  • Heathkit :) unfortunately they are gone now? :( I have one of those old boards that was a little test set it had a simple breadboard and a keypad and some other random switches and stuff it was really cool.

  • Hey, they are talking about your bug on TV news, saying how it could be used to aid in rescues.

At least it looks like your little bug and moves the same way.

  • cool!

  • |-o zzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZZ

  • awesome Dave!

  • » Good stuff.

  • Oh Dave:

Regarding the viewer's $15 shipping chg comment, that apparently was for some destination overseas! I have been using the USPS Priority Pagake Rate for the US,

which is $4.95, and I have been paying

that out of my own pocket! Also, I think that I should mention you only featured the BUG, and have no connection to its

pricing. Thanks Dave, your a great friend.

  • Hi Dave:

I've been induated with e-mails, so I have been very busy. However, I would like to comment about the BUG being pricey! For what parts are provided, as well as prep-labor, it is actually a real deal!! Also, the 40 page assembly manual is free! The parts are not marked up, and the PCB assembly, or any other prep work is not charged for! I e-mailed out

a parts/ price list to viewers that docu- mented how the $85 price was deter-

    mined. Thanks, ElectronTeacher

  • Hi dave,

I recently mailed the guy who sells them,

unfortunatly their a bit expensive for my, 85 bucks, complete + about 15 for shipping so, kind of a shame, because their really cool :D

  • Wow just went to electronteachers Page.... haha his comment box is Loaded with people asking about these bugs,,,,

seems like NightFlyer is makin him some money! hhaha

  • Haha. Well I dunno if he is making money, as I understand he is just breaking even on them, just to provide them, but it looks like there will be a lot of "a"s for science projects this year.

  • Nice bugs there Dave =) I like that little green thingy that was the referee in the race hehe =)

  • Thanks kindly.

  • WOW Dave your vids look so professional with the music and intro' s and camera angles, you seem to have come a long way with your youtube career looking foward to many more vids :D

you know what might be a really fun project... if you were to radio control one of those 'bugs' you got that would be AWSOME! =D

  • Thank you very much. Just like flying, the more you do it the better you get. I appreciate your comments, and rc may be another avenue to explore with them.

  • LOL Electron Teacher is riding up on your fame, he's probably drowning in emails by now.

  • I warned him. Be careful what you ask for, as you just might get it. He is a capable guy though, and I assume he will keep up with the emails.

  • Cool Bugs! What if you strapped them to the bottom of a Heli and flew them into combat!!!!!!!

  • Haha. Now that is a thought.

  • dave do you still do ham? if so whats ur call?

    frank aka ks4io

  • thats similar to those little hex bugs.

  • wow, that is really interesting. good job on building the things, any thought why your "bug" went faster? anyway, nice video as usual.

  • Thanks. Mine went faster because I put in a "High Speed chip" before the race, when Jeff wasn't looking. LOL.

  • I can't imagine what kid of wacky mods you're going to do on that thing :)

  • Haha. Thanks very kindly. Yes that required a "special" chip. LOL.

  • great man

  • Thanks kindly man.

  • Did you sell much of those yellow tx with that sort of price tag?

I have seen a blue one in a model aviation museum!!!!

  • Kraft was the first digital proportional radio on the market in USA and we sold as many as we could make. I worked in the signature series department. The TX cost $999 with no rx or servos. The single stick cost $1200 (also tx only) Phil Kraft owner and Joe Bridi both flew single stick radios. We also modified and customised them exactly as the customer wanted. It was a great radio and all the top fliers had one. All Krafts were Gold.

  • Dave, as always thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

  • Thanks kindly for your comments.

  • Thanks for the awesome vid

  • Thanks very much.

  • im getting better at soldering. I forgot that I got a nice DX6i and other things part to make anything out of it which I love doing. My dad is very interested in robots and technology like me but I am interested more in flying things.

  • Great. Knowing how to solder is a good thing when your messing with RC. I hope your dad liked this video, then also. Now, Dad go make a robot bug!

  • !!Awesome!!

  • Thanks sir.

  • Thanks for showing us some of the old equipment. I had it easy back in the 80's by comparison. Still had the magnetic interference of computers getting in the way though. The bugs are cool too.

  • Thanks very kindly for your comments.

  • Nice stuff Dave, hope you had a merry Christmas and will have a happy new year!

  • Thanks very much. I wish you the same and good health too.

  • Awsome i liked the radio u made looks nice for suttin made 30 years ago i would buy it

  • Thanks. It was a great radio and also the first Digital Proportional radio on the market. But 2.4ghz spread spectrum is the clear winner today.
