  • 8:10 RACIST REASON!

  • Thank YOu!!!!

  • Hi, ive had reason for over a year now and im still having trouble matching melody to percussion, I know some of the notes have to be on the beat lines, but this is not always possible, especially

when your notes are 1 or 3/16ths apart ,also if you have a melody thats split into 3 small parts with a gap in between each part, where does each part start? thx in advance

  • @radrickroverp5 hmu

  • hi there, i like this..how about hooking up a matrix to the resolution or to the solos and make patterns that way..is that possible?..

  • Very nice thanks for sharing

  • dude! very awesome. Thanks

  • Nice.

  • I love it that you guys are willing to help others understand and apply these techniques but you gotta remember that you know and we don't. I need to see what your fast mouse clicking is doing. And you omit explaining some of the clicks like we are supposed to already know. I stop by to learn and I think it is sometime taken for granted we see every move of the mouse.

You seems to be a rushing through the video. Thanks for your time though. I did get some helpful things out of it.

  • thanks great work, i figured out how to utilize this with reason 4, much appreciated

  • so much bla

  • Is a lot of fun, this method

  • bad mic? i mean its worse then on vids that have nothing to do with sound :)

  • @AcePincter - I love this sound, definately going to try this out. Does this mean that all the samples on Redrum will play through the one channel on the mixer? Thanks.

  • @jimharris84 If you meant etcetera, the abbreviation is etc. and not ect.

I thank you for taking the time to listen to this advice with the hope that next time you will be more literate!

    Thank you once again.

  • If you know your basics, you can skip to 6:13. It's some good stuff from here on. Thanks for the tut!

  • this viedo does not work for me? :(

  • @exizzz Yeah, I don't think Viedo work for anyone

  • @SheridansBurger16 I Can Link 'Reason 5' If Any1 Wants a Copy

  • Sweet juice

  • How the fuck did you make the sound from 8:50 ?? I made everything you do in the video, because the sound is frkn awesome!

  • IMPORTANT! IN between 3:30 and 3:40 you say you will make it from scratch. Please do this always in tutorials. For keeners, we love to see what is going on behind the scenes. Its not just enough to pull up an effects patch and show the effect. We would rather see exactly what is modulated and how it is modulated. Great effect, loved it, super awesome fun time happy friends

  • Nice video. I think his uses Camtasia Studio

  • Looks like you can make some good bass with that.

  • Hi,

This is a great tutorial.. What software do you use to record the screen and tutorial?

    I use windows..

  • lol I thought you said 'hey youtube this is A sphincter'

  • Cool Tutorial Dude

  • Wow... just realised how long ago you posted this! Fairplay...

  • please help me with my problem

im teaching my self how to use reason 4

in a new beat i made i used redrum and dr rex loop player

when i hit play the redrum plays from the beginning even though on the timeline thingy its supposed to come it at specific points, when i export as audio file same thing happens the redrum plays from the beginning and goes all the way through the track.

wen it does get to the pattern i placed on the timeline it kind of gets distorted and has mch more bass.

  • @jamaicandjnado - Once you've copied the pattern to track, try clicking on the 'Enable Pattern Section' button, then the only thing playing will be the midi instead of the ReDrum machine.

  • So does this new style to redrum apply to the 2.5 version as well??thx

  • Comment removed

  • Nvm, Fixed the problem. Nice vid!

  • Hey man i got a problem, When I copy my drum pattern to track it sounds all digitally distorted than it would running on the redrum machine. And When i Export song as Audio File The Redrum Machine automatically starts at the beginning of the song instead of the point i wanted it to start at.

  • i have a question:

everytime I make an instrument, then open another instrument (redrum) for some reason I don't hear the drums....

  • @Doublelawe: you need to be sure the new instrument is connected to a mixer

  • @Doublelawe : you need to be sure the new instrument is connected to a mixer

  • Good! But a simple question: I've mapped my Midi keyboard to trigger SOLO events but when I press a key I must press it again to stop solo...why? How can I solve my problem in reason?

  • Okay, I have a question. How do you make multiple tempos for the same track? Like I'm trying to make a tempo change for a breakdown in a hardcore type beat, but I can only change the tempo for the whole track and not just one section. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • change the resolution on the redrum pattern you want to speed up or slow down

  • @usedtohatecellphones You need to be more specific with your question.

  • @zebbedi I mean that I want certain sections to be a different tempo than the rest of the song. One part I want at 210 and the other at about 155. I think @bangny sort of answered my question, but where do you change that?

  • @usedtohatecellphones That's why I said be more specific, some devices have resolution settings but that isn't tempo adjustment. The only way that I can think of would be to automate the tempo of the song as and when you need to.

  • @zebbedi Man... I think I need another video. Haha.

  • @usedtohatecellphones If you are using Reason and you want the song to change tempo at certain times just right click the tempo display and select the automate function.

  • shit man

  • Sick!!!

