The Church of Christ speaks the truth of what the bible say. these other denominations are indeed going to hell because they each have adulterated the bible in one way or the other. So, I thought I would pray for him, but got on to see why people hate him so much. Now I see why. Respond to this video... To the man's question at 3:05 - any time God's word in whole, and not in part, is given, God is glorified. Johnny's defensiveness to the point of cutting caller's off or not answering directly, is not something I would do, but, I have never been so publicly exposed and had to take on attacks to my person like he has. We cannot ever be good enough, in and of ourselves, to justify for ourselves the gift God gives to be forgiven and live forever. The ISSUE in controversy is about our RESPONSE to receiving that gift. The church of Christ is olny a messenger of Christ and his church. Anyne can be saved just not on their own reasoning. The word of God must guide you as in acts 8 and the eunich. We (members of the church of Christ do not write scripture or alter it) We simply obey it and pass it along. God will be the final judge in the matter of salvation yet we who are spiritual are commanded to help bring the erring to Christ as commanded.

Doctrine is extremely important. People claim, "well God's grace is willing to make up for things you may do wrong in worship." While that may be true, it's not up to a man on where and how God extends his grace. I am a member of the Church of Christ, and like any true member, I believe we are the one true Church. Not all Church of Christ preachers act or talk like this. He should not turn anyone away, but offer to study with them. By the way, the Bible DOES say you need to be baptized to be saved. You must look at all of the verses in the Bible about baptism to understand it and the context the verses are in. @kelliemcclellan As best I understand it, there is no verse in the Bible that explicitly states that water baptism is REQUIRED for salvation. When Peter talks about baptism "for remission of sins" early in Acts the original Greek word is "eis" which more often than not means "BECAUSE of", not "in order to acquire". So in that sense Peter was talking of baptism as our Baptist friends hold it to mean. But *nowhere* does it say without baptism is there damnation.
@kwerky EIS is actually a forward moving pronoun. It does not mean "because of" it means "for" "into" or "unto". Jesus used the same word for the Lord's Supper, "This is my body, which is broken for you FOR the remission of sins. If he meant BECAUSE OF, there was no need for Jesus to die, because we were already saved. Mark 16:16 actually does say that without FAITH (and baptism), one is condemned.

All you have to do to prove that what I wrote is wrong is to give just one verse where “eis” has been translated as “because of.” If you could do that, you wouldn’t have to resort to petty name calling.

Which agrees perfectly with Acts 22:16 and 1Pet.3:20-21. However, there is NO TRANSLATION that has "eis" as "because of" in Acts 2:38. Why is that?

Which view of baptism in Acts 2:38 agrees with “be baptized and wash away your sins” (Acts 22:16) and “baptism doth also now save us” (Pet.3:21)? Is it the view that says be baptized because your sins are already forgiven, or the view that repentance AND baptism, being tied together with the conjunction “and” are both necessary for the forgiveness of sins? If forgiveness comes before baptism, then what did Paul’s baptism wash away (Act.22:16), and from what did baptism save them in 1Pet.3:21?

Regardless of its role in the chronology of events (or one event) that leads to one being a Christian, baptism is still commanded, and it is sinful not to be baptized, according to this scripture. With that, how could anyone oppose baptism as a necessity for Christians?

I've been raised in the COC all my life and I do admire how they attempt to follow out what the Word of God says and study it diligently. COC folks get Christ's Church (body of believers) mixed up with their own denomination. It is named the Church of Christ. The church...of Christ, and the Church of Christ are two different things. To say that people who worship in other denominations are going to hell, is also making the claim that people who serve in your denomination are going to heaven. Denying that the COC is a denomination is lying to yourself and everyone around you.

John sent his letter out to tell people how to combat these false teachers. And notice how the apostles established churches everywhere they went? Okay, I had to post. I am a member of the Kernersville Church of Christ and I can assure you that Johnny Robertson is not the "norm" of a preacher in the Church of Christ. I used to attend a congregation in which he preached and it was horrible. Thank God for true gospel preachers!!
He does such a good job of handling the scripture, however, he does have a problem with bringing glory to God when it comes to perhaps going a little overboard and reacting in an "unloving" tone of voice. However, BRAVO, he sure has studied the Bible. VERY TRUE one must be baptized into Christ... but we need a lot more loving tone for helping others get baptized into Christ - like the apostles.

