  • I love the look of horror on Sal's wife's face when she see's his performance. I think she knows then.

  • BTW, Kelsey Sanders is the name of the actress playing the Ann Margret type character.

  • I actually think this commercial would have worked. This girl is less ditsy looking than Ann Margret.

  • I love it!!! And I am a big fan of Ann Margret

  • I wonder if Ann Margret has seen this. If she has, my guess she was ROFL!

  • oh thats crazy they dont sell it no more?

  • why was sal written out of the series?? they were right about one thing--- It wasn't ann-margret!!!! By a long shot

  • -______- this is bad.

  • Points for Peggy!!

Come on guys, Sal is homosexual but Ken is just a clueless frat boy.

And yes, Sal could have pulled that commercial off much better.

    He has the spirit.

  • its actually kind of funny

    and was patio cola real

this area is before my time

  • what is she singing? Bye Bye Sugar Hello Padio?

i know its a copy off of Bye Bye Birdie.

  • I like Sal's rendition. Anyone remember that? You think his wife suspects anything lol...

  • If she hasn't figured it out by now... I had expected her to clue in when they had Ken over for dinner.

  • Do you know where I can find it on here? That was awesome, it's like he was coming out to his wife via bye bye birdie and she was like wtf?

  • Brillante. Exacto a la vida real de un creativo publicitario "Está mal... porque está mal".

  • "It's not Ann-Margret" That's the comment I was looking for.

  • Great commercial...makes me wanna buy Patio cola!

  • Wow for all Ann-Margret fans--- the acting in mad men is superb- The choice to open the season with Ann-Margret for 3 episodes was Brilliant.. The actress palying the AD WAS GREAT -----BUT SHE WAS NO aNN-mARGRET AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ANN-MARGRET WAS A ONE OF A KIND--SINGER DANCER ENTERTAINER VEGAS MEGA STAR MOVIE SUPERSTAR AND MINI SERIES SIREN AND DISCO DIVA WHAT ELSE CAN ONE SAY?? WHATEVER ANN-MARGRET HAD -- SHE HAD it!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT TO SEE HER IN A PRIME TIME TOP RATED SHOW-

  • i think roger was right--Ann-Margret's screechy singing sounds innocent, genuine and playful (like Don said in the second episode), whereas this girl, being no Ann-Margret, just sounds shrill. add that to the fact that she's singing about sugar and losing weight and it just sounds fake and stupid.

  • You need some help. Seriously. Obviously my point was that as a homosexual he might not have been able to pull it off. Just as a straight man would not be the one to ask what gay men find sexy. And it was a bad idea, something only Peggy realized.

  • I like the "look" Peggy gave Don as she walked out.

I also liked the blond secretary who turned the lights on and off. Now that's from a lost era.

  • Did they not have to worry about copyright issues in the 60's? It's different lyrics but the same music - wouldn't Columbia Pictures have an problem with it? And I'm with Peggy Olson on this one - her voice, just like Ann Margaret's was terrible!

  • Behind the scenes, they would at least have to strike a deal to use the music. Ann Margaret was instructed to sing in a shrill, teenaged girl voice. Her imitator had to follow her lead.

Anyone who has tried to read the mind of a client, even when the client has given detailed instructions, can appreciate this situation.

  • She can't lick the bottom of Ann-Margret's shoes! NO sex appeal...zero compared to A-M! You either have it or you don't! LORD...no more Ann-Margret imitators! CRIMEY! I'll explain it for you...she ain't A-M! H E L L OOOOOO! Red

  • God this is annoying, they should use this on the guys in gitmo before they close down.

  • I actually liked the commercial.

  • I don't really get why it felt so "off" to the Patio reps. I mean, the singing was pretty screechy and awful, but it was what they asked for.

  • That's what is funny. It's exactly what the advertiser wanted, and they didn't like it!

  • I tried playing the Ann Margret footage next to this. It was pretty close. I hope someone can post an actual side-by-side comparison.

The actress subbing for Ann Margret did a great job, especially considering she isn't A.M.! I noticed the dress was a different color. I wonder why. I was impressed!

  • lol they did a good job with the ad, it's a little long but believable. I actually thought Sal was going to get the gig
