Why do they always have a bunch of people or objects right in the way at the end of the landing path that the motorcycle rider always seems to crash into? How about leaving a half a mile or so wide open so he can just land and take his time slowing down with out crashing into cars,people,garbage cans,cement blocks,and everything else they seem to put right in his way.

You made a good point. These dirt bikes are lighter and complex shock. You can't put this on the same category as Evel's jumps. What is that announcer talking about.
