  • "Brothers and sisters I have none, but this man's father is my father's son."

The answer is actually the SON of the person asking, not himself.

  • The riddle actually doesn't make sense. "This man's father is my father's son." means the speaker is the father of 'this man'. "my father's son" (me) is "this man's father".

  • norm is sooooooooo baked

  • "Jean-Luc is gonna come by... my crazy frenchman uncle. So he gets in the cab, right? And the cab driver picks him up and he says "Hey frenchman, 'he says uh'... do you like riddles." He says "ah yes I like the riddles." "

  • @spiromilhouse you just made that hard....

  • I remember norm macdonald on mtv beach house

  • The internet trying to save some dude from a late night show? Like that will ever happen...

  • wheres parts 3 through infintiy plus 1... would be cool - alls I'm saying.

  • Wait, people find this homophobic?

I'm quite gay, and I think Norm is hilarious. Grow some testicles, fags.

  • @HylianSpirit haha thats if you're actually gay, that's the best thing i ever heard. well played, sir

  • Norm so pleased with himself when he interrupts Conan drinking with "Hello?" at 4:15.

  • its so funny how Norm calls out Andy on staying on the show. hes totally right. Andy had a sweet gig, and his career didn't go too far.

  • Jay Leno disliked this video 3 times cause he could never handle the awesomeness of Norm MacDonald

  • Norm is making me LOL during my college lecture right now.

  • Wouldn't the answer to the riddle be, "My son?" Hilarious, though

  • ohhhhmmmgsh so bad XD i love Nom

  • What's weird is how Norm looks like he's in his 40's, 50's and Conan looks like he's in his late 20's, early 30's and yet they're both the same age. Born on the same year with Conan being a couple months older. I always thought Norm was much older than Conan.

  • Pretty legit French Canadian accent...not the typical Quebec accent but close enough.

  • "Ugh Mr. Homophobic. Won't let a guy grind his ass into you."

  • @bigboylikesalsa What does being homophobic have to do w/this? Norm is straight...he did not want to experience a lap dance from a dude. As a gay, would you want a woman doing this to you? (assuming you are not bi)

  • @poojeanie2 that's what norm said in the video

  • ROFL! Whata hell happened at 4:17.....HELLO!

  • Who are those old ladies there in the front?

    Norm's the best.

  • 4:06 - 4:30 LOL XD

  • brilliance always.

  • "And they were like, uh, you know, Mr. Homophobe here won't let a dude grind his ass"

    I laughed so hard

  • old english

  • i'd like to meet the two people who didn't like it

  • Like Chaucer.

  • i laughed to tears watching those two videos !

  • Ever since I saw this interview every time I do a voice I do a one liner explaining my choice of voice over like "It's a woman ya know ... high voice."

  • There's a lot of Canada in his comedy, you'd know if you were Canadian or an American with a great sense of humour.

  • He is so funny when he is being interviewd.

  • i love when he throws in stuff like 'dirty arses' - who else would've said that?

  • I love how they just let norm ramble on, everything he says is pure gold

  • LOL I love how genuinely shocked he is once he realizes he dropped a bomb on network tv LOL

  • Dirty arses. LOL

  • "GAAHHH! LIQUIIID!" XD

  • I'd blow Norm for a drink!

    ... or for free. :)

  • @themasterbakerrr that's gay

  • This man's father is my father's son.. Isn't that.. My son? My son's father is my father's son, yeah?

I guess it's just some fucking cab driver in New York.

  • @Rehtomflow

    Your fathers son is you

  • @WFR Yeah.. And? The question is who is the man who's father is my fathers son. And that is my son.

  • Mindfuck. Your fathers son is you. The "question" is: who is the father. And that is you.

  • I'm really sorry if I'm wrong but I just don't get it.. :D This man's father is my father's son. So "this man" is my son?

I am my fathers son, so that mans father must be me. So that man must be my son.

  • Oh thats what you ment. Thats true. I thought you ment that the father is your son. But yes, "this man" is your son

  • Comment removed

  • @WFR Rehtomflow is correct. "This man's father" means a generation ahead of the man in question. The next portion, "is my father's son" equates to the speaker, you. Therefore, if you are the speaker, and if you are the man's father, than the man is your son.

Nevertheless, a funny story by Mr. Norm MacDonald.

  • @KingAvil No, Norm said the riddle correctly. This man's father is MY FATHER'S Son. Who is his father's son? Me (aka the taxi driver). Because he is the son of his father.

I don't understand where you guys are getting confused.

  • @thechester657 Right, my father's son is me, but the riddle wasn't asking who's my father's son, it was asking who is "this man." This man's father, is my father's son. This man is my son.

