  • i hope im not intruding...what a freaking creep

  • Is he in the one with Keira Knightly? =)

  • I know this sounds dumb, but can someone tell me who's Mr Collins????

  • @Supablonde1 no its not dumb at all Mr Collins is one of pride and prejudice movie characters he is such a creep. watch the movie i highly recommend both versions 1995 and 2005 when your done watching them tell me what do you think

  • @soso0able I had a nap and it came back to me!!!! lol!!! i remember Mr Collins proposing to Lizzie (Keira Knightly) and the creepy way he was looking at all of the sisters at the breakfast table!!! i actually have the movie and love it but totally forgot that was his name!!! =)

  • Lol OMG the ending.

  • He's 16 years older than her? PLEASE. Who are they trying to fool?

  • @disneyworldcrazy1 Actually he's 11 years older

  • i just realized this now that mr. elton plays the nightcrawler from x-men.

  • mr.elton comes and casually sits in between emma and mr.knightely

  • "she looks so fetching in the arms of her aunt" HEE HEE

  • I love Emma's reaction at 4:51. (:

  • this whole scene is hilarious haha.

  • Haha! I can tell he wanted to do more than shake her hand! ;)

  • @pinkperel I love both mr Darcy and mr Knightley. I cant tell who's better because they are very very different :)

  • good movie

  • What a CREEPER !!!!!!!! Jeez get a grip Elton .

  • i love and hate Mr. collins at the same time

  • Mr. Floop! Mr. Floop!

  • I have to be the one to say it:

Mr Darcy is waaayy better than Mr.Knightley

  • @pinkperel In your opinion. In mine... I find it hard to decide!

  • @micalikespie Lol its probably because Pride and Prejudice was my first Jane Austen Book and Movie, so I just always love Mr. Darcy:)

  • @pinkperel Me too! But I still luff this movie.

  • @micalikespie Ya me too:) I would probably like this movie more tho if I read the book... is it a good book?

  • @pinkperel The book is fanTAStic. It's wonderful, and even more crazy. :)

  • LOL although I prefer the 2009 version, Elton in this one is the best....he's as creepy as he should be. He was too hot in the 2009 one, it was distracting hahaha.

  • There's just something very disturbing about seeing a full grown man drinking out of a tiny, little tea cup.

  • @SuprSingr I find it attractive. :D

  • @micalikespie It's definitely cute. It's just an odd sight considering the types of things I usually see my supposed "gentleman" brother drinking out of. That's like the complete opposite of a Mega Gulp. XD

  • @SuprSingr I know, right? I remember when I was little and I used to have "tea parties..." I wonder if any boys ever had tea parties... LOL

  • @micalikespie Way back in Emma's time? Oh, totally. They went the whole way and had little crumpets, scones, and their action figures set out to join in the fun. XD

  • @SuprSingr I bet!

  • @SuprSingr I'm afraid drinking from a worlds best farter mug wasnt the thing in these days, my dear. What's a poor gentleman to do?

  • @FellowTownsman Lol, I'm not too sure. XD

  • "Emma! Be careful! The baby! It might carry an infection..."

    I love Mr. Woodhouse...

  • i love alan cumming

  • The last moment..Oh my goodness, I thought Mr. Elton was such a creep! ; w;

  • ~Am I the only one who noticed that the guy who plays Mr. Elton is the guy who played Floop in Spy Kids?

  • @eternalstormy yea thats how i knew it was him i tholught it was funny how he played this guy

  • @eternalstormy Nope, that was the first thing I noticed. Then I noticed that Ms. Bates was Moaning Myrtle. :D

  • 9:31 :D :D :D

  • 7:51 - Mr. Knightley's face behind creep dude-priceless!!!

  • @wendyoffroad I know, right?! It's a wonder he didn't burst out laughing right then and there. XD

  • " No thank you for thinking im thoughtful!" hahaha!

And knightleys face when mr Elton sat down between them! I just love Knightley!!!!

  • I love celery-root, too. Can I have Mr. Elton?

