also david millars a great bloke as he is now clean....well he should have been clean in the bloody first place...and maybe his book would not have sold so well...hey what do i know...its like drug takers clean up and then go around schools lecturing kids on how WRONG it is...completetly baffles me,,,they get a job out of it...lol
mark unfortunately the governing bodies in pro cycling have a very bad history of convincing the public they are on top of the drugs problem in cycling, too much hazing over the problem and falling out with each other on it and in the pocket of the sponsors also does not help.
There is no logic with some people. Either they are incapable of objective thought or they just like winding people up - which makes them very sad people if they've got nothing better to do
I fekin hate cheats with a passion. Fact is there are some using that know they cant be caught right now because there is not a test for it. But unlike 10 years ago, maybe 5, there are not that many drugs out there that cant be found. Get caught, life ban period.
YOU A IDIOT CAV, IF YOU TEST YOU GET CAUGHT IS SO WRONG, DOCTORS, NEW DESIGNER PED AND MASKING AGENTS AND MABYE GENE DOPING IS UNRECONISABLE SO I THINK IF YOUR WINNIN AT CYCLING YOUR A DRUGGIE. END OF
@ianrogers1990 Use your mind: if there´s doping in cycling, with so many controls, what about the others? Football, tennis... all those ones involve much more money than cycling, maybe that´s why it´s better not to move any crap from them, so let´s kill cycling everybody! it doesn´t matter anybody and we could say that we are fighting against doping (ironic mode on). F****** bastards!
@alexf1freak yes i know all sports have doping but cycling you have to say they all use where in football and tennis they dont, roger federer i know doesnt, nadal and others i have my suspicions and football in the nfl the guys are jacked and definatly on drugs, but in football and tennis you can win without drugs and beat the cheats in cycling you cant and i think this is the issue so for young riders wanting to win at cycling they will have to drug up. its bad these days in all sport i agre
doesn't add up man. the reality is that the 90% dopers who've been caught in the past 2 years havent been the winners, and so surely the guys who're winnin must be dopin as well
@truthe22 So true, guys like cavendish are fucking morons, we have been through this with Lance Armstrong, doping is prolific throughout cycling and whenever you have a ''clean'' athlete beating the dopers, you have to wonder. And i highly doubt its a ''few stupid people'' like cav says, its known to be rife THROUGHOUT the sport, which is why there is a federal investigation into it.
@NikonSanz To use our wonderful idiom: jog on, son. Cavendish wins races, therefore he is tested after each win. He is high profile. Therefore he is tested towards the upper end of the parameters. He is an olympic athlete within a clean British Cycling team whose sponsorship rests on being clean. Oh, and he can't climb for shit. And there is a federal investigation into BALCO, and that's only for the USA. No investigations in the Isle of Man or Great Britain.
Testing is can only test for signs of known substances, the pharmacists are YEARS ahead of the testers, and thats before we even talk about masking agents and other things. The tests have been beaten FOR YEARS in cycling, Armstrong claimed to be the most tested athelete in sport and was a PED user his entire career.
How many tests Did David Millar pass before he was caught? He's a british cyclist right?
@NikonSanz Cavendish was the most tested athlete in 2009/10 according to WADA. He rides for Britain, and the Isle of Man, in international events where they adopt a zero tolerance policy. If there is any doubt, you don't make the teams. And you continue to talk about Armstrong, and Balco, and now introduce David Millar who was brought up in the continental racing environment, and not through the British ranks unlike track cyclists like Thomas, Wiggins, Cavendish, Kennaugh et al.
@illocon Your point about testing is totally mute, the tests have been beaten FOR YEARS, being tested doesnt mean you are not a user, especially if you use masking agents, or something that can possibly clear your system before a competition that you used in training or something like that. Olympic althetes pass test after test whilst using PED's.
Sorry, I cannot believe Cycling has got the point where a clean rider is beating doped up rider and the tour de france is full of dopers.
@NikonSanz Nothing said about doped riders, or any riders from other countries; merely presenting the facts surrounding Cavendish. It is apparent that your reading comprehension is as poor as your arguments given your replies to my comments. Oh, and for the record, the word you were trying to use is moot, not mute. Though you should consider adopting the latter.
@illocon No worries, go and have a little read on how cyclists and other altheletes have been beating doping tests for many years and then comeback and tell me if the number of times an althete is tested means jack shit if the test canot detect what he/she is on.
@NikonSanz I think you need to do a lot more reading. I'm thinking you should start off in the baby and toddler section and work your way forward from there. After this has been completed then you may have the rudimentary skills to debate a point. That being said, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
@illocon Coming from the guy who is stupid enough to think passing drugs tests means you are clean, when cyclists and other athletes dope and pass them on a regular basis.
Have a merry xmas too, but as your tucking into your frozen turkey dinner for one, read up on how cyclists have been passing drug tests for years and years, tour france winners have never been caught and then admitted drug use later on their career.
@NikonSanz I hope Santa brings you the ability to walk away from an argument that you can't make and a debate that you are falling behind in. Crass generalisations of past actions have little bearing upon current events. And again, for a point of order, the contraction of 'you are' is 'you're' so you should have typed "as you're tucking into your frozen turkey dinner".
also david millars a great bloke as he is now clean....well he should have been clean in the bloody first place...and maybe his book would not have sold so well...hey what do i know...its like drug takers clean up and then go around schools lecturing kids on how WRONG it is...completetly baffles me,,,they get a job out of it...lol

blood doping shouldn't even be considered cheating, they just put their own blood back into themselves.

@illocon Okay Carol Vorderman, wake me up when your arguement gets past ''but he's tested loads of times''.
Newsflash: Atheltes in MANY sports have passed drug test after drug test.
Marion Jones, 160 test passed.....0 failed, a ped user throughout her career.
Bjarne Riis's, Tour de france winner, Never tested positive, yet admitted to PED use.
The Arguement that x number of test means your clean is fucking stupid, sorry, thats just a fact.