  • Comment removed

  • @ibeatrock lol actually now that I think about it y'all are right. man, I never was good with riddles.

  • @thechester657 No trouble, man. It's a tough one because at first it seems simple, then very difficult, which causes people to over-think.

  • what did norm say at 6:30 that conan got so upset about?

  • he said "fuckin" and conan though it'd be inappropriate in front of the old ladies who seemed to enjoy it as much as everyone else

  • @benmcd170 cuz he dropped an f-bomb on live tv. ('Some fucking cab driver in new york')

  • norm was a prophet when it came to bruno dancing on conan

  • i love old references to the internet.. haha they would have never thought they would be on it! xD

  • This guy is realty natural man and his normality seems rank set against our depraved culture so it creates an edge and we laugh. he is better than good preacher. he has a joy that comes from the heart of God Himself.

  • @Skeletorical there are gradations of depravity. he drank too much but whats refreshing is his stance on suicide and the gay thing.

  • @patfealy: this guys canadian you mean

  • Is the next segment posted anywhere?

  • 4:13!!!

  • He's so funny, he deserves way more credit...btw why has part 2 horrible quality and part 1 is fine :P

  • i don't think the quality of humour changed at all :P

  • Lol of course not, :)... just sayin :D

  • this is seriously hilarious

  • what the heck happened at 6:30????????

  • The people who cry "homophobic!" at everyone who doesn't fawn all over all things gay are absolutely ridiculous - it's nice to see Norm dish out the common sense on the subject.

  • Comment removed

  • @uk6strings I like how Norm just tells it like it is and is not over the top. He isn't necessarily looking for a laugh when says things. They are just true observations that are presented in a straight forward matter. The fact that he can make people laugh with such nonchalance is what makes him a true genius.

  • @bkg927 yeah, his style is kind of like "life: stripped of all its pretensions" on first glance it's just hilarious until you realize that it's genius.

  • @uk6strings Plus it's pretty obvious he's being ironic !

  • @uk6strings lol, i don't think people say others are homophobic when you're not "fawning over all things gay" lol, ur ridiculous.

  • @uk6strings amen, dude

  • I love this man

  • 3:29***

  • "It got to be too much, I'm looking to lay down." LMFAO 3:40

  • We need more NM in America

  • I remember watching this when it came on and it seems like there was more with the old women earlier in the show but I can't remember what happened

  • Damn that French Canadian accent is perfect, i know he was born in Quebec but still. I love how they pronouce Jean-Luc.

  • Love Norm's French-Canadian accent.

    "BRUH-ddurs, and sis-turs, I have none"

  • Absolute Genius!!

  • Norm is hilarious!

  • Man...every single thing that comes out of this guy's mouth is Hilarious!!!

  • @indiangoku

    Norm or Conan? :P

  • like Chaucer.... like the reference...

  • cant get enough of this guy. he's so hypnotizing

  • Norm's like a really dirty Buddy Hackett.Funny as hell.

  • When's it on?

it's on wed. at 8:30 you already missed it. its thursday. greatness.

  • Does that riddle make sense to anyone? Shouldn't the answer be 'my son'?

  • It works. "Brothers and Sisters I have none." He is an only child. "This mans father is my fathers son". So this man is the guy telling the riddle, he is speaking in 3rd person. and my fathers son would indicate himself already. So it works.

  • No the correct answer is his son. If you Google for the solution you'll find it. I thought Norm was right until it came up in a game of Trivial Pursuit and I said, "I KNOW THIS. NORM SAID THIS RIDDLE." Then it turned out that I was dead wrong. :(

  • no, the only way the statement "this man's father is my father's son" can be accurate is if "this man" is "my" son.

  • norm's such an underrated comedian. i wish he'd have more roles in movies, tv, or have his own show. i don't think people appreciate his talent or theyre too dumb to understand it. he has top notch delivery and timing.

  • i would give him a role in every movie if i ever made movies

  • right he would b great wit seth rogen

  • Spot on, and its a shame, you see people like Ray Romano or Kevin James making millions and you genuinely wonder about people.

  • "In a recent interview with Express Milwaukee, MacDonald shares his views about stand-up and gives several insights into his approach to comedy. At the end of the interview, he makes mention of The Norm MacDonald Reality Show, a new show he's making for F/X where he plays a version of himself willing to do anything to get famous again." ~ Hopefully that show gets on the air. I doubt it will ever reach Europe but still. More Norm is all that's needed.

  • aaaahhhh, that sounds super funny. i hope that show gets made. this man needs to be on tv.

  • You can see their dirty arsses!

  • golden age of obrien

  • omg, his reaction at 6:31 is so adorable!

  • what happened there? i dont get why they had that reaction and then conan got up?