  • i don't know but gwyneth paltrow expressions from 7:03 onwards reminds me of taylor swift ^_^....this used to be my favorite version but when i saw the 2009 version i fell in love with it...but i still like this one

  • 7:02 rofl Mr.Elton sits in between them sheesh, Mr.Knightley and Emma are all like Wtf?...

  • i love celery root ;)

  • Mister Elton is kind of a sleaze!

  • elton! jeez - take a hint.

  • Mr. Knightley face at 3:45 is like "God, not AGAIN" XD He's hilarious!!

  • I love how Mr. Knightley says in 7:33 "no" it´s so mocking and...well him in general!

  • @INTERNETGOLD6434: This section is covered in chapters 10-15 of the novel.

  • Mr elton strangely reminds me about... me! when I was 6 years old and younger I'd tap people or pull their sleeves if I wanted someone attention

  • Poor Emma! After all the trouble she went through. But she really should have left Harriet alone to marry the other guy. *I love celery root!* This movie is hilarious!

  • Elton is such a douche.

  • what chapter is this in the book?

  • Mr. Collins is creepy indeed; but Mr. Elton is just plain ANNOYING.

  • Elton is pissing me off :L

  • " I love... CELERY ROOT!" "......."

    LOL!

  • Have you ever noticed that the film clueless is based on Emma

    It's the modern day version

  • @mwrenn30 yes, and theres even an indian version called Aisha

  • @mwrenn30

Thinking about it now your right. They even made sure that the hair colors were the same.

  • @mwrenn30 yes grew up watching both this and clueless love them both! the way they made clueless is really smart like all the characters match so perfectly haah

  • fate has left us alone for a reason. LOL!

  • Celery root!

  • Well, her plans back fired...let's hope Ms. Smith can still accept Mr. Martin's proposal

  • I simply love...I love celery root!!

  • hahahaha mr. elton is SUCH a creep!! xD

  • Mr.Elton = creeper. Though i have to say Mr.Collins will always be the creepiest.

  • @debbz02 AHAHAAH So true!!!

  • @debbz02 ur right. Not even Mr. Elton can top Mr. Collins at being a wierdo creep. :D

  • @debbz02

    Sooo true!

  • Mr. Elton is like the biggest pet peeve a woman fears. lol

  • Mr. Elton is so funny. Poor Emma has her own plans turned on her.

  • the religious ones are always the weird mental cases...

  • @xrainbowponiesx not in sense and sensibility:)

  • @xrainbowponiesx That is just a stereotype. In real life, not many fit that image.

  • @xrainbowponiesx -It was Jane Austen's joke. her father was a clergyman... and she used it to make a comment about the church in England, and how often the clergymen were odd fellows who often did not reflect the character they were supposed to have. Like Mr.Collin's in Pride & Prejudice and his not really marrying for love... and the way he bragged all the time.

  • ROfl - love Mr Knightley's expressions in that scene!

  • emma, be careful! the baby.... it might have an infection

    PUAHHA

  • Mr. Knightley is so sexy. :)

    Jeremy Northam....... ;D

  • @lonesomelittlegirl Toni Collette (Harriet) is Australian.

  • omg!! Mr. Elton is creaping me out..and his annoying...ahaha funny

  • Faustiandreams- who is Australian? I don't know many Aussie actors apart from Nicole Kidman and Geoffrey rush so please enlighten me anyone. Mr Elton is disgusting, but not as cad as mr Collins

  • Alan Cummings is great as Mr. E!

  • wait...knightley is 16 years older than emma?!

  • yes

  • Such a sweet baby!

  • lol CELERY ROOT

  • 7:27 - 7:32 Mr. Knightly, so adorable.

  • i know, it's so funny!

  • 'good heavens...go back!!'

i so want an opportunity to say that...

  • i don't think people have eaten on bare tables those days.

  • 'and that- is the end of the letter' hhaha, this scene is so funny

  • @bobbywjch I know...and "I hope I'm not intruding" (as he wedges himself between them)

  • lol emma is such a good matchmaker

  • Mr.Elton's voice at the begining cracks me up..so girly!

