@Tugalazix the mother of the girl is paranoid, shes crazy, she planned it all, her daughter's paranoid aswell, they wanted to start shit cause they're weird, the women who lived in the 46 house wasn't his mother he just thought that and the guy that kept coming to her house was just idunno someone but he's been to jail but he wasn't so bad as the blonde bitch said he was, the boy got scared so he shot him and the women cos he thought that his mother left him but its not her yeah ahah :)

a) Interesting story.

b) Miss-titled movie. There was nothing beautiful in it.

c) It works with audio only. There is absolutely nothing special for the eye. Could have saved the money for the video part, just make an audio cassette.

@laura43fun the tile is considered a hyperbole & a metaphor....its saying that sometimes the most beautiful things can also be considered horrifying. We find ourselves looking at something beautiful but beyond that beauty lies a secret dark and sinister. Also the title used to describe the sub-urban area area and the beauty of it but like I said before beyond that beauty lies a secret. So tithe movie is not miss-titled at all.

Post2 of MOVIE SPOILER>Don't read if you haven't seen it...So she strings the kid along The man at house 46 is disturbed and the kid coming around taps into this emotion. When the girl pretends she's abducted and the boy goes to find her all these emotions get released and bam 3 people die. So the beauty of this girl, inspires the 14 year old which culminates in the final release of emotions. The look in Beauty's eyes says it all in the end. It is truly only skin deep.

Ok, so there are no killings..notice you never see bodies...Husband/Father is depressed from his wife's death. Notice in the end there are two different bodies. They have on different cloths. This movie is crap. The ending is real quick and many facts aren't well explained. Maybe they didn't had enough money for finishing it well and cut it like that. In my opinion it's not worth watching it.

It was visually beautiful at moments, but had so really corney moments and generally kind of sucked.

the storyline had potential but they brought in too many sub-stories that had no relevance and were never explored enough to even be there. EG the step mums pregnancy, the dead mother issue.

A potentially beautiful aussie film that tries way to hard to be American Beauty dark hollywood.
