Why does everyone talk about emotions. People love the music because of how it is sounding to you. This song is awesome stoned by the way...I listen to all of MUSE songs sober or high or drunk. all three make their music sound awesome.
@promathia1 And people Grow up too. Cant make people kids forever. We live then we die. Muse made awesome music back then and they still do now. Their new album is just really Classical because they have no real genre. they r an experimental group. Maybe the next album will be hip hop XD
@promathia1 how can you be sober and drunk/ high at the same time?????? The only way I can think that is possible is being stoned while listening to Sober off of Showbiz. Either way still an amazing song :D
I'm sick of this RETARDED Muse vs Radiohead... you know what? they are both fantastic music bands, we could use a few more of them. Radiohead started something that Muse did also start, they both toke their very own way in a symilar music style.. i like both bands, still i preffer Muse cos they used to create really deep and dark music. I really hope they go back to that way, or else i rather see them stopping. Radiohead never really managed to show me that dark and deep side.
@Aphorism89 agreed with first two sentences, but otherwise, no. radiohead has a very dark and deep side, my all time favorite is videotape, which fits the description of "dark and deep" perfectly. and if muse stops, than im fucked, because their is no band that competes with muse. for me atleast.
I wonder if they're showing some sort of respect (as they often do) by using those rain sounds? Kind of reminds me of that song by The Doors.... Riders on the Storm..... I like Muse, not only for their music, by for their respect of, and for, music. Just another reason why I like Muse so much :D
Muse and I are on the same wavelength. Everyone has their own preference on who's a better musician, etc., but for me, Muse just taps into my emotions. If I were to use music to explain how I feel, it'd be a Muse song.
Muse was never influenced by Radiohead. They were compared to Radiohead by journalists billions of years ago whilst recording Showbiz. Because they're producer produced a radiohead album a few months beforehand. But I came to this song, cause I can hear similiar styles most in here.
Thats really not as fair as great as muse are they are the more full out modern rock version of radiohead, if you listen to radiohead you find little things which they introduces ito the song to make it better (and shows better composition FACT) which you could easily miss. Muse are a bit on the surface, their music is great but a bit plain and simple. it is to standardised, radiohead break musical boundaries and you cant misconstrue emotional music with moody music. muse are almost too easy
@gozondor A valid point, and as I personally prefer muse I may be wrong, but I think that Muse is breaking these boundaries as well, listen to a song like map of the problematique - no other song I've ever heard got music like that
OK EVERYBODY! Every composer has to start w/ an influence, otherwise music would be quite dull. Both Radiohead and Muse might sound similar to the untrained ear, but if you listen closely you can catch the differences, ie:
Radiohead is much more Beat-based, relying on the tempo, the drums, and the guitar to take hold. Vocals come second.
Muse is switched with Vocals coming in first, relying more on Harmony.
The man sits, cross-legged, still as a statue. He raises his head. Is it time? Unless it had already passed? It does not matter now. Nothing matters at all. All emotions have been discarded, only his power remains. POWER he thinks. He wills. He wants. He must have. The only thing that makes a difference. He opens his eyes. They are the eyes of darkness.
Sorry, kind of just randomly wrote. It kind of got off-track. Ah, well...
I've liked muse for quite some time now, and I always see that they " ripped off radiohead." Well I looke up some of their songs, and personally think their style is completly different.
I suffer from Tinnitus (constant ringing sound in my ears). Once, I decided to listen closely to the noise. I could have sworn that behind the ringing, i could hear the intro to this song :D
@franconbean I too am a tinnitus "sufferer" since I was a little seedling... I hear all kinds of muse-like stuff in it. I fall asleep to it every night, I'm used to it
Muse is the kind of band that is many levels above the rest. I think this is because they seem to have this sort of Muse philosophy that they abide by, thus tying some theme of apocalypse, the fate of our world, and the whole universe into their music. This gives their music a unified quality...unlike some artists who crossover to different genres throughout their careers, Muse has inevitably concocted a unique and artful genre, with the help of the virtuoso Matt Bellamy.
@chodesickle relax kid, im a huge muse fan, after 2 years of intensive listenin i can nearly dream every song of them, and hey, aja is right, muse is influenced by radiohead, so what.
Radiohead is a great band also so being influenced by them is an honour, not a shame.
*looks around, prepares to die* I think Radiohead is better. But Muse is hardly a rip-off as many RH fans have claimed. Only Muse's first album sounds like Radiohead. Everything after that is obviously influenced by RH, but with it's own distinct style. Muse is more RATM than Radiohead anyway, just listen to the guitar. The comparisons stopped making sense after Origin of Symmetry IMO.
Muse is better then radio head, just sayin an to all u haters out there sayin muse is worse or they tried to copy radio head well how bout u take one of radio heads cd's an shove it up ur ass till it comes out ur mouth
@InterstellarBuuurst I will elaborate a bit. Radiohead is a great group, however, Muse is a step up of that. Granted Radiohead may have inspried them in the beginning, but I see much more of Jeff Lynne and Queen in their work. For as much as I've held the latter in my top 5 over the years, I believe Matthew Bellamy is the best composer - guitarist - vocalist and keyboardist of the modern era. That of course is my humble opinion. By the way, who inspired R.H.? Maybe the Moody Blues?
@speedofsound21 well then I am sorry to tell you friend, but you are truely a fucking idiot, fuck your humble opinion, I want war. Muse is a radiohead ripoff and you know it and so does everyone else. You should get your ass kicked and raped by jonny greenwood's guitar for saying something stupid like that. @4TheMus1c Maybe they did sound like Radiohead in there earlier stuff but now there a completely different band. They also don't have just one genre, so you can't really compare them to anyone.
@ChameleonKyle Screw you man I did not say that. Muse will never do it better or achieve what radiohead has achieved. What part of "rip off" did u not understand?? Muse will only do it better the day a blind man tells a deaf man that he saw a legless man walk on water.
@FOFballer wrong how? they said they were inspired by radiohead. why the hell are you so butt hurt about that? i haven't even insulted them in any way, yet you reply with that? sort your life out.

