Gokudo13 almost like its what your supposed to do huh? and i beet you all the money in my pocket this guy can take you out in one to two moves easily, all these moves and flashyness is because its tournament style performing, hes putting on a show.. dont like it? dont watch tournament style competition things then, problem solved

  • @thewearywarrior I am not saying I am the greatest swordsman on the planet, but he can't stop a round from my .45. lol

  • @Gokudo13 actually its been proven that a katana can slice a bullet in half

  • @kekoaww Yeah the bullet will break but the katana will also be damaged by the impact.

  • @Gokudo13 yeah but this kata isnt to say " i can stop stuff" or anything like that, its strickly for show and a gun to a knife fight is just unfair, this is to show how long hes worked at something that takes a long time to master, try to make your own kata sometime, you'll find its actually pretty fun

  • das is sowas von behindert was der da macht xD

  • this is pussy shows for white kids it's not even close to martial art

  • Comment removed

  • He's very good at all.

But this is not kendo ou kenjitso.

  • not really...

  • Two words. Tetsuzan Kuroda Two more words. Haga Junichi If you want to talk about "greatest samurai form" you need to check them out before you call this juggler a swordsman.

  • @1deepstar Yeah but this guy's a pretty good juggler.

  • @voslyn should be in a circus.... those of us who take these practices seriously don't enjoy these kinds of spectacles... its inappropriate on many levels and is not at all indicative of any skill with the weapon. Again, youtube Tetsuzan Kuroda or Haga Junichi and ask yourselves if they would allow themselves to be caught dead behaving this way....

  • @1deepstar I've watched a couple of Kuroda vids. Agreed, he is awesome.

  • If any Samurai from back in Feudal Japan could look into the future and see this, they would commit seppuku on the spot.

  • Lucky for him, the sword is not sharp.

Next on his agenda should be, go to Japan, study kenjuitsu for a real master and grow up... Complete abuse of an elegant weapon

  • he could mix the knife technique with katana technique.thats a wow for me.

  • you rack disaprine

  • Sword Dancing with the Stars. 'Might as well have been holding a cheerleader's baton. I don't see anything that will help me survive 5 seconds with an iaijutsu master or a Tai Chi Swordsman. Entertaining show though, judging from the cheers of the audience who are non the wiser.

  • I would be more impressed with this if it were done in silence, with no death screams and pounding music....and that's saying something because I love slayer!

  • I have one thing to say to all the haters... You honestly call your self a martial artist and act this way twards other styles? Regardless your rank you must go back and learn what the martial arts is all about.

  • @albinoninja39 Totally agree with you!!! finally someone who knows about material arts

  • @albinoninja39 : That's implying this is a martial art. Martial means WAR. This is DANCING.

  • @Halofreakanoid - To handle a sword like that implicates that your skills are good enough to fight with it..

  • @jabouland : No, no he's not. You can twirl a sword around all you want, but anyone with actual skill could simply brush him aside like he is nothing. I see plenty of people twirl spears around and do all kinds of "kenjutsu-like" things but as soon as they get into a real fight with it they don't know what to do. They didn't practice all the time on how to block, parry, do a proper cut, or evade from being cut, they practiced on how to twirl a stick around.

  • @jabouland Ballet dancers: deadliest of the deadly.

  • Fucking yank bastards!

  • @mrmurdahlic his sword skills are to impress audiences that don't understand what the purpose of a sword is. the greatest samurai form is the one that uses the sword for what it is intended to do, and to do it correctly.

this guy single-handedly sacrifices all possible swordmanship for nothing but showmanship.

one perfect strike that cleans through a tatami mat, is greater than all the ridiculous stuff on display in this video.

when a baton twirler can do it, you're not a swordsman.

  • gay

  • horrible martial arts....the wushu of the samurai arts.... he took the practical fighting out of the whole form.

  • @mrmurdahlic the point is that it's an interesting form, not a great one. it's flashy, not traditional. I thought that, minus the screeming, it was a cool display of skill.

p.s. your comment about snlkLee's parents was kinda dumb.

  • @mrmurdahlic Wtf kind of argument is that? I have no respect for my parents? You dont know me dude. I love my parents. They are two amazing people. Why do people like you find it necessary to insult someone in a way that they have no possible clue? Stupid fuck. He's an entertainer ya no shit. But this martial art should be about something deeper.

