He wasn't quite a HOF player but he wasn't too far off from it either.

Let me say this first - I love Kobe! Today he is considered a top 5 all-time player or at least top 7. But, a few years after he is retired people will objectively evaluate his career and he will land in 11-15. Definitely above him, in no particular order:
Jabbar, Wilt, Russell, Jordan, Oscar, Bird, Magic, James
there are 5 additional players that will leapfrog him if he doesn't finish his career strong. His shooting % is < everyone above, 1 MVP, NEVER makes his teammates better.

Not saying he wasn't great, just saying in the grand scheme of things Manu has proven to be more valuable coming off the bench.

They're hot while active,...then their performance gets scrutinized and analyzed against the current players. For Kobe people is going to focus on his inefficiency. Let me say this first - I love Kobe! Today he is considered a top 5 all-time player or at least top 7. But, a few years after he is retired people will objectively evaluate his career and he will land in 11-15. Definitely above him, in no particular order:
Jabbar, Wilt, Russell, Jordan, Oscar, Bird, Magic, James
there are 5 additional players that will leapfrog him if he doesn't finish his career strong. His shooting % is < everyone above, 1 MVP, NEVER makes his teammates better.

@TheSmooth94 look, I love Kobe. My opinion was based on how the rankings will be a few years after he retires. Derek Fisher has 5 rings as does Steve Kerr, and Robert Horry has 7 rings. The number of rings do not mean as much as everyone is saying. Kobe only has 1 MVP and was never a serious contender in most of the other years. Steve Nash has back to back MVPs while Kobe was in the same conference and complaining about support and everything else.

Lebron had 4 assists a game more; that tells me that kobe with the 1st or 2nd best scoring center and one of the best supporting casts, he shoots way too much and passes far too less. Rebounds to lebron, blocks, steals and FT%. 3p% is the only thing kobe has. I'm talking about individual skill, not championships. Championships are subsequently a factor of teams not individuals.

The 90's had "5" Finals with at least a +15 rating; on top of "4" Finals with at least +16 rating; "2" with at least a +17 rating & "1" with at least a +18 rating.
Since 2000, this era's highest Finals rating is only 12.1 ('01) LOL!!

@MJisKingKobesuckss Jordan dunked much more often then Magic and Bird combined. Bird was a much better outside shooter then Jordan. Bird couldn't jump, yet he averaged over 10 carreer rbs. Do you even own your own car, house? Wilt would piss on Jordan were they in the same era. Once again, in head to head matchups Jordan's Bulls never beat Bird's Celtics in the playoffs. The league was weak during the 90's.

@dawnoflife3 Been watching long enough to remember Detlef's contributions, though critical to his team, they never netted him a ring. His personal accomplishments still left the team lacking. And yes Ginobili has started, however his main roll is as the 6th man for the Spurs. I'm sure when in the Euroleague, Detlef did not come of the bench. Not saying he wasn't great, just saying in the grand scheme of things Manu has proven to be more valuable coming off the bench.

@mtownlobo i swear wer talkin about the best individual player to come of the bench, take nothing away from the pacers and sonics.. but ginobli happened to land on a team with arguably the greatest pf of all time, and dont forget tony parker and the rest of their supporting crew. oh trust me im not saying ginobli didnt help the team. hell i dont think they woudve won a couple of them without him. i just feel as an individual player. schrempf is better

@dawnoflife3 Noted. However, Ginobili's much more skilled, I believe. He not only helped the Spurs win, he should have taken home the Finals MVP. And he led Argentina to Gold and numerous other titles. He is a better all-around player.

@mtownlobo yeah lot of skills. But him and Divac are absolute ZEROs for bringing the flop to the NBA. They are disgusting and should be smashed by Shaq and the fat Barkley for ruining the game.
If I could move one time only through time and space it would not be to bring Kareem David Thompson or Pistol Pete into 2010 to see them win rings over wimps.

@crazy02civicdriver Right??? He was Earl freakin Campbell on the hardwood!! I dunno if the Bulls paid the refs or if the refs just loved it as much as everybody else but what I REALLY can't figure is why the NBA didn't go full tilt with that style of game.
Instead they went after zone defense which kills the game, and flopping which is execrable like manu and divac. Why not just go to 4 corners and get rid of the 24 clock!!!!