  • watch part 1 and you'll get it. it's because he had already been chastised for using foul language/material in front of those little old ladies.

  • At 6:30 Norm said "some fuckin cab driver in NY."

  • he unintentionally dropped the F bomb.

  • who is the sean guy at the end norm deemed hilarious?

  • Comment removed

  • Conan said Sean Hayes. He played Jack on Will & Grace.

  • ah yeah. well i didnt hear conan say it. just norm. thanks tho.

  • I FUCKING LOVE NORM!

  • you can't hit a guy that looks bad.

  • Hahahaha that's hilarious. The cab driver ahahaha.

  • norm is the best

  • Funniest man alive

  • one of the best comedians ever

  • It's really too bad that late night talk shows serve pretty much only to invite guests who are currently in the media spotlight, and who are promoting a new movie, book, etc.

And for this, I'm sad that we probably won't see Norm on a late night show for some time to come.

I'm not sure if he still does stints on Dennis Miller's radio show, but Norm did do an interview for Howard Stern late last year (it's on YouTube), for anyone interested. The interview's pretty good (though Norm seems tipsy).

  • he was on letterman last night...

  • Norm's been on Letterman, Conan and Stern very recently, all this year I think.

  • Yeah usually comedians go on the shows to promote comedy shows in new york

  • so far in 2008 Norms been on Leno twice, Letterman once, Conan twice and Howard Stern I 'THINK' three times. Most of the New York ones are real recent.

  • pure comedy gold

  • Damn straight

  • norm fucked up the riddle

  • Sure, you 'didn't mean to' curse norm..

  • I wonder if those 3 elderly ladies are still around these days?

  • i love how at 1:07 norm is nonchalantly showing how the guys were walking out lol.....so funny

  • Why does Norm not have his own talkshow?

    Insane

  • It might have to do with that asshole NBC exec that fired him from SNL. However, that's just a guess.

  • dirty arses.. lmao

  • My god. Norm McDonald has made me laugh harder than any other comic since Bill Hicks.

  • at 5:51 is norm laughing because he sees the old ladies and knows hes about to drop the f-bomb? lol. i dunno but funny either way

  • lol that's true haha he just laughs out of nowhere

  • Nah, I think he's laughing because he almost forgot what city his "uncle" lived in...

  • Yes, he is.

  • you're wrong. Go watch your EPIC MOVIE and MEET THE SPARTANS.

  • all hail norm

  • "I like nothing bett-errrrr." Perfect French Canadian accent. I wonder if he actually speaks French, though!

  • Well he grew up in Quebec city, so possibly, but I don't think so.

  • why do all the americans say MACdonald? its pronounced like McDonald. Its just has Scottish spelling. its MCdonald!

  • I don't. But Maybe that is how he wants to be called. I am sure he would tell them if they were mispronouncing it!

  • I think O'Brien just did it as a sort of flourish. You know? For fun like..

  • Conan was doing that on purpose

  • Andy fuckin Richter.

  • He was on the show for the first 7 years or so.

  • This man's father is my father's son... That wouldn't be oneself, unless you were talking about the mystery man's father... My father's son is me, and if I'm a father, than my son wouldn't be myself.

  • "This Man's" father is "my" father's son. He talks about "this man" as the subject, not about this man's "father". So "this man" = "my" => the person we are looking for is myself. I know Norm himself is watching youtube, maybe he can comment on this and make things clear. Norm?

  • This man = unknown. Unknown's father is the son of my father. The son of my father, if I have no siblings, is me. Unknown's father is therefor myself, but that would mean unknown is my son..

  • I must admit I just lost it...

  • I think that's it, anyway, unless I missed part of it...

  • Yeah, "this man" is his son.

  • Comment removed

  • nevermind, the answer is actually my son now that I thought it through. I am my father's son and I am this man's father, so this man would be my son.

  • shut up fag

  • you are a fucking idiot.

  • What's even funnier is that in the Sean Hayes interview afterwards he makes mention of his friend who got a prostitute to wipe off his balls and got bleeped and yelled at again. Buddy is incorrigible.

  • "originally visited new york... city - hello?"

    LMAO

  • norms the best

  • what did he say at the end

  • He dropped an f-bomb.

  • it was sep. 1999 or early okt. 1999 - i still remember: i did an internship in NY and we were talking about that incredible interview the next day during work

  • I see it now for the first time since that again ( still remember the part about his uncle) - thanx so much posting

  • well he sez andys leavin so it must be 1999

  • I love Norm.

  • who are those grannys in the audience

  • so i gotta do something so i bolt hahahaa fuckin funny

  • Norm rules.

  • and i dont get it whats in the bleep?

  • "blew"
