But you're also talking about the metals absorbing deflating paper financial assets, much of what will be destroyed, especially if we start seeing more defaults. So, basically, you're wrong to assume the transfers will all occur at current prices and with no deflation of assets. That said, I still agree with the second half of your point. Already, US banks are being forced to buy bonds, e.g.