  • good one

  • Red Rum

  • @triangletoad murDreR

  • @yomother82 lol. Reminds me of that movie

  • @triangletoad Its a pun. It goes either way i think. I call it RedRum. My brother calls it ReDrum. idk.

  • Good one.

  • Your a very good teacher. It really is too bad that propeller heads doesn't make plugins of their own effects and instruments... they could make so much more money, and people would be able to use their fx for their live audio... cant route audio to the fx in reason :( mega sad face.

    5 STARS!

  • you got style Ace. love it!

  • How do I get the sequencer to show? thanks :)

  • nice video great tips

  • great tutorials and just what i need on those slow days, any chance of a bass modulation video? many thanks

  • I think this is kind of cool, but I'm a little bit confused about the key mapping section.

Do you have any tutorials on that, or other resources?

  • gay

  • open ur brain gay boy

  • seriously, when you're doing a video tutorial, stop smacking your goddamn mouth

  • hater haha i swear u guys fuel the world

  • Comment removed

  • thankyou very much, this was the best tutorial EVER!!!!!

  • I tend to do exactly that when i'm not quite in the groove, coming up with new ways of thinking and making crazy routing or templates for racks/patches etc. It's a great way to kill some time and will always come in handy another day ;)

This was a little far out, coming up with this technique, however, i can see the use for it and i definitely will be doing some experimentation with it .. Thanks for sharing!

  • Wooo! thanks that really helped!

  • day after a hang over? no such thing.

  • your name is "a sphincter"? Damn. That sucks.

  • Love your fucking voice man x

  • Hey everyone

where can I find a good tutorial explaining how redrum works in details ?

    -copy to track

    -duplicate pattern, etc...

    Thanks

  • lol..u already know the most...

  • shit

    I feel stupid....

  • what u wanna know???the pitch wheel???or volume button??? :D :D

  • I just watched a tutorial and there is a lot of things I didn't knew

    start/stop

    on/off

    ...

    lol :D

I'm kidding but I didn't knew you can copy to track so easely for example.

    but you were right :

after 5 minutes you understand all !

I can make a synthesizer or a pitch-shift with reaktor and I'm scared to don't understand redrum !

    I feel twice stupid... :D

  • lol

  • Thanks for the info. I'm a beginner with reason 4.0. It's going to be awhile before i really get to understand what you was explaining. But i save your tutorial in my favorite. So that way i could watch it over and over until i understand

  • your a real dude man, i produce hip hop professionally and when im not performing the way im expected too your tutorials helpkeep it up homie- 1

  • great vid man!!!

  • very cool.

  • reDrum? I thought this was R3dRum lol

  • you are fucking awesome!!!!

  • thanks bro much appreciated

  • i love you! you just solved one of my problems. im serious, i love you. haha

  • Genious lol i duno why i havnt thot of this, knew it could do that...but ach well this is kl:P

  • Dude you are a genius. I'm sitting here thinking, "Why the hell didn't I think of that?" I have always thought that electronic music was always limited by the fact that drum solos couldn't be improvised live. However, this shows me that it is possible. thanks man!

  • 9:20 he says ....combiNIGGER patch lol. slip of the tongue? maybe so.....maybe so

  • It doesnt sound anything like that.

  • lol... Ace, NO...

  • how do i get my midi keyboard to trigger the solo's im stumped

  • choose a midi controller, then on that controller select a higher scale

  • this is 400 quid fuckin hell :O:O

  • i didnt get anything here hahaha

btw. is it possible to play in reason with computer keyboard?

  • nah you cant.

  • you should just get a midi cable and hook up your synth

  • yes u can

  • There are programs that you can download the translate qwerty keyboard notes into MIDI note data..... Most of them are mildly frustrating and lack functionality though....

I'd just invest in a cheap MIDI controller with a USB interface.

  • yea, i think you can find a app for it on the reason forum, but it sucks keyboard is 50 bucks man

  • yes it is you need to download booms keyboard emulator it works it's sometimes a it of a nuisance but once you get it it's good

  • Yes, just more time consuming

  • yeah i just got bomes virtual mouse keyboard and also a virtual midi controller...just do a google search they're both free

  • same here :)

  • im ah new reason user and i aint know half that shit thanks fam

  • whats the start knob do in redrum ? send me a message plz

  • nice..cant wait to try it

  • I do not have that sequencer bar........

  • Good Tip. I would like to add that any samples can be used, not just drums. For example cut up vocals, fx noises etc.

  • 4:09 sounds like my washing machine.

  • LOL

  • @sausabe LOOOOL!

  • Why do i get no sound from Redrum when I hit the "RUN" button?

  • Clcik "Enable Pattern Selection" or something just above the button

  • The black-key patch-changer is TEH twist...

  • I would have never thought about the lip smacking thing if you guys didn't bring it up

  • Lol at people annoyed by smacking lips, im willing to bet you slap your wife across the face for forgetting to buy something from the store. if you are tolerant enough to get a girl.
