my quill stem is being a bitch to take off. i think its rusted together. i tried hammering it. twisting but it wont give in. any suggestions on how to take it out with out damaging anything? and i dont have that cherry pick around. so yeah man if you or anyone can help me out with some ideas.
too late now but be extremely careful if your grinding the brake cable guides as you can destroy the structural integrity of the bike dude! Personally i just leave em on in my builds
@tangohop2400 Top- down doesn't work all the time. I can spin my stem around but it WILL not move up. Also the stem bolt decided to snap too...I'm not impressed!!
mine was stuck like that too and i hit the top of it down to release it, worked pretty good. going to paint it all black and lime green this winter break

hitting top down with a rubber mallet works. It reverses the wedge. But thanks for the brute force method too...