  • Is there a specific reason that Mr & Mrs Weston never sit together at the table?

  • cattyrox, it was thought to be 'improper'. (use your imagination on that account)

so yes it was done intentionally.

  • In those times the proper etiquette at the dinner table was that a married couple couldn't sit together because the purpose of those dinners was to socialize with other people.

  • "Miss Smith?!?!" Bahaha! Always gets me! xxx

  • That insane worm, seating between them..

  • that was in the book also

  • irritating character don't u think? lol

  • I can´t stand it.

  • he whispers "allow me to..." then gets cut off

  • Ooh! I just heard that there will be a BBC adaptation of this showing in the autumn. Squealll!!! Sorry for the girliness but... SQUEALLLL!!

  • A moustache? In Austen's days? Give over! Gentlemen either had beards or were fully shaven. Mainy fuly shaven as tha displayed their use of servants to shave them (that they could actually afford one). There has never been a man with a moustache in any Austen adaptation on English tv. And there should be a pianoforte, not a harpcichord, in the background. And bad-tempered John Knightley? Bt as Elton and Knightley unite in their affection for Ema... haha

  • Emma was late! Mr. Knightly saw before she did. Mr Ellton has been had a thing for her!

  • "Celery root!" xD

  • Haha Emma is being a busy body in the beginning! Kinda cute though.

  • The last 5 seconds or so of this part are hilarious! Oh, goodness!

  • haha what does elton whisper in her ear?

  • I crack up every time I see Knightley's eyeroll at 7:52 . Too funny!

  • lol..he likes emma not harriet...

harriet seems kinda clumsy lol..poor cat.

  • IF only Mr Elton were a bit like Knightley, Emma 'd think again lol

  • lol he is so creeeeepy!

  • hahahaha he likes Emma not Harriet.

    I love Mr.Knightly.

    But I love mr.Darcy moreeee.

  • Everyone loves Mr. Darcy ^.^

  • I love Gwyneth dresses

  • LOL i just love this part! especially the one where elton totally being an annoying guy interrupting mr.knightley and emma! i've read the book and when i read it, i imagined mr.knightley to be hugh jackman LOL, when i saw this, i think this guy suits perfectly to be mr.knightley as well!! thank u for uploading!

  • but Hugh Jackman wouldn't have been bad either! :D

  • OMG Hugh Jackman playing Mr, Knightly, That would be awesome!!! and he is british too so I think he would be perfect for the part, he is strong and Handsome.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he's australian. but he would be SO HOT as Mr. Knightley. :)

  • You are right!!, I almost forgot that he was Australian like Nicole Kidmon!!!, he just plays a British!! Gentlemen so well I almost forgot LOL .

  • freak.

  • Comment removed

  • I knew it ... I knew Elton liked Emma but he is freaky lol!!

  • mr elton is sooo annoyng!!!

  • Miss Smith??? what sort of message should I sent to her???! hahahaha ... Miss SMITH????

  • what the letter said???? hahahaaaaaa

  • she is so pretentious

  • I have one question for Emma, what happens after these people get married and find out that their not the way you say they are? Harriet doesn't have a caring nature, she's a gullible twit who follows everything Emma says. Wont these people be unhappy in their marriage.

  • Harriet's easily led and not the brightest, but she's not a twit and she is caring. She's essentially 'good-natured and sweet-tempered', so much so that Emma thinks that she will be happy with any good-natured man. I agree with you that Emma's attempts at match-making are misguided, but I felt I had to degend poor Harriet!

  • haha, mr elton squeszing his ass between mr knightley and emma and during that whole scene mr knightley is trying his best not to laugh! lol

  • He's great.

I've just finished the book. I'm in love with Mr Knightley... (and with Mr Darcy, Mr Rochester, and a lot more of course)

  • Emma seems so much more of an idiot in the movie than in the book.

  • Mr Knightley is such a subtle flirter!

