@Supablonde1 no its not dumb at all Mr Collins is one of pride and prejudice movie characters he is such a creep. watch the movie i highly recommend both versions 1995 and 2005 when your done watching them tell me what do you think
@soso0able I had a nap and it came back to me!!!! lol!!! i remember Mr Collins proposing to Lizzie (Keira Knightly) and the creepy way he was looking at all of the sisters at the breakfast table!!! i actually have the movie and love it but totally forgot that was his name!!! =)
LOL although I prefer the 2009 version, Elton in this one is the best....he's as creepy as he should be. He was too hot in the 2009 one, it was distracting hahaha.
@micalikespie It's definitely cute. It's just an odd sight considering the types of things I usually see my supposed "gentleman" brother drinking out of. That's like the complete opposite of a Mega Gulp. XD
@micalikespie Way back in Emma's time? Oh, totally. They went the whole way and had little crumpets, scones, and their action figures set out to join in the fun. XD
i don't know but gwyneth paltrow expressions from 7:03 onwards reminds me of taylor swift ^_^....this used to be my favorite version but when i saw the 2009 version i fell in love with it...but i still like this one
Poor Emma! After all the trouble she went through. But she really should have left Harriet alone to marry the other guy. *I love celery root!* This movie is hilarious!
@mwrenn30 yes grew up watching both this and clueless love them both! the way they made clueless is really smart like all the characters match so perfectly haah
@xrainbowponiesx -It was Jane Austen's joke. her father was a clergyman... and she used it to make a comment about the church in England, and how often the clergymen were odd fellows who often did not reflect the character they were supposed to have. Like Mr.Collin's in Pride & Prejudice and his not really marrying for love... and the way he bragged all the time.
Faustiandreams- who is Australian? I don't know many Aussie actors apart from Nicole Kidman and Geoffrey rush so please enlighten me anyone. Mr Elton is disgusting, but not as cad as mr Collins

OMG Hugh Jackman playing Mr, Knightly, That would be awesome!!! and he is british too so I think he would be perfect for the part, he is strong and Handsome.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have one question for Emma, what happens after these people get married and find out that their not the way you say they are? Harriet doesn't have a caring nature, she's a gullible twit who follows everything Emma says. Wont these people be unhappy in their marriage.
Harriet's easily led and not the brightest, but she's not a twit and she is caring. She's essentially 'good-natured and sweet-tempered', so much so that Emma thinks that she will be happy with any good-natured man. I agree with you that Emma's attempts at match-making are misguided, but I felt I had to degend poor Harriet!
Mr. Woodhouse has a lot of physical ailments, is sick a lot. I believe he's just afraid that sickness will follow them home and affect himself, actually.
LOL i love 9:31, that's like my favourite funny moment in the whole movie ! haha
*leans in* "allow me to-"
i think its nice how they have more scenes of Mr Knightley & Emma together
their romance in the book was so sweet =) (even though you couldn't tell they were in love until the end...the hints were extremely extremely subtle throughout)
I really love this adaptation of Emma. It is one of my favourite Jane Austen novels. Some people have commented on how this film version is not faithful to the book but I disagree, I think for the most part it is faithful. Obviously they can't follow word for word (although if this could be done that would be remarkable and appreciated). But everyone is entitled to their own opinion:)
Yeah, I agree. And really other than Frank Churchill being in a few more scenes I don't think it deviates all that much.
