Staopaopa: I agree. People tend to think of him as being wayward and in-consistent, but seem to forget that he often times had to ride around the shortcomings of his equipment and Suzuki's development practices.
And it's nice to see footage of Doohan playing bowling ball for yet another of the old greats. Remember, he did something very identical to Lawson in '90 at Suzuka.
If he would of had a better bike I think he wouldnt retired so soon he just got burned out on injuries & crashes He said I have a 2500 rpm powerband on a good day his bike was way underpowered compared to the Yamaha and even worse to the Honda He said he would roll by the Yamaha or Honda garage and think "Man those guys have got it together they look so organized and professional" compared to his lowbudget Suzuki factory racing team. But didnt matter Kevin's talent would make up the difference.

Schwantz was the best rider during his racing career and if he was on some good equipment he would have completely dominated and nobody can argue with that. And nobody would have been able to keep up.

Its quite amazing to see how many things Valentino Rossi has copied from Kevin
The braking style - leg comes off the foot peg just prior to turn in to corner just like a cowboy, the lumo legs