  • Emma be careful, the baby, it might have an infection

Her dad really doesnt like children its a wonder how he tolerated Emma as a child.

  • Mr. Woodhouse has a lot of physical ailments, is sick a lot. I believe he's just afraid that sickness will follow them home and affect himself, actually.

  • hhahahaahahahahahhhahhahaha

  • "no, thank you for thinking i am thoughtful" lol who would say that?? haha! thats y i love it!

  • mr. elton is so into emma...'can she not see it?' i mean, didn't she realize that?it's so obvious...

  • LOL i love 9:31, that's like my favourite funny moment in the whole movie ! haha

    *leans in* "allow me to-"

i think its nice how they have more scenes of Mr Knightley & Emma together

their romance in the book was so sweet =) (even though you couldn't tell they were in love until the end...the hints were extremely extremely subtle throughout)

  • That part , 9:31 had me laughing out loud. Hillarious!

  • I love it too.

  • I've just realised, Mr Elton is from Spy Kids, the one with the finger thingys as his guards etc.. :)

  • HAHAHA!!!

"No... thank you... for thinking I'm thoughtful"

Emma's face at 6:04-06! Priceless XD

    "I hope I'm not inruding!-Nooo." XD

"We can not allow that, can we Knightley?" KnightleyXD

  • hehe Mr Elton sits down between Emma and Mr. Knightley " I hope I'm not inruding" haha.... Mr. Knightley is the best! =D

  • "i am in a perfect state of warmness" lol

  • cute cute baby

  • I love the way how Mr.Knightley look at Emma every time *dreamlike*

  • Yeah, it's hard to see that in the book. I love him in the movie

  • Yes! It is much easier to believe the romance between the two. Even at the hand shake you could tell he liked her! <3 Knightley!!!

  • at 6:23

''...and that was the end of the letter''

    *emma's disappointed face*

    hahahaahhaha XD gotta luv emma.

  • Emma is so funny xD

  • Emma-she cracks me up! Hilarious!

  • I really love this adaptation of Emma. It is one of my favourite Jane Austen novels. Some people have commented on how this film version is not faithful to the book but I disagree, I think for the most part it is faithful. Obviously they can't follow word for word (although if this could be done that would be remarkable and appreciated). But everyone is entitled to their own opinion:)

  • Yeah, I agree. And really other than Frank Churchill being in a few more scenes I don't think it deviates all that much.

And this *is* the version that I think captures the spirit of Emma, with all her good intentionsdespite the disastrous outcomes of those intentions. lol.

  • I can't stand Mr. Elton! But I love Mr. Knightly!!!

  • Gosh, the look of Mr Knightley to Emma when she leave the room is so sweet.

    Like it so much

  • I like this...it's much lighter than most Jane Austen films :)

  • haha Emma just like grabs the kid and wont let hin interupt, with this crzy look in her eye XD

  • "Come, shake hands with me" - oh I loved how he didn't want to let her hand off :)

  • Mr Knightly is so sweet :)

  • lol I love how Emma subtly moves around so Harriet is walking next to Mr. Elton!

  • hahah i like how she's trying to listen to mr.weston and mr.elton keeps bugging her

so at the very end she sends him away to get her punch and is like "NO!- i mean, take your time =]*twitch*"

lol her face afterwards is funny

  • "Hungry! Mother."

Hahaha, I don't even think her mother is deaf! Miss Bates is the best.

  • *giggles hysterically* That entire proposal scene cracks me up so badly, but mainly when he whispers to her and she twitches. XD

I love this movie so much :D

  • 6:15 is hilarious. "Please". Emma gets so annoyed by Mr. Elton that her tone gets all off. Oh, starting at 7:51 it's also really funny how Elton is staring admiringly at Emma and Knightley notices and just smirks. Hahah! 9:31 always makes me laugh - "allow me to-" and Emma shudders.

The guy who plays Mr. Elton does a really great job at making him as annoying as possible.

  • Alan Cummings, awesome actor random bit of trivia plays night crawler in the Xmen movies lol
