I love this, and have remembered the record I had of it in 1964. It was my 'favorite' song. Also the piano record of Floyd Cramer, I had then, and still have the song on cassette tape, record is long-gone, I'm sad to say. Thank you for posting this. That was many moons ago !!

I had known Skeeter Davis by Jim Reeves album of "Here's The Answers" by the song "He's Have to Go"...so it was my most favourite album in my life and out of these songs, I had also known many songs and many artists such as Hack Rocklin'...Please Help Me I'm Falling, Eddy Arnolds, Floyd Cramers etc. Thanks so much for every one who posting these songs & You Tube.

"One hour and I'll meeting you...." Very unique singing style by Skeeter Davis. It reminded me of the cats caterwauling in my backlane which is the reason why it is so captivating. This song is of course much more melodious and which I consider to be one of Skeeter's best songs together with "End of The World". She has a very wholesome country style of singing.

they all are good , but Conway's in no way is the answer to hers , that would make no sense . skeeter is the one who always "answered" to songs like "please help me i'm falling" from hank locklin , this one you would think she could do her own thing , adding to an existing song and hoping to cash in is not creative.

Skeeter's version of Floyd Cramer's instrumental hit, with lyrics written by Her and Beaudleaux Bryant, was released soon after Floyd's original left the charts in 1960. Conway Twitty's version, with lyrics written by him, was a number one hit in1972, Technically, Conway's is the "answer" to Skeeter's version. All three recordings are keepers in my book!

@youvexme Yes, that's Floyd on piano. You should also listen to Al Hirt's cover instrumental of "Last Date." Floyd plays the final part of the song as a solo. Great version. Look up "Al Hirt jazz Last Date" here on YouTube