Just as if I were to say in a will that my grandson could have my estate if he graduated from college, God too has left an inheritance for those who would desire it (because of his grace, and mercy), but we too have something we must do to acquire it. Hear (Rom. 10:17), believe (John 3:16), repent (Acts 2:38), confess (Rom. 10:10), be baptized (Mark 16:16), and be faithful (1 Cor. 15:58).
This brings up the point of Baptists, Methodists, etc. whose name if not taken solely as a title, shows whose ownership they claim: John the Baptist, John Wesley, etc. The one and only church mentioned in the New Testament is an everlasting Kingdom, comprised of those followers who follow, teach, and uphold all of the truths found in God's will. If the Baptist, Methodist, etc. faiths were in this category, they would be part of the church, but because they ARE different faiths, that cannot be.
Secondly, the title of a church in and of itself isn't a saving or damning factor. It is what the congregation teaches and practices, as is evident with the Roman, Corinthian, and Ephesian congregations, as well as the 7 churches, or congregations, found in Revelation. Title alone isn't the issue, and frankly several "members" of the "Church of Christ" have lost sight that the church of Christ isn't the title of an organization, but rather a descriptive term of the church.
First off, to those who think that members of "the Church of Christ" believe that the church saves, or that a church damns, there is error in this thought-process from a biblical point of view. In Acts 2, when the Jews were told to repent and be baptized for their sins to be forgiven, they obeyed these commands, were saved, and as a result of being saved were ADDED to THE church, by God. Note that they didn't join anything, but were added according to His eternal plan.
It is a pitty that such people get air time. I'm not talking about doctrines and such, but the lack of the least possible respect toward callers who are not answered and muted out. The best possible doctrine can suffer a lot when so poorly presented and geared toward hate speech against anybody who is not comforming to any of his understanding of the Bible. BTW, I am a CoC member and happen to know a lot of loving and caring preachers who thaught the same doctrines with love and no hatered.
According to the history of the "Church of Christ," God used certain men to "restore" the New Testament Church in the early 1800's. Where was the true New Testament church before then? Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church (Matthew 16:18). What happened to the church and where was the truth it was responsible for preaching before God restored it?
If as a Christian I can sin so as to "lose my salvation," just what sin or sins will place me in such danger? Is it possible to know at what point one has committed such a sin, and become lost again? Please be specific and give clear Bible references
If salvation is not by works of righteousness which we have done, and baptism is a work of "righteousness," then how can water baptism be a part of salvation? (Titus 3:5; Matt. 3:16) In the Bible, we are SAVED BY GRACE, and grace does not involve human effort or merit - grace is grace and work is work! (Just read Ephesians 2:8,9 and Romans 11:6.)
Why does the "Church of Christ" insist that their name is scriptural when it cannot be found anywhere in the Bible? The church is referred to as the "church of God" eight (8) times in the Bible, but never is it called the "church of Christ." The verse they use is Romans 16:16, but it doesn't say "church of Christ." Where does the Bible call the church the "church of Christ"?
Hey Johnny, I as a member of the Church would let them talk. We aren't going to change our stance on anything, and I am not going to down you, or talk about you, or leave the Church, but at least give them the time to talk and express themselves without blasting them.

I respect you for admitting what many do not: that no congregation is perfect. So it is that denominations have come about, and I think there is even biblical precedent for them. The body of Christ is ALSO made up of ALL who follow Christ. And that is something that DEFIES denominational definition.
The body of Christ is composed of many Baptists, many Methodists, many Presbyterians, many Catholics... and many who do not consider themselves denominational at all.
God alone can know and judge who belongs to Him. Not you or I, dude. And not the "Church of Christ" denomination either.

People are seeking what can fill up the empty space in their soul, and so many fill it with something that resembles Christianity, but is only partially or sometimes close to being right, but there is something in God's word they don't like, so they give up or accept something "less than", thinking that it will be enough for God.

I have only met this guy a few times, getting off of my program and him doing his program. Then he said he has cancer. So, I thought I would pray for him, but got on to see why people hate him so much. Now I see why. He seems 2 b arrogant and so full of himself, I will find it hard to be in the same room w/him and keep my mouth shut. I cut off people on my show when they cuss. He cuts them off when he's a little flustered. I'm going to post on the Star News facebook and see what they say.

