  • Can someone help me?

    I can't figure out how to play the 5let's and 9let's :(

  • Why does the tenor only have one glove?

  • Wow..... Wish I could do this THIS well

  • Ouch! My spine!

  • @CardinalGlitch Well played. I lol'd

  • That was a nice shirly murphy!

  • one glove tenors lol

  • I love this video

  • that tenor part looks crazy as fuqk!

  • How can you dislike this?

  • at the end it sounds like surelog o.o

  • No... Most of us have done dci... Only the marine drum and bugle corps can play this well as far as marching drums. As far as the unit, we teach our selves.

  • how did the marines get so good?any instructors or what?

  • @dodzta69 most of us have marched corps

  • [cut]

  • man in the marines-hot

man in the Marine Corps uniform-fine

man in the Marines Corps thats in uniform and knows how to play drums-SEXY AS HELL!

  • oh... so thats how the tenor scrapes are supposed to look like...

  • wow....pretty clean!

  • @RickDawg527 thanks for being nice...lol im the one playing tenors in this, and with wearing one thick ass leather glove, having just learned it, i think it was a lil dirty at parts. but thanks anyways :D

  • damn they're actually pretty sweet haha

  • Why is the quad dude wearing one glove?

  • @sklermbot Michael Jackson impression.

  • faggots

  • @ClTIZEN these faggots would defend your ass if we got attacked, just sayin bro

  • @mrpainless45 I think I would need to defend my "ass" from them.God only knows what they would do to it.

  • @usmcdrum i dunno man. I heard he has a killer slammer and can play pogs for days.

  • whos that cymbal player with the enormous war rack?

  • @gfunkmastercool hes just a little pog bitch

  • Of course there is going to be haters saying they suck, but they could go on any DCI line today and have no problems. And also think about this, they travel around the world all the time for free and get paid for it. Semper Fi!!!!

  • @fltopp1 and our show is about 3 times longer than any drum corps' show which we learn in 3 weeks. We also play so much more music and different kinds of performances (all music memorized mind u). We don't have the luxury of practicing a 15 min show to perfection all year round like dci drum corps do....food for thought

  • @bluedevmike2005 Your preaching to the choir devil dog. Im a retired Marine bandsman who grew up playing in Drum Corps. LOl, but thanks for the info. Regarding the music ("different kinds"), I know how it works, but one difference is in the band field we carry music pouches containing anywhere up to 200 charts we have to site read at any time. And our music variation is much larger considering every band has a combo band, a country band, a jazz ensemble, marching band, concert band, etc.

  • @fltopp1 I was just saying, for those who don't know. wasn't trying to preach

  • look at those cross overs..i am jealous

  • wats circle of life

  • cause someone tell why the marine corps needs a drumline?

  • @HxCEtErNaL they are part of the Marines drum and bugle corps.

  • @MUTenors14 well yeah! but now i get it! its about tradition! thanks though

  • @HxCEtErNaL tradition, and the marine corps is all about tradition. look up military traditions and the band

  • What's up with the random glove on the tenors right hand?

  • @LHDLtenor lol, that night i was play cymbals, and there is visual i did, that the only way it would work fluidly is if i put electrical tape around the glove so the strap didn't stick to the gauntlet, and we were about to go out on the parade deck, and i didn't have time to take off that glove, otherwise i would have had to re-tape it. Its really hard to play cross overs that fast with a thick ass leather glove.

  • @redit, its not the band. The band is the 5500 field, the Drum Corps is 9812. Sometimes, the rank moves fast, but other times not. It changes based on allocations for rank. Its a small MOS so it changes a lot . I didnt pick up SGT until my 5th year, but I have seen some pick it up in under 2. Crazy right? But I have seen the same thing in just about every MOS. I knew a SGT once who was still 19 for a few days from the 0100 MOS. Plus you have to audition. lol. Its not just a matter of joining.

  • @hhmudirector The D&B is 5512 now and has been for the past 5 years but isn't competitive with the 5500 MOS's as far as promotions go.

  • @Fyerdrum77 Thanks for the knowledge! lol. My apologies folks for the incorrect word. I got out in 2002 and Im already old! Is the US Marine Band still 9811? Or were they moved under the 5500 MOS too? Funny story, In bootcamp, they were reading off our MOS's. My recruiter didnt know about the old 9812 MOS and told me I was a 5500. I had no idea what my Drill instructor was talking about but then they told me it was a specialized Avionics field.lol.They were either messing with me, or had no idea

  • TOOF LOFF

  • man maybe i shouldve gone to the band in the Marine Corps....these guys pick up rank extremely fast! Their cutting score for Sgt...i made that score the first time i rated a score!!! wtf!

  • those scrapes are rediculous!

  • dude.. theyre pretty good. Im glad I made the auditions. =P

  • @GodInspired2Drum you have to get a hold of the MTA that works specifically for 'The Commandant's Own'. I believe its still MSgt Roger Wright. he can tell you more about the audition process.

  • Marine, why is your cover on indoors?!

  • *stick in*

click. clunk. AGHH! wank wank wank skank skank

  • 6 people are part of al-qaeda

  • @SpencerMA89 WTF are you talking about?

  • 6 people hit dis-like on accident

  • michael jackson tenor player.

  • i love that bald tool marine who T-bags the ground on the four rimshots

  • damn mike... you tick you.

  • @TheUrbansteez lol, uhh ya well when u just learn it and then play it with a thick ass leather gaunlet on one hand and playing scrapes that fast, i wanna hear you do it, with a single rim...

  • This proves it. The Marines are the best at EVERYTHING.

  • bad as tenor player with one glove hahahaha

  • Errrr!

