  • so im guessing that the stock hp of 210 isnt at the wheels right?

  • doubt the filter did much but with the exhaust and tune i expected more than 195 rwhp.

  • I noticed a drop in my bank balance of about $35.

    Subsequent research convinced me that there would be little performance change, if any, and that adding in the cost of K&N's filter cleaning kit meant that over the life of the car I would re-coup the investment in about 75,000 miles, going with factory-recommended filter-change intervals.

    My final answer: nicer-looking filter, but who looks at it? Save your money, my view.

  • I just swabbed it real good with alcohol, masked it off, swabbed it again, and sprayed it with Krylon semi-flat black. I thought the full flat looked too gray, and the gloss black too plasticky. It's common practice to rough up the surface prior to painting, but I didn't. I had the same paint-job on the V6 vert's cap for two years, and it flaked a little around the keyhole, but I didn't mind touching it up once a year.

  • Seems to me they were both spinning; right one was out of balance, which may account for some of the unusual noise.

    I no longer own this car; for the year before I traded it, it had the FRPP duals conversion, a very good sound that enhanced the driving experience.

  • 4.0. It's a pretty weak engine. SOHC, iron block, no valve timing, no top end. Works well for a torquey base engine, though.

    By comparison, a 2007 350Z puts out 265whp with a 3.5 liter, and the new 370Z puts out 290 with a 3.7, but then again, they are a lot more expensive.

  • Good job, 195rwhp is exactly the number to expect with the mods you have, I'm going to make the same mods to my V6.

  • a stock v6 put out 160 to 170 rwhp depending on if u have an auto or 5speed

  • The stock V6s I've seen dyno at about 185 rwhp. But I've seen discrepancies of almost 20hp between S2000s that are exactly the same, so I wonder if it's the person who takes the test doing something different, or if some engines come off the assembly line better than others, like memory chips or something.

  • not sure i've got mine to bout 210rwhp i've got a s&b cold air intake, jba headers and jba 9mm Blue Ignition Cables,sct xcal 2, ford racing xpipe duals and tlok limited slip diff and 3.73s gears, and a ram air hood and ram air kit. i just wrecked it done some damage under it so i putting a new pypes mid muffler exhaust to get rid of the muffler at the tips and a new bbk cold air intake cause i dont think the s&b puts out very much hp

  • edmunds claims mustang v6 is at 210 hp and 230 torque. i think i saw the same on ford's site.

  • that's at the crank. not the wheels. ~15% is lost through transmission and drive shaft and u joints etc.

    robbie, gears and tlok dont add hp, but it feels like it does.