Respond to this video... To the man's question at 3:05 - any time God's word in whole, and not in part, is given, God is glorified. Johnny's defensiveness to the point of cutting caller's off or not answering directly, is not something I would do, but, I have never been so publicly exposed and had to take on attacks to my person like he has. Johnny's defensiveness tells me that he is ALSO too focused on defending himself. There should never be a reason to be defensive.

Respond to this video... I believe we agree that it IS through the blood of Jesus' sacrifice that forgives our sin. We cannot ever be good enough, in and of ourselves, to justify for ourselves the gift God gives to be forgiven and live forever. The ISSUE in controversy is about our RESPONSE to receiving that gift. God tells us how to respond. Galatians 3:26-27. I Peter 3:18 - 21. Acts 2:21 - 38 (to name only a few). God tells us in His word - not any man. Always check it out. Acts 17:11.

The church of Christ is olny a messenger of Christ and his church. Anyne can be saved just not on their own reasoning. The word of God must guide you as in acts 8 and the eunich. We (members of the church of Christ do not write scripture or alter it) We simply obey it and pass it along. God will be the final judge in the matter of salvation yet we who are spiritual are commanded to help bring the erring to Christ as commanded.

The Greek preposition EIS occurs some 1,693 times in the Greek New Testament. In all of those times, it is NEVER translated "because" in any English translation. Not once! If it could mean "because of" then it would have been translated that way.

Doctrine is extremely important. People claim, "well God's grace is willing to make up for things you may do wrong in worship." While that may be true, it's not up to a man on where and how God extends his grace. I am a member of the Church of Christ, and like any true member, I believe we are the one true Church. Others do things wrong. I do not claim they are going to Hell, but I'm not able to claim they are going to Heaven either. No one can claim that God saves no matter how one worships.

d. Mk. 1:9: "baptized of John in (eis) Jordon." Jesus did not come into possession of the Jordon River as He was baptized. The Jordon existed long before baptism was invented.
e. I Cor. 10:2: "baptized unto (eis) Moses." Moses existed before the "baptism" in the Red Sea. The people were not "baptized" in order to obtain Moses. Their "baptism" was in response to his leadership.

a. Matt. 3:11 "baptism unto (eis) repentance." You get baptized because you have repented. You do not get baptized so you can obtain repentance. The order is, "repent and be baptized."
b. Matt 12:41: "they repented at (eis) the preaching of Jonah" Obviously, the preaching came first and then the people repented in response to that preaching.
c. Matt. 28:19: "Baptizing them in (eis) the name of the Father and of Son and of the Holy Ghost" The Triune God exists before one is baptized.

Eph 1:3 all spiritual blessings are in christ. Rom 6:1-5 how you get in christ. 1peter3:21 baptism saves...Why would the great commission given in Mark 16:15-16, Mathew 28:19 tell us to make disciples by baptism if it wasn't neccessary?

Not all Church of Christ preachers act or talk like this. He should not turn anyone away, but offer to study with them. By the way, the Bible DOES say you need to be baptized to be saved. You must look at all of the verses in the Bible about baptism to understand it and the context the verses are in. Please don't compare all of us just because we claim to belong to the Church of Christ. Thank you and God bless you.

When Peter talks about baptism "for remission of sins" early in Acts the original Greek word is "eis" which more often than not means "BECAUSE of", not "in order to acquire". So in that sense Peter was talking of baptism as our Baptist friends hold it to mean. But *nowhere* does it say without baptism is there damnation.

@kwerky EIS is actually a forward moving pronoun. It does not mean "because of" it means "for" "into" or "unto". Jesus used the same word for the Lord's Supper, "This is my body, which is broken for you FOR the remission of sins. If he meant BECAUSE OF, there was no need for Jesus to die, because we were already saved. Mark 16:16 actually does say that without FAITH (and baptism), one is condemned.

And there's a very good reason for that. The preposition EIS is ALWAYS prospective (looking forward), never retrospective (looking back) which means that forgiveness follows Baptism in Acts 2:38.

There are dozens of verses where these two words are translated “because of.” So, if Peter had wanted to say in Acts 2:38, “repent and be baptized because of the remission of sins” he had the words to say it. But he didn’t. Instead, he used “eis” a word that never means “because of.”