  • i like the AHH at the end the tenor player did a cool ass beat at the end lol he should have kept going lol

  • @bigrigdriver1221 He was only doing spankson his low tom

  • @Shadow6002 they are called skanks not spanks.

  • 0:27 AAHH!!!

  • wow. even the marine corps plays this. this makes them even more awsome. also can someone tell me why every marine corps drumline only marches like 2 to 3 snares and one bass one tenor and 2 cymbals?

  • @TheDragonmaster18 Thats only a few of them. There are more on their drumline. That the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps.

  • @5Fan5 oh ok. its just that i have actually seen different marine corps march actually that many like the one that always does the presidents inauguration parade

  • Comment removed

  • is the quad part in this a lot different than the original? i noticed a lot of differences :o

  • @poopmcdoopdoop Idk...I played the tenor part, and I just played what was on the original sheet of music I got...I did change a drum or two but not the whole thing.

  • @bluedevmike2005 that makes sense, because i thought the beginning was on 3 instead of 2 :o

  • Comment removed

  • better than the navy OR the army

  • BAH!

  • Explore the space

  • tenor player looks like he's tryin to do the robot

  • @TheguywithaAccount what the hell r u talkin about???? I was just playing normally

  • @bluedevmike2005 sorry man just poking fun at someone i aspire to be like

  • LOL omfg the cymbals are so shiny, look at the light at 0:26

  • Ooohrahh guys! That's the life, getting paid to drum Chyeah!

  • this seems like a sick job. i would be down to march dci till my age out year then enlist in the marines to do this for as long as i want and actually get paid for it unlike in dci. it would be a bitch to have to go through basic training though

  • @jsk8drummer basic and combat training is the best part!

  • I've watched a few vids of these guys now and it totally looks like a fun job. But I seriously couldn't go through basic again. I'd love to play all day for a pay check, but fuck running 8 miles at 5 in the morning every day.

I guess I could be talked in to it, but it'd be hard.

  • Does anyone else notice the final pose of the cymbal in the back?

  • @jacobisreallycool

hez kinda looks like the monkey in the movie lion king. YOUNG ANIMALS THE IS SIMBA!

  • @jacobisreallycool who DOESNt notice? lol

  • That was DIRTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @zservin THANKS MARINE!!! :)

  • haha JK... just a playful jab. lol sounds good. I like it.... banished beyond!!! Rah

  • is the tenor kinds messing aound cause sometimes hes on the wrong drums

  • The guy on the left is a beast. He came and helped out our line one day with a bunch of other marines.

  • snare on the right totally threw out his dick at the end.

    That's the way it's done.

    Marines

  • Needs more BASS DRUM! But still. Awesome lick.

  • tenor players gotta run that lick a lot more, clicks in all the hard spots, like the crazy cross scrapes and then the butterflies on drums 1+2.

  • @Supernova325 Ya i know, i had just learned it, i changed a couple of the drums and I was wearing a think ass leather glove on one hand so it definitely wasn't my best run of this, but its whatever, you guys get the point...I'm not that shitty a tenor player lol, you can ask the other guys that played with me.

  • hey if there playing loin king whos fighting iraq

  • This made my day!

  • needs bass

  • @ybsorc9 it actualy needs more cowbell

  • God damn, about time a service line played some modern stuff.

  • They may be band geeks, but theyre MARINE band geeks!

  • @xPOSSUM45x Correction: Marine Band Gods

  • Get the bass part in there too!

  • The Commandant's Own don't get too many chances to show off. I think the Corps need to let the RAWR a little more often!

  • thumbs up if you bobed you head at 0:28

  • The Beginning is near spend it with NearestWelcome

  • 0:15 on is EPIC WITH THE DRUMER ON THE RIGHT SIDE!!!!!! aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh ORAHHH MARINE

  • "These guys suck"

    orly

They're just fucking around with this one

hence the cymbal visuals and screaming

  • wow that was fantastic. im proud to say that i live in the same country as you guys and anybody with a negative comment for these guys is a straight up jerk.

  • @DrmrGuy1979 guy take a deep breath. i was 11b but im no longer in service... never deployed i was just currious because you said your ait was tough i was just asking what mos you are.

  • @DrmrGuy1979 what mos are you?

  • @DrmrGuy1979 dude you are so wrong. army infantry school is longer than marine infantry school. NEXT.

  • damn that over under flam scrapes on the quads are sick

  • JEEERRRPPPEEE?!??!??!?!?!?!!?

  • damn if only the navy had a drumline like that.....:-/

  • @tyj0322 I didnt even notice that cowbell.

  • These guys are certified bad ass.

  • ahhh.... i thinked i just jizzed in my pants a little.... yep THAT WAS BEAT!!!

  • beast!

  • just FYI for tenors, the start is from 3 to 4

  • @cddrummer96 yaya i know the start is from 3 to 4, but i think it sounds better from to 2 to 4.

  • @bluedevmike2005 and i couldn't agree with you more, just making sure you knew. i play it from 2 to 4 too.

  • Friggin' awesome!

I was with Bravo Co., 1st Recon Bn in the 80s. Semper Fi.

  • guy at the end. "oh my g"

  • Good job, but the tenor player cheated in the beginning and at measure 5 a little bit

  • @Keevawn no i didn't i have the music. The beginning i prefer better so to bad so sad, if you know it, you can play it however the hell want

  • @bluedevmike2005 Nah, im not trying to hate at all, now listening to it, it sounds better when i play it 2 to 4 also. Sorry if I offended you, not intended.

  • That was a sexxyyy groove the tenor player played at the end, even though it was only 3 seconds.

  • those scrapes at 00:18 are ridiculous
