I don't mean to offend by this, but Jesus is not the only means of reaching eternal peace. I can say this with complete confidence because no religion is totally right or wrong because a lot of the values are shared. Even in those with many gods there is always one who rules over them all, and I believe that even though its name differs (Odin, Re, God, Alah, Jehova, Yalwee) it is always the same "god." That is why I personally believe that religion doesn't matter, only faith does.
The only problem with that, Keizer, is why would this god choose to express itself in so many contradictory ways. Why would it allow wars to be fought between people who simply had different interpretations.
But more then that. Even a religion without any inherent deities, like Buddhism, can bring peace. Or watching a sun rise. Painting. Writing poetry.

I don't mean to offend by this, but Jesus is not the only means of reaching eternal peace. I can say this with complete confidence because no religion is totally right or wrong because a lot of the values are shared. Even in those with many gods there is always one who rules over them all, and I believe that even though its name differs (Odin, Re, God, Alah, Jehova, Yalwee) it is always the same "god." That is why I personally believe that religion doesn't matter, only faith does.

The only problem with that, Keizer, is why would this god choose to express itself in so many contradictory ways. Why would it allow wars to be fought between people who simply had different interpretations.
But more then that. Even a religion without any inherent deities, like Buddhism, can bring peace. Or watching a sun rise. Painting. Writing poetry.
The feelings that come from faith are feelings we all need. I think that's undeniable. But they don't just come from faith.

I think it is our perceptions of it that changes and differs. If you look at the roots of most religions (this requires out of the box thinking) you can see that the primary message is almost exactly the same: better yourself and help/respect all life around you. I'm not saying religion isn't important, its great for guidance. People do need it, but they must make sure to take the TRUE morals and values with them or its meaningless.

It strikes me as odd that God has the ability to manufacture a physical manifestation of himself and send it to earth while still remaining in Heavan simultaniously, create a complicated series of events that leads to the death of said manifestation, which somehow absolves us of sin--but not original sin, which is a bullshit concept in itself--but simply forgiving humanity is outside his power.

And that's another facinating problem. Why would god have created the Tree of Good and Evil? God knows the outcomes of all events before they happen.