@connersryan NO VERSION EVER translates “eis” as “because of.” The reason is simple. “Eis” doesn’t mean “because of.” “Arise, be baptized and wash away your sins” (Acts 22:16). The washing away of sins comes in baptism. And, we get “into” Christ in baptism (Ro.6:3; Gal.3:26-27). Salvation is “in” Christ (2Tim.2:10). There is no salvation outside of Christ, and we are baptized “into” Christ. Why not be baptized “into” Christ and “wash away your sins?” (Gal.3:27; Act.22:16).

1. He was healed before he offered a sacrifice.
2. The offering was “for thy cleansing;” not to obtain it, but as a formal declaration in ceremony that it was already enjoyed.
3. The offering was “for a testimony.” So is every formal ordinance, for they have no power to do anything else. Their place is one of testimony, not for procuring actual blessings. They show forth whatever it is that they are ordained to refer to.

I gave you several other English translations of Acts 2:38 where "eis" was translated variously as: "so that," "so your," "unto the," "then," "to," the forgiveness of your sins. Are these translators wrong? Are you a better Greek scholar than they? Their translations remove the ambiguity of “for” making it clear that forgiveness follows baptism. Which agrees perfectly with Acts 22:16 and 1Pet.3:20-21. However, there is NO TRANSLATION that has "eis" as "because of" in Acts 2:38. Why is that?

Which view of baptism in Acts 2:38 agrees with “be baptized and wash away your sins” (Acts 22:16) and “baptism doth also now save us” (Pet.3:21)? Is it the view that says be baptized because your sins are already forgiven, or the view that repentance AND baptism, being tied together with the conjunction “and” are both necessary for the forgiveness of sins? If forgiveness comes before baptism, then what did Paul’s baptism wash away (Act.22:16), and from what did baptism save them in 1Pet.3:21?

Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
But a more scriptural view of this matter - and we might add, more reasonable - is that Christ meant that the bread and wine were emblems or symbols of His flesh and blood and the “eating” and “drinking” is figurative or metaphorical language, declaring the necessity of trusting the Son of God for salvation.

Why, neither Thayer or Liddell and Scott even mention "because of" as a meaning at ALL, and no reputable translation (or any translation that I know of) translates the word "because of." So you just climb out on any old limb - no matter how rotten. If you'd like to know the meaning of "eis aphesin harmartion", I'd suggest you look at Matt 26: 28 then look at Acts 2: 38.

@kwerky The Bible doesn't explicitely state in Acts 2:38 whether baptism should come before, after, or be a part of the moment of conversion into Christianity, but it does explicitely state that we are commanded to be baptized. Regardless of its role in the chronology of events (or one event) that leads to one being a Christian, baptism is still commanded, and it is sinful not to be baptized, according to this scripture. With that, how could anyone oppose baptism as a necessity for Christians?

In my opinion, if one truly believes in Christ, then why not believe in what He says about baptism? I wouldn't not wanna risk being disobedient just for the sake of the argument or for convenience. I've been raised in the COC all my life and I do admire how they attempt to follow out what the Word of God says and study it diligently. But i don't agree with the COC being the "one, true" church... Its a denomination just like any other denomination in my opinion. What are we doing that's really so different from pentacostals? He does such a good job of handling the scripture, however, he does have a problem with bringing glory to God when it comes to perhaps going a little overboard and reacting in an "unloving" tone of voice. However, BRAVO, he sure has studied the Bible. VERY TRUE one must be baptized into Christ... but we need a lot more loving tone for helping others get baptized into Christ - like the apostles.

For one to become a member of THE church, one must take advantage of the grace and mercy of the Godhead. Just as if I were to say in a will that my grandson could have my estate if he graduated from college, God too has left an inheritance for those who would desire it (because of his grace, and mercy), but we too have something we must do to acquire it. Hear (Rom. 10:17), believe (John 3:16), repent (Acts 2:38), confess (Rom. 10:10), be baptized (Mark 16:16), and be faithful (1 Cor. 15:58).

This brings up the point of Baptists, Methodists, etc. whose name if not taken solely as a title, shows whose ownership they claim: John the Baptist, John Wesley, etc. The one and only church mentioned in the New Testament is an everlasting Kingdom, comprised of those followers who follow, teach, and uphold all of the truths found in God's will. If the Baptist, Methodist, etc. faiths were in this category, they would be part of the church, but because they ARE different faiths, that cannot be.