  • Funny how this guy got into jail. I forgot how.

  • wtf this is not samurai at all go search up some videos of Mugai Ryu Iaihyodo or some random iaido they will all be more "samurai" than this crap

  • this is a disgrace to the art...

  • (sigh) Americans...........

  • ok for all who think this is sh** . 1. ok this is no traditional samurai form 2. this is a great performance of speed and control. 3. this is just a martial arts show to impress people. 4. take your swoard and try to move it this fast, and kick around and throw it in the air without cutting your ears off.

  • aww man this is the best! you guys just dont understand! he has developed a form for killing a bird (the first throw) and then a fuck tone of mosquitoes. of cause such an amazing and powerful form can only be accomplished after a solid 52 seconds of walking around like a twat, and drawing the symbol of an imputent god on your chest.

  • what a knob

  • sorry but how you suppose to say thats a samurai form??? check out some iaido videos and learn how is the real bushido.

  • This is the shittiest thing I've seen in my whole life

  • He really knows how to let the style of the sword combine with the speed of his strength flow into the technique he uses....marvolous to watch....my only curiousity is if he can really bare his fangs in a fight

  • white trash american bullshit

  • Everyone that is trolling this vid has never studied a sword form. When I studied, the full form was against 100 men, so I was always turning to strike. But that is only for the new enemy, because the old guy is in half.

  • Amen lonewulf! And its bull that people rip on diff styles and get beat in a real sword fight? When would tht happen i personaly dont carry a sword on my side incase i get attacked? A sword fight wouldnt happen. Forms are there to display tallent. He isnt competing in self defence its. 29 and older musical forms dumbass! Its creative.

  • Shut up hes good at sword and who gives a crap if he throws? Its badass! Martial arts is growing and changing get used to it

  • This martial art is not a circus

  • I'm sorry, it was certainly not a bad XMA form. but anything XMA can never be considered a Kata that a samurai would perform. The sword is meant to cut, not to be thrown and spun around like a baton.

  • after the video cuts out, he falls to peices

  • Comment removed

  • but i think you are also pissed off at bruce lee, jacky chan, and jet lee. i only wanted to name the masters that i know you know instead of american masters. If you were a real warrior, you would never think of yourself as a lone wolf.

  • @lonewulf2009

now for some one that said "I defend traditional Martial Arts. Traditional Martial Arts were never developed for entertainment." The sholin munks put on yearly street shows to try and get new students. if you would learn from a real master, or at least research things instead of listening to every piece of crap that comes out of your masters ass, you would know that. and the reason for tournaments like this one is to try and draw in new students (normally). It is a bit flashy,

  • All you haters know nothing about competition. This is just for show. For him to be able to have the control over his mind, body, and blade, it shows just how skilled he is in his form. Plus everyone that is bad mouthing this guy cant do jack with a real katana

  • as if being a pedophile and making a mockery of swordsmanship wasn't enough, he also has to wear the ugliest hakama he could find

  • alot of haters here.... is this vid really so insulting .... its made to look impressive for the judges and us. oh well :D

  • All I can see are his pants.....

  • Why is this BS? Times he would have been sliced open: 9 times 0:52 Unguarded "intimidation" 0:53 Give the back to the opponent 0:55 Throw sword 0:58 Unguarded stance/"intimidation" 1:02 Give the arm to be sliced 1:09 Throw sword... again 1:21 Throw sword... again 1:26 Throw sword... third time *sigh 1:31 Lamest finish stance. No need, he would already be dead. In REAL katas, one never, ever gives openings to an opponent. Give him a baton and pompoms instead.
  • Comment removed

  • how bout greatest pedophile ever? Seriously look this guy up he fuckin molested his students, his names jon boyd.

  • fake and gay but AWESOME

  • he certainly cannot fight like a samurai, so this doesn't deserve the title as samurai form, although his tricks are impressive and entertaining.

  • Facsinating ... I have never heard music cue up in any of my battles.

    Truely amazing.

  • impress judges?! only if he was at a chinese wushu form competition, not even close to a japanese martial arts contest. oh and what a terrible Kiai, squealing like a pig. kiai is supposed to show power not anger! it's not a squeal, it is a powerful way to inspire awe and respect.

