WOW! Thanks for posting. I was all over 6 Feet Deep in '94, and ultimately was disappointed with the followup. Although now, I like The Pick The Sickle... as well. Even Nightmare in A Minor, which is hardly Gravediggaz as seen here, has a couple dope tracks.
But 6 Feet Deep has gotta be the most slept on rap album in history. I'd love to see a full length version of this live footage, if one exists. Anyone?
@noDwitheNVy This is just a part of the documentary! My man Cratesofjr happens to have at least another different part where you can watch RZA performing Diary of a Madman live! Google: Cratesofjr 1993 Gravediggaz documentary
ditto on the getting older thing. Its getting harder for me to defend rap music. Its 2011, and kids are acting like extreme violence is a new concept (thinking its gonna advance our civilization). I grew up listening to heavy metal as well, so I take lyrics with a grain of salt. The problem is (today) kids are on some "life imitating art" type shit. They take these violent lyrics too seriously. Plus, there used to be a level of respect thats slowly disintegrating now.
@SubliminalMinded2011 Right on. Though, I dont think RZA and such are real supporters of the homosexual cause, for example... Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know them personnally. At least, I have to recognize the ywere taking hip-hop to an interesting level, and most importantly, one that didn't harm hip-hop itself.
@oliverecords you right. I was typing mad fast. I didn't mean to imply that they be marching at the Gay Pride parade. Its just that they weren't going out of their way to bash homosexuals, but more than that they weren't over-indulging in misogyny and the abuse of women (just for the sake of entertainment).
I'm tired of kids talking about how nice a rapper is, yet that rapper is only ill on the mic when rhyming about raping & beating up girls.
@SubliminalMinded2011 Sad but true! These days I feel older and older as I try to catch what's happening on the music scene, particularly rap music. That's the way it goes I guess, one day you feel a little remote from what used to be your bag... I'm french and I can tell you I used to love french rap bands that truly made some sense at one time. Today things have changed as dramatically as in the states. Spirit and soul has vanished from the TV screen. We have to look somewhere else. Or maybe?
@oliverecords also,... kids are so quick to say "fuck old school hip-hop". If you go to a Black Sabbath concert, you'll see a whole bunch young kids. But, when it comes to rap music, kids don't respect the older generation. Even worse, mainstream radio & t.v. outlets promote that seperatist mentality. Older generations of rock musicians get much respect,...but older Black rappers get shitted on. That makes no sense. The media loves young Blacks disrespecting the elders.

Kids feel less responsible now-a-days.

i like it when grym talks bout his name and that he is grym at the world because what happening to his peeps
gives great insight to his personality behind the lyrics and where there coming from
