Then just jump and try to hit the right spot, it will be hard in the begging but it's easier after a while.

But whats important to know is that you don't have to press A or X or whatever just jump from the place that you jump from hit the right spot and bounce away. Hope i could help. Hey do you play on 360 or PS3?
