In my imagination when that girl loaned money there was no one else but loan sharks around. She borrowed the money and the interest was huge. In the end her cow was shot and then she was too. :( sad I know, but i bet this actually happens. One cow wasnt going to save her :(

yes it only happens with girls. men have alll the power in many of these societies, and giving a woman these tools helps the community, not just the woman. it is in the way men and women think differently. dont get me wrong, men can do wonderful thihngs for the community, too, but giving this to a woman ends up impacting the whole community, not just an individual.

If she gets a loan to buy a cow, she has to feed the cow, then pay all the milk to the bank as interest, and eventually pay back the cow. Net loss in cattle feed.

NOW, maybe if her school taught her what a racket loans are, about why she should avoid them, or if she's in one how to use contract law to her advantage citing lack of consideration...well, maybe then she would have a chance.
