He wasn't a reach! Word up is that the Steelers wanted this dude and were about to take him a couple of picks later. Fact is, he has the tools, he's a good guy, and he produced in college. You want all of those things in a small school prospect, and he delivered in all areas. I love the picks of Simpson along with Bubba Caldwell and Mario Urrutia. We had ten picks and needed WRs because of Henry gone and Chad imploding.

Due to the heavy media exposure, senior bowl, pro days, etc. lately these small school raw talents have become more likely to succeed in the NFL, such as last year with LB Justin Durant out of Hampton to the Jags and WR Jacoby Jones out of Lane to the Texans. Bratkowski really wanted this guy. The Bengals chose raw talent to mold into a star, and this guy is as raw as they come.

As long as the Bengals get some D-Line, they can then go best available all day on Sunday. Besides, we got Rivers.

This pick was a reach, Simpson would have been there in round 3. That said, other than his route-running, there's a lot to like about this kid. As long as he can adjust to the speed of the NFL, I see no reason why he can't be a solid #2 WR. Who Dey!
