I must say the depth of Pennie's pocket is considerable. He has his own style. In a jam like this you might expect him to chop it up like them gospel drummers, but people who know his work with the DEP know the guy's all about patterns and applied rudiments. That's what I love about his playing. So concise. Still one of my drumming heroes.

This certainly isn't one of Chris' strongest performances but to say he's weak isn't a fair statement. Do you know how talented Chris Pennie really is? He's a Berklee College graduate and played in The Dillinger Escape Plan. I'd agree that he could of been abit more creative and musical in this performance but this is a jam between two superb musicians, he didn't swamp it with chops and random crap like alot of drummers would do, he played pretty much all that was called for in this situation
