Another example of how much better John's songs sound when CREEDENCE plays them.Arnoff and the rest of the band are excellent musicians, but they simply cant do it the way it was with John,Tom,Doug and Stu.
What impresses the hell out of me, is that I could never understand how he could sing like that, and still have a voice left at the end of a performance! I felt that way back in the '70s, and he STILL does it, all these years later! And unlike so many of his contemporaries, he still sings his songs in the same keys he originally wrote them in!
Fogerty is the man. I saw him live in vancouver last april one of the best concerts I have ever seen. His drummer is amazing, really pounds the skins. I can't thank my dad enough for introducing me to CCR.
it so good that John Fogerty still live and kicking! think he need to drop the drummer, he is not fit to my opinion. any way tenx for the post. Ramble Tamble is one of the greatest song of all time
I saw John At the Manchester Apollo 2 days before this concert & Ive got to say he was absolutely BRILLIANT. Johns a perfectionist & I suppose he wanted the dvd to be perfect for his fans.
Yeah, I agree. I was there and John Fogerty was on fine form and the music as always was brilliant. But the breaks and intrusions were a little annoying, it is true.
Thanks. It was real shame. Was loving the music (have to say that I'm a huge Ramones fan, so only heard Have You Ever Seen The rain by The ramones), but I felt that the venue was wrong too. Would have enjoyed it in a slightly more intimate settting. Don't know where you were, but we were right at the back, and even though the sound was great, I was more aware of people leaving their seats on a regular basis than I was of what was going on on the stage.
I was at the gig too, and I have to say that I knew very little of John Fogert. I went because a friend who is a fan asked me to go along. I was actually really enjoying the music, but was irritated by the stop start due to the filming. I had to leave early as it went on for so long. Which is a shame, as I was enjoying it, but my point is, if you're charging £40 a ticket, is it fair to be messed around for what was essentially an event being filmed for a DVD?
My feelings exactly - the filming should have been a lot less intrusive than it was and the interruptions for makeup and costume were really taking the p**s.
Kenny Aronoff - the same guy who played with John Cougar Mellencamp in the '80's?
I saw John Fogerty at the Sydney Opera House in '96. Tickets cost about 30% more than the much larger Sydney Entertainment Centre but were worth it as we were much closer to the action. Only criticism - too loud, please turn those amps below 11 before I go deaf!
Hey Nazaroonie, you always have such wonderful videos. Thank you for posting them! I was in St Albans for Yardbirds/Zombies. Unfortunately, too much security staff, result: no vids, no pictures :(
Thank you! I got busted this time - that's why the video ends so abruptly ... I had another sneaky go during the encore and got Proud Mary, which has just been up-loaded.
It was great to see+hear John Fogerty but the concert was spoiled by the camera guys constantly wandering around on-stage, lengthy interruptions for make-up and costume changes etc etc. The lighting was weird too. Anyway, the up-side is that a DVD of the tour will eventually appear ...
