I managed to find a copy of this game (which is pretty hard to find) and after playing it for an hour, it gets boring real quick. All the stages are pretty much the same, the scenery is just changed a bit after every 3 stages which goes to a new season (fall, winter, etc). Theres hardly any new enemies, and it sucks you cant jump on any of them either. And of course it barely follows the movie at all except for the title and the brief ending. So really... not a good game.
I always thought this game was strange, and that the music and sounds were rather raucous. Oddly enough, "Koneko Monogatari"/"Adventures of Milo & Otis" was developed by the exact same people who made "Dr. Chaos" and "Phantom Fighter", both of which were also released in North America. "Dr. Chaos" was originally released on Famicom Disk, and "Phantom Fighter" was put on Famicom cartridge as "Reigen Doushi".
@DarkEvil87 Or experience, probably. Or a budget. Who knows? The only redeeming factor with the Japanese version of "Dr. Chaos" is that since it's a Famicom Disk game, you're allowed to save your game, rather than resorting to put in a password.
God, this game didn't use the FM synthesis at all! There's nothing this game accomplished that couldn't have been done on the Famicom itself, so why'd they bother?
I'm not sure, but the floppies they used on the Disk System might cost less than the cartridges used on the Famicom. If that's the case, then it would be a reason, if not, I really don't know.
Looks like a rip off to the Super Mario games! Sure it would be a good idea to release a US version of "Milo & Otis" game, at least for the Super Nintendo, but that system is done long time ago!

@ApacheMan2K I played Dr. Chaos in the past, not a very good game in my opinion. Doesn't seem like these developers have much talent.

This game impressed me for one thing, it's how elastic the trees' foliage moves when strained.

@schtolteheim I agree, this is one good aspect of this game.

I guess you have no other choice but to turn the sound off then. It's really weird what they did with this game.

@DarkEvil87 In all honesty though, it doesn't seem like that bad a game... but that music is awful.

Why didn't this video game get released in the USA? It would be perfect for Wii and/or DS!
