JK- That was fantabulous! Absolutely love Little's work.
What were average prices for large and small pieces? Also, I couldn't help noticing no red dots. I know not all galleries use them, but always wonder how well paintings sell at shows.
You should friend Loren J. Munk at facebook for my "almost daily" art vlog enteries called ROUGH CUTS. Short glances at the NY scene that don't make it to YouTube.
What is he achieving with the encaustic that the camera isn't catching? High build?, transparency? the ability to run a car buffer over the work? We all wish you the best of luck even if you go away. Great things don't often last. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
There is a subtle, opaque quality that somehow holds the pigment in a less dense though still rich manner. And yes, this goes beyond the camera's ability to capture, but its gorgeous.
that was great mr. kalm......from the show to the studio. If you did that every time you would get picked up by HBO, just kidding. I know how difficult that would truly be. Great job, and very cool of mr. Little to let us in.
Not to toot my own horn but... I 've been contacted by people behind the hottest new online streaming video channel in the world ($). They wanted exclusivity, including the removal of the archive from youtube. But we're working things out. Stay tuned. JK
that was great James ! the color compositions of Little's work are so involved, you almost that them for grant it and 'mom and dad' ,love it,love art !
without a doubt this is a priceless contribution and record of a great artist in his studio as he is working daily and speaking casually that is unique here and given freely by you as if it is no big deal. I did not know of James Little before, thanks very much I hope everyone realizes how important the access you provide is. Aloha from Hawaii.
Very well done! BRAVO! I wasn't expecting the interview after the exhibit.
Voila! We have Kalm's short-documentary on the artist. Very informative and entertaining!
Thanks James!
