  • If you like this, be sure to check out "Music from the Lost Provinces" at your favorite CD dealer. Great collection that includes a total of 6 recordings by Frank Blevens and his Tar Heel Rattlers!

And "Down In The Basement: Joe Bussard's Treasure Trove of Vintage 78s 1926-1937." Another gr8 collection,

  • @captainhow1949 the very reason i posted these tunes is so people would be inspired to track down the recordings , thanks for listening

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this. When I hear raw stuff like this it moves me the same way the first time I really got punk, or classical, or anything as it was the genuine artifact. Any idea whether the banjo tuning is standard?

I keep coming back for this. Thanks again!

  • The sweet sound of those fiddles is really something that keeps me returning to this. WOW! Thanks for sharing this!

  • I found a copy of this record (Sally Aim) in V+ condition in an antique shop in Decatur, TX in February 2005--the only one of interest of some 75 I looked through. I thought I might get $50-75 for it. Put it on eBay a couple of weeks later and it brought $2,901 from a man in NC called Tar Heel-49. Told me until mine was found only five others were known to exist. The next highest bids were $2880 and $800.

  • powerful tune!

  • Sweet !

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • no problem, i only wish they had recorded a few more tunes!

  • I love this