Secondly, the title of a church in and of itself isn't a saving or damning factor. It is what the congregation teaches and practices, as is evident with the Roman, Corinthian, and Ephesian congregations, as well as the 7 churches, or congregations, found in Revelation. Title alone isn't the issue, and frankly several "members" of the "Church of Christ" have lost sight that the church of Christ isn't the title of an organization, but rather a descriptive term of the church.

First off, to those who think that members of "the Church of Christ" believe that the church saves, or that a church damns, there is error in this thought-process from a biblical point of view. In Acts 2, when the Jews were told to repent and be baptized for their sins to be forgiven, they obeyed these commands, were saved, and as a result of being saved were ADDED to THE church, by God. Note that they didn't join anything, but were added according to His eternal plan.

It is a pitty that such people get air time. I'm not talking about doctrines and such, but the lack of the least possible respect toward callers who are not answered and muted out. The best possible doctrine can suffer a lot when so poorly presented and geared toward hate speech against anybody who is not comforming to any of his understanding of the Bible. If salvation is not by works of righteousness which we have done, and baptism is a work of "righteousness," then how can water baptism be a part of salvation? (Titus 3:5; Matt. 3:16) In the Bible, we are SAVED BY GRACE, and grace does not involve human effort or merit - grace is grace and work is work! (Just read Ephesians 2:8,9 and Romans 11:6.)

Hey Johnny, I as a member of the Church would let them talk. We aren't going to change our stance on anything, and I am not going to down you, or talk about you, or leave the Church, but at least give them the time to talk and express themselves without blasting them.
Name dropping is necessary sometimes, but there's a way it can be done.
Let them do what they know!

I am disappointed by this video. I think the guy in the video has a problem with how he delivers the gospel. I do not know him, but like it has already been said please do not think this represents the Lord's Church. The bible warns of false doctrine, and there is plenty of it! You must read your bible entirely to know the whole truth... God Bless

Bible is clear . If you want to be saved - REPENT and turn away from sin ! Jesus Himself said - "If you love me,you will keep my commandmens" Just choose right environment and people to keep felowship. Don't keep felowship with hipocrytes sinners in order to avoid temptation.

Johnny Roberston is a tool. Does he really think his confrontational, "everybody's going to hell except us" attitude is going to win anyone over? And look at his body language while he's listening to phone calls. What is his goal - to win souls or to win arguments? The Church of Christ (at least in this area) has become a kook religion that ranks right up there with the Jehova's Witnesses and Mormons as fringe and to be avoided, lest people group you with these nutjobs!

First of all "what the Bible says is" without love, you have nothing, this guy challenged my pastor to come on his show and defend his faith, which is in the only begotten Son of God, and his reply was, defend my faith? an experience outways and argument anyday, this guy is so busy fussing with the church that he cant even go out and minister to the broken, SAD! Him and his followers want to send people to hell for listening to rock and roll music. His favorite thing to say is, "You're going to hell!", if you disagree with anything he spouts.

Johnny Robertson is nothing but a liar and false preacher. A friend of mine called his cell phone after the show and went off the air so they could have a discussion and part of what was said came from Johnny telling my friend these exact words: " I was a f---ing drug addict"

The only way to heaven is not through a church, it's through Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus said "No man come to the Father but by Me". He didn't say no man come to the Father but by my church, He said ME. ME being Jesus Himself.

J.Robertson reads and interprets ALL scripture based on his errant theology; instead of correctly interpreting scripture to develop a correct and biblical theology. Johnny Robertson CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH - that why he sticks to his C of C Dogma - he has no character, and has a smart-mouth to boot - he is a shameful excuse for a "gospel preacher." Matt 7:21

You respond pretty much the same as the man you don't like, Mr. Robertson. You seem to be very much like him. Maybe that is the reason you can't get along with him and others.

Where is methodist, baptist, catholic, pentacostal, etc. mentioned in God's Word? Please let me know. The Church of Christ is mentioned in Rom. 16:16, and we read in Eph. 4:4 that there is "1" body, not hundreds of bodies. Your personal interpretations go against God's word. Why did Jesus say in Matt. 7:21, "not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven? Because there's only one way to get to heaven. Believe, confess, repent, be baptized.

