  • Nice one! I remeber that on TV when I was a kid on a show called "Twang-Bang-Kerrang"..the Gary Moore & Jerry Donahue footage was cool too :D Great Posting :D

  • Massive but nimble hand - I so remember this from when I first watched it on TV!

  • 3:48 just reminded me how much I like that song...

  • Hits include; calling all the heroes, kiss like judas, err... struggling a bit here and I'm a big fan of the band. But all credit to them they were amazing live. They made 3 albums and that was it.

  • That's just where yer wrong matey... have a look on amazon.

  • Oh yes it is!

  • can anyone tell me one of there hits cause im fucked if i know lol

  • calling all the heroes 1986

  • Kiss Like Judas

  • These guys rule.

  • Kudos to the uploader for this, however I've uploaded a better quality version - if interested, it's at wI5QCem2fx4 - or check out my videos.

  • is that terry nutkins mowing the lawn???

  • Actually I thought it was Fish from Marillion mowing the lawn!!

  • No it's definitly Nutkins..... because i asked him when he was mowing Mariah Careys lawn last week...

  • Is that definately Terrance Nutkins?

  • sorry it probably is!!

  • oh no it isn't ......

  • Francis Dunnery Tall Blonde Helicopter UK Tour announced, check the Francis Dunnery web site for details.

  • Of course I'll be in Egremont for the charity weekend!

  • I've got a decent copy of this on a VHS tape; I'll upload it soonish.

  • C'mon son. Where is it? By this you mean you

av a decent copy on VHS of their Old Grey WT

where they played 'once around the world'. Can't wait....you gotta upload it. Let me know when you do. No....I have no idea how to do it! johnny

  • No idea how you inferred that! No, I mean that I have a good copy of the original Equinox programme.

  • They appeared on Old Grey Whistle Test. Did they play OATW on it? Anyone see it?

  • OGWT was my first experience of It Bites and I was blown away!! Great band and criminally underrated!

  • Frank's coming to my house in a couple of weeks!! Can't wait. Can't sleep I'm so excited! I'm hosting his acoustic 'house concert' gig...in my house(which is in the U.S.). You can book him via his website. Get his 'lets go do what happens' solo album. V. good. The drumming on I-95 is a deep enigma.

  • It'll be a wonderful experience!

    Take care.

    Lat.

  • Irecorded this live-then lost it!Remember superb Jerry Donahue Claw.Anyone know how to get whole programme?

  • Flipo con Fran Dunnery. Este es el mejor album de IB. Fran eres el rey de las escalas cromaticas. Well I freak out with this king of chromatic guitar scales named Fran Dunnery. You're great. Why did you split up with IB? I don't like the new IB anymore. They play all themes half a step down.

  • I too have been after this for years. Thanks again for posting.

  • What a brilliant band - U gotta love it bites, best Cumbrian export after Eddie Stobart !!

  • Dude how did you find this tape? I watched it on a really crappy old tape that my Dad recorded. I was thinking about copying it onto dvd and then putting it on the internet but youve saved me the trouble now!

  • I had this taped too but lost it! Great band, saw them live back in 1988 on the tour of this lp.

    Awesome!

  • yeah thanks for posting this ...i had it too and lost it ...good one....

  • Oh maaan! classic footage, I've been looking out for the original Equinox footage, I have it on VHS somewhere. Bloody brilliant...rated and favourated -thanks for posting.

  • can you tell us if the 7:28 of the utube clip covers all the dunnery section of the original program ?

+ Is there a way you could digitize your vhs ?

    thankkkkss !

  • Hi gmmaj7,

actually I never never saw the original broadcast. I downloaded this 7 minutes directly from the internet. I asked down here Starpupil, for he wrote he has the full video, to post some more...

    Cheers.

    Lat.

  • Ive seen the original program a couple of times, and this section is all that is on the original, so it is complete.

  • This is from Channel 4 TV's "Equinox" programme documenting the history of the electric guitar, "Twang, Bang, Kerang", shown 20th August 1987.

  • I've still got this episode on video and watch it when i have an IT BITES moment(which is quite often)GREAT BAND......

  • Starpupil,

many people asks for the full video... I only have these few minutes, come on, why don't you post some more?

    :))

    Cheers,

    Andrea

  • Those are some tiny shorts.

  • Indeed, doncha just love prog-rockers !

  • is this the entire video? it's so cool to be behind the scenes on one of the best progrock albums of all time...

does anyone else have the full copy? or any other 'off the record' clips of the original it bites in action...

these guys brightened south africa for me in the late 80s. (and it was pretty daark in those days...)

    peace!

  • To all who thank me... thank you for watching :) Francis told me he was wearing sunglasses because he was extremely tired!!!

    Lattugo

  • I'm stunned! Thanks for posting this. I was half expecting Vic Reeves turning up or Lou and Andy off Little Britain (that voiceover!!) but still, great band - fantastic, original music and surely world domination awaited.....but so did lines of various illicit substances...same old story.

  • sooo nice!!!thanx for the video!!!

  • I played this senseless on VHS as a kid. Still loving it. Saw Frank live in Sheff this year. Nice one Frankie Boy. IBAS mo 11!

  • Wow, what a rare gem. I've never seen this before and it blew me away. It bites: Would have been the biggest band in the world....if only. Thanks for posting.

  • I looked on YouTube specifically for this clip - thanks!

I remember it when it was on TV, can't remember the name of the documentary.

I went to see Frank in Manchester about 4 weeks ago - great stuff.

  • :) Cheers.

    Lattugo

  • Name of the documentary? This was an Equinox special, I believe. Saw it when it was aired on UK TV. Great to see it again. :)

  • It Bites finest hour( Well, 14 mins..)Strangely the solo at 6:40 didn't make the final mix. Will have to post my acoustic version of this. The Jerry Donahue clip in this documentary was also top notch, the beak & the claw. He was a decent guy as well.

  • I notice the trill at the end of each section ended up being changed also. Frank plays it double tempo on the final recording.

  • Thanks for posting this. My old video copy is long gone. The show aired about a year before Once around the World came out on LP. It was a long wait after hearing them on the TV show to getting the record. It's still the greatest of their output as a band.

  • Them's some short shorts the sound engineer was wearing - or are they Y Fronts? Seriously though,It Bites rocked. Huge fan.

  • What an unbelievable track - over produced or not - it shows their true ability as musicians. Incredible.

  • Amazing memories.

Interestingly, after Once Around The World, Francis Dunnery was quoted to say that It Bites would never make an album like that again. He thought it too over the top - they were trying to prove their technical ability and went too far. Mark Wallis, the sound engineer on this album, is today one of the most sought after producers/engineers in the world.

  • i have this on video somewhere , great to see it again :)

  • this is a fantastic band and fantastic musicians i follow them from their start bye from milan

  • Thanks for posting..great stuff! I remember they came to the Princess Charlotte in Leicester in '87. No-one could believe that a band that young could be technically that good..but they defied categorisation, and the industry hates that...

  • this must be some documentary with it bites album "around the world" recording process resembling part of the machinations of the record industry. "recording starts in the afternoon" so the commentary goes.

  • This was a show called equinox about guitar playing and guitarists. What a band !! But i remember seeing them playing Haircut 100 and Visage covers in 83/84

Even then Frank was domething else.
