  • when is their conset in Toronto??

i heard it was cancelled ans reschuald for agust or somthin

  • Is definitively NOT punk, but The Specials had a lot of influences by early British punk rock in their sound. That's why they call it "Two tone", a modern, British version of Jamaican ska.

  • @GaetanoCozza

Actually they called it "Two-Tone" because that was the name of the main record company that was pumping out a lot of 2nd wave Ska albums... Two-Tone records.

  • Ahhh, The days before skacore.. timeless

  • this is how music should be...emo bands need to be taught a lesson on music!

  • who said this is punk! well they dont have clue......this is ska...muppet

  • this is two tone, jerry dammers created the whole tone tone label and then gave bands such as madness their first break

    respect please

  • I'm only in my late teens, but been brought up with all this music due to my family being into Ska etc. Love it - songs that actually have meaning unlike todays 'pop' songs. Ergh!

  • @ 1.23 is that the dancing priest from father Ted?

  • @dntworibhapi LOL, highly unlikely. You're thinking of actor Liam Carney, mate ;)

  • i'm 16 and just getting into ska, the specials are awesome i wish i was around for them in their golden age

  • love reading comments like this. if you're 16 and feeling this sh*t, then you have a great taste in music son. dig into the clash too if you haven't yet

  • real music

  • Saw them last night , great gig :)

  • They were very punk live.

  • Comment removed

  • yes they are

  • Love it at the end of the video when the fans start jumping up on the stage with The Specials. That alone shows us just how loved and important they were. I'm glad to see they got back together again.

  • u shut up

  • Back when concerts were actually fun to go too. now people have to be 3 to 5 feet from the stage and everyones damn cameras are always flashing ruining the magic of its 'liveness'

  • @DarthAzula Luckily for us here in Cleveland we've got a small little concert clubs where these kinds of bands play and we can jump onstage even.

  • @DarthAzula Mate what gigs have you been to where flashing camera 'ruin the liveness' :P

  • Yeah, they're on a reunion tour in the UK and Ireland...

  • yes of course they rule the ska world...!!!!!

  • the specials... god? YES

  • What is the deal with the chevrons and the 3 nurmerals. It''s got me stumped.

    It's everywhere.

  • it's internet lingo. if you turn your head to the right and look it it, it shows little hearts. it just means i love them!

  • Oh, I thought it meant something of esoterica.

  • LOVE EM!!!!!!

  • sickkkkkkkkkk.

  • i luvvv the specials

  • Oh Lord Schools back!!

So meaningful to my life tapestry...

so many memories.. parties, girls singing this line for line, cigarettes, kissing, assembly, bad freinds, first time sex, watching your first freinds band, two tone movement, ska massives, black ties pork pie shoes, bomber jackets!. LORDs (head slaps of the day), Melvin (panties squeeze of the day), unhooking bras!, reciting the lyrics from Ska tunes the longest, underage drinking, loosing your virginity! Teacher lust! oohh!!

  • Love this song!.. play this song to my female friend who got married and had a kid at 18! lol

  • Cool song great reminder to "wrap it up before you slap it up"

  • my favourite song of 79

  • Calm down dude, no one's gonna accuse you of being racist just for that! He says "Oh no, no gimme no more pickney". (Pickney is Jamaican patois for a child/children)

  • actually.....they are reuniting with all the original line up except jerry dammers. looking forward to a show

  • first and best.......

  • yeah. kids need good music these days. we are presented with shit lately.

    punks not dead!

    ska aint dead!

  • there's good music around today, you just need to open your ears maaan

  • yeah, i know there is but it is very underground or unheard of.

  • Hmmm, that's debatable.

What is not debatable is that Punk is dead, Green Gay, Sum 41 and many other American queers lifted the tombstone over that genre once and for all in 2005.

Also, Madness' recent material is definitely not relighting the fire, nor did the ordinary boys, if you remember them from a couple of years back.

There might not be good punk and ska bands around nowadays, but there are variations of the two, new genres and other genres.

    Get with it grandpa!

  • now way. punks not dead.

there are still strong punks scenes across the world. and there are many, many great bands out there. Just because a few shitty bands got recognized doesnt mean that the scene has died.

  • YES THEY ARE!! FUCK YOU!!

  • God please will the specials and madness come back and bring back the ska to the younger generations

  • i am the younger generation and i have every single specials vinyl.

  • my band, who are thirteen years old, are doing some ska music now.

  • iainnmacdo Check out Babylon Circus, Manu Chao and Cat Empire, maybe you'll get some inspiration. These bands mix a lot of styles including ska. Good luck with your band!

  • In 1979 I was a 15 year old prog fan, on holiday in England... but when I got home I cut my hair and I was spreading the 2-Tone gospel! This was a wonderful anti-racist pro-fun vibe, it was a wave of optimism, of speaking up, of thinking about politics, of forming bands instead of only listening to them.

Musically I grew out of ska again, later on, but I still appreciate this very, very much!

  • hey, hoodsmon, YOU AINT WRONG THERE, what a tune man, dosent get much better

  • hey you

thought u did not do this internet crap lol

anyhow luved the song,an the whole anti-racist pro-fun vibe was brill i remeber it,today its all shit well most of it,an it like one or the other!
