  • WHAT! JOHN MAYER CAME TO KNOXVILLE AND I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT!?!?!?

  • @SilentlyintheShadows, I know what you mean! I didn't know this happened either..

  • love it=) id appriciate if anybody had the time to check out the two vids on my channel and leave some feedback=)""

  • Ah, because he wouldnt be able to play shows like WtLI with 13s at standard tuning, and not have to glue his fingers back together afterwards.

  • SRV could do it at Eb tuning, and he had to superglue his fingertips.

  • And if you check the ernie ball site, it says he uses regular slinkys (10's) although some sites say he uses 11's..

I've got links that I'll PM you if you want,

also, some sites say he uses D'Addario 11's with a wound third but if you watch his videos, (and I have a pic/link) you'll see that's false too...

    so humour me.

I think it was the links giving youtube dillema.

  • John uses 10's, it's the first and last thing I asked him when I met him :)

  • Jealous to the max.

  • @Richo18 i'm pretty sure he uses ernie balls his name's on the package and if he didn't he'd have it taken off

  • I struggle to play 11's for more than 30 mins :D It's not human to play anything over 11's that's for sure. Touring with 11's is death.

  • Exactly!

  • @TunesByTanzil Just tell that to stevie ray vaughan, he toured and played studio with 13s! RIP stevie

  • Can't write big chunks of type it seems, so I'll break it up into smaller comments.

  • Gahh why can't I post a response..

  • Comment removed

  • his hair was so goofy

  • it's amazing how much john's voice and playing has improved since he first released this song

  • i agree, i've been watching other versions of this song on youtube and the difference is pretty big

  • I was there!! Fantastic show!!!

  • Oh, wow. He's playing this fingerstyle! Incredible.

  • its very hard to play on a strat. but for les pauls etcs. its easier.

  • ha i doubt that matters

its easy for him to pick each individual string since he plays 13s

    i would know

i play the same size =]

  • Ah BS he plays 13 on his strats, maybe this guitar but not his strats.

  • and you would know? ill humor you so please present your reasoning

  • Damn. :[ The more videos I see of this concert the more pissed off I am I didn't try harder to make it.

  • anyone know what kinds guitar he plays for this song..it kinda looks like a paul reed smith

  • It's a custom Novax

  • the bass on the audio is too high

  • sorry i was in 4th row kinda close to speakers, and my camera is small.

  • dont apologize its audible n besides a camera can usually never capture the live experience.

  • Ha I Was there too... it was on my birthday lol

  • i was there!

  • i wish the sound was clearer, especially during the jam session part of the song.

  • Yeah That concert was awesome i me and my friends won front row tickets to that it was amazing.

  • yeah that was great..i was there, thanks for posting

  • I was there!! I'm still sad that it's over, but it was an amazing show! John's the coolest thing ever!

  • i belive that guitar is made by novax. google it

  • anybody know what kind of guitar he's using. the frets on it are weird but kick ass

  • it's a custom made Novax. he had it custom built because it's difficult to keep the low E string in tune during Neon since he drops it down to a C. the fanned fretboard is specific because it apparently gives perfect intonation on each string. it's just an Apple sticker that he stuck on there, too.

  • sweet, i was there

  • Me too! What a GREAT show!

  • He's so amazing live! I'm so glad he did this one! Love him!!!!

  • is this knoxville?

  • yes 02/06/07