  • Do judges actually give points for tossing a sword? Every time the sword leaves his hands, he should lose points!

  • samurai were not retarded and pretentious acrobats

  • he is not doing proper slashes at all, to do a peroper slash, you have to make sure it is penpenticular towards the angle plane you are cutting at

  • This dude dosen't know one thing about Iaido.. what a piee of crap performance..

  • Not samurai!! just like a fake korean dance...

  • Okay... Well that sucks that he's a fuckin' child molester. What a fucking bastard. Hate on him all you want for that, as I do now, but still, hating his katana form just makes y'all look jelly of a child molester. Lol

  • Plus there's something else you simps don't realize. Not all samurai were wealthy. Not all who wielded the katana were called Samurai, they were Ronin. To earn money to pay for boat fare across rivers and to other islands, they would exploit impractical katas as exhibition to perform in the streets for money. Some might not work in real fights, but it looks impressive as hell. Just wtf is wrong with you haters? You trollin' or just that stupid?

  • @UrbanMusashi finally someone isn't shit talking! are people jealous or do they fail to realize that what he does is for a competition!!?? anywho, thank you for having sense!!

  • @Acrazedpyro ok... A competition in what?

  • @GhostXDog in minding his own business....lol... kidding... clearly he is at a competition of some sort...

  • @UrbanMusashi "they would exploit impractical katas as exhibition to perform in the streets for money. " Citation for that?

  • Except for twirling it in the air, all his moves are up to par with real swordplay. Plus take into account his speed and reaction time, this guy has the potential to claim the lives of real samurai and most of todays formal practitioners of swordplay because they practice technique in slow-motion and never use a suburito for strength and conditioning to apply their techniques at such a fast pace. You want his head cut off? Why don't you pussies go try it yourself.

  • Bloody Americans!!!!

  • Bloody Americans!!!!

  • false

  • Someone please get a live blade n cut this idiot head off for disgracing the Samurai!

  • ちょwww

  • A good Stun man at best... how can you call this garbage "greatest Samurai form"... The real Samurai masters probably came back from the dead and perform Seppuku (Harakiri) in disapprove of this clown...

  • @jaserart well, aren't you clever!

  • Unbelievable!!!!

  • Hahahahahahaha... When I grow up I'll be samurai!!

I believe he would like to be samurai (like Isao Machii for example)... The fact is that the dream never come true for this, hmm... clown. He's just a character from cartoons, but who knows, if he add a couple of backflips in hes "form" he will be ready to become a dangerous teenage mutant ninja turtle and maybe then he can make success somewhere in the circus or in hong-kong-ping-pong movies... lol

  • thats not a samurai form, thats just a piece of shit ;-)

sorry but if you practice real japanese martial arts, this would be fuckin unrespectfully

  • As soon as I saw the ridiculous hakama, I knew I didn't need to watch any more of this LARPer XMA bollocks. Please remove the "samurai" tag, as this is not samurai.

  • i am really really worry about his katana will accidentally fly into the crowded, fortunately it didn't happen

  • XMA sucks... only good for movie and stupid competitions....

  • Oh no.

I was expecting some true style japanese performance and not a whitey- action-movie retard.

  • @radopunk its called a creative sword for a reason, its meant to show control of the weapon and creativity, not a real life situation.... amatuer

  • @radopunk

the best traditional katana form masters are korean and practitioners of haidong gumdo.

i agree with what you said though, this is an insult to asian culture, and only stupid americans would find this interesting and noteworthy.

  • @radopunk Regardless of whether or not it's a true form of Iai-do or not, show some respect cause my money's on you not being able to do any of that.

  • celebration win at 1:10

  • Real Katana weight about 1 KG i think u can't do this with this.

  • certainly the title is misleading, but calling it gymnastics or dancing is also ignorant on your part. no aspects of this form is related to gymnastics or acrobatics whatsover - the guy stays on his feet; and dancers dont flail a weapon around. this is more towards open forms category and is meant to display the mastery of handling the weapon.

  • Lol to be honest, i first read this as "gayest" samurai form

  • This sword play seem's more chinese than japanese.

  • @sabermaster80 It's 100% Gaijin sword play.