Johnny Robertson's "Church of Christ" is not in God's Word.
He has hijacked a name and put it on the sign outside of his sanctuary. But he and his followers are NOT acting as Christ has asked of us.
So far as "one" body goes, what about the seven churches of Revelation? The church at Berea? The churches at Corinthi and Thessolonika. NONE of these were in perfect accord with each other, either. But Christ still counted them among His flock.
Jesus would not count Robertson's church as His.

The 7 churches of asia were 7 congregations of Christ's body! No congregation is perfect, just as no human is perfect. Only Christ is perfect. Paul, while on his missionary journeys, helped set up congregations at different locations. He didn't set up a baptist church here, or a catholic church there; The congregations had to be of the same teaching. John Robertson is just a man-we are supposed to follow God's word and not man's. I respect you for admitting what many do not: that no congregation is perfect. So it is that denominations have come about, and I think there is even biblical precedent for them. Any congregation that is earnestly seeking Christ IS a part of His body, whether that congregation is Baptist, Methodist, or whatever.
Neither is there any shame in admitting that we ALL now see through a glass darkly.
The "Church of Christ" is as much a consequence of that as the Baptists, Catholics, or anyone else.

In Matt. 7:21, Jesus says that the one who does "the will" of My Father will enter heaven. He doesn't say "the wills." There is only one way into heaven, and that is in Christ's church. I don't see any scripture that supports denominationalism, when Christ himself says there is only ONE way into heaven. How can the baptist church, or methodist church be correct when the bible doesn't mention them? They are manmade. I want to hear your belief on how these "churches" could be saved. Thank you.

You are making works more important than faith. More important than grace.
What you are preaching is not Christianity. It is "Churchianity".
And the Baptist and Methodist churches are no more "manmade" than the Church of Christ denomination either (and it IS a denomination).

How can you say salvation is not through Christ's church?? Did John the baptist die for you? Did Paul die for you?? NO, Christ did. Please read Ephesians 5:22-33. The church is the body of Christ, and Christ is the head of the church. And also, I agree that works are not more important than faith!! I agree with you. Baptism is not a work of man, but of God! It says so in Colossians 2:12. You have no scripture to back your argument! Every comment you've made is your personal opinion.

You are using circular reasoning to argue something which is NOT in the Bible. And you have spectacularly failed in that much.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that salvation comes through the church. The church is the body of Christ, and exists as a result of our faith in Him. But the church is not in and of itself a REQUIREMENT for salvation.
And quite honestly... you aren't making any sense.

I am quoting from God's word. You are saying that God isn't making sense. God's word is so simple! Christ's body is the church! When you are baptized into Christ, you are baptized into His body(Acts 2:41). Why is that so hard for people to understand? Christ's church is not a denomination made by man. Christ is the head. Please tell me how one can be saved outside of Christ?

You are right. The church is the body of Christ, not a denomination.
The body of Christ is ALSO made up of ALL who follow Christ. And that is something that DEFIES denominational definition.
The body of Christ is composed of many Baptists, many Methodists, many Presbyterians, many Catholics... and many who do not consider themselves denominational at all.
God alone can know and judge who belongs to Him. Not you or I, dude. And not the "Church of Christ" denomination either.

@kwerky I guess you just don't understand the reason that the preacher is telling the things he does. He and all true Christians do NOT want anyone to go to hell. People are seeking what can fill up the empty space in their soul, and so many fill it with something that resembles Christianity, but is only partially or sometimes close to being right, but there is something in God's word they don't like, so they give up or accept something "less than", thinking that it will be enough for God.

It's *supposed* to be about Christ and Him alone. It is NOT about whether this ritual or that one is "correct"! What you are promoting is legalism at best, and another gospel entirely at worst.

@kwerky So, I suppose, anything you might dream up to do in "worship" service is A-okay to God? Have you actually studied the gospel? We believe that where God is silent, we should be silent, too. I have heard men and women who give their "testimony" who do not believe in baptism for the remission of sins, even though JESUS himself said to do it. I know they have been fooled by a false teacher.

@alwayspatriotic Jesus Himself never said to be baptized "for the remission of sins". If you are referring to the final verses of Mark, they don't belong in the Bible to begin with: they aren't found in the earliest manuscripts at all!