@manco82 muse are vain shameless ripoffs, that's a FACT, hear the distored vocals the erie druming, the dark atmospheric sound, even if you says that this song cames out before, is way more probably that bellamy stoled radiohead records from their studio than he wrote this song by himself, HE CAN'T DO NOTHING BY HIMSELF. enough said

@CloverTime419 A song is a composition in which vocals are the main aspect of the work. Whereas a piece is usually, but not always, composed of mainly instruments. muse is space rock , opera that does not not even come close to emo....emo songs do not have falsettos in them anyways...just, omg. i do not get people anymore....Muse is the best band then and now
muse isnt emo, emo songs are rock songs about love with overloaded fellings, muse isn´t emo cos their songs have the perfect amount of felling, aren´t about love, and have a dark freaked out felling.
I really wish there was an option to turn off Youtube comments. I'm sick of coming onto videos and getting annoyed at such things as people talking about emo on a fucking Muse video!
i support muse an buy there stuff, but im just saying if you buy there albums not online then it doesnt support them at all, only the store because the store already bought them in bulk.
@apple1231230 Stores send the CDs back when they don't sell. New releases from major bands are sold to record stores at a guaranteed sell. Anything that doesn't sell in a set time (usually a month) may be sent back for a full refund. But thanks for trying.
@bobek3x yeah this is a lot like ther kid a, amnesiac or hail to... stuff. the detail here is that this song cames out more than one year before than those albums. the eerie showbiz b-sides proofs that muse clearly influencess radiohead.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@ToolSucksAss i knew that songs before. these ones are electrorock, prog rock or minimalistic rock. (both bands have lots of influences from that type of musicians) but thats not the poin here. these songs are very distant of the Kid A´s or Showbiz´s experimental eerie/dark/sad/mad/sick style. these songs always resembles me their In Rainbows album, but not Kid A or Amnesiac.
i have all there albums, i just don't have any b sides that werent on hullabaloo.. which makes me sad :( i really want host.. and twin... and pink ego box... all of them lol

well people say my chemical romance is emo to ...i think people are too caught up on this emo crap
honestly emo as it is today is stupid and i hate it ....but emo like music ....is pretty cool
XstormheartX 1 year ago
@promathia1 Actually it's progressive rock. Emo is the epitome of talentless bands.

TheShredress 1 year ago
muse isnt emo, emo songs are rock songs about love with overloaded fellings, muse isn´t emo cos their songs have the perfect amount of felling, aren´t about love, and have a dark freaked out felling.

I really wish there was an option to turn off Youtube comments. I'm sick of coming onto videos and getting annoyed at such things as people talking about emo on a fucking Muse video!
BlueVane 1 year ago 6
Muse are not emo.
Song is just like every time.....beautiful.

i support muse an buy there stuff, but im just saying if you buy there albums not online then it doesnt support them at all, only the store because the store already bought them in bulk.
apple1231230 1 year ago
@apple1231230 Stores send the CDs back when they don't sell. New releases from major bands are sold to record stores at a guaranteed sell. Anything that doesn't sell in a set time (usually a month) may be sent back for a full refund. But thanks for trying.
bertuzzifan 1 year ago
@apple1231230 when it comes to bands the money isnt in album sales it in tours and festivals

@jetpackblues more like radiohead
bobek3x 1 year ago
@bobek3x yeah this is a lot like ther kid a, amnesiac or hail to... stuff. the detail here is that this song cames out more than one year before than those albums. the eerie showbiz b-sides proofs that muse clearly influencess radiohead.
aa428507 1 year ago
@aa428507 Radiohead were experimenting with electronic ''eerie sounding'' music way before Kid A and Showbiz.
Just listen to these examples:
=On8ajxxQNJI <----Meeting In the Aisle
=OWibEwJLzRs <---Climbing Up the Walls
=mcYu5Vg_YH8 <----Talk Show Host
=97EOxs2NUc8 <----Fitter Happier
=NnbS7uKw6rA <-----Palo Alto
=46fslWTGFaY <---Rabbit In Your Headlights (Thom+DJ Shadow)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
@ToolSucksAss i knew that songs before. these ones are electrorock, prog rock or minimalistic rock.

Lirian04 1 year ago
@Lirian04 Porque muse ahora mismo son unos vendidos a la industria discográfica. Desde mi punto su decadencia partió del Black Holes and Revelations.
