  • Lmao, sony vegas 7. Pretty outdated when I use version 11 >_<

  • What a Joke, ".Avi is Larger" , No it's not. .avi is a compressed version of mpeg encoding. Usually using quite high audio range aswell. .WMV is for noobs like you who don't know any better and HAVE to use Microsoft encoding because ITS THE ONLY THING YOU KNOW. Learn something and then make another video.

  • @Landsiedel9 This tutorial is five years old, for one. Second, as I said in the video, or, rather, as I mean to say now, .wmv is a nice format to use if you are in a hurry, and, typically, .avi files ARE larger, because of their compression. Like many viewers have commented on my newer tutorials, AVCHD, MP4, and H.264 rendering with MPEG2 is recommended now, in compatibility with YouTube (though bitrates are subject to change of course, and should be tested).

  • @Landsiedel9 Rich coming from a guy who has no videos posted at all. Wmv is the best format for youtube. I have rendered and uploaded over 300 videos to youtube on two different channels. Video for windows [*.avi], what's that you were saying about microsoft? There always has to be one jackass.

  • can anyone help me? when i try to upload a video from my hd pvr. it says that it will take 8 hours to upload!!!! how can i change this?

  • @Thepyronfly That's normal for youtube.

  • The only reason I came here is to figure out why it was only rendering the first few seconds of my video. Took a while to get that answer, but I learned a lot in the process despite this being an old version of Vegas. I love tutorials.

  • how can I render from quicktime movie to mp4 or avi

  • why does my percent stay on zero and the hours to render it keep piling up? :( HELPPPP PLEASE

  • @HANCOCKSWAG Sounds like your computer is extremely outdated... The slower your computer is, the longer it'll take to process video.

  • I did everything you said, and my video looked like 240p.

  • Great Video. You forgot to mention that Quick time renders horrible audio quality though.

  • thanks dude

  • In this very video we have black bars on either sides how to we get ride of that in videos

  • @Royaniime

Right Click Your Clip > Properties > Maintain Aspect Ratio.

  • @Royaniime

You can get rid of ''black bars'' by clicking on a clip than go to properties and disable maintain aspect ratio.

  • when i render my videos, they look good on windows media player, but then i upload them on youtube & they lag, help?

  • by 320*240 is it fullscreen?? its not hd i know

  • @nishy0895 it is the resolution of your cellphone

  • Wow. I'm sure you've heard this but this really fixes my problem, and it renders absolutely perfectly. I had a problem with the video's image sizes rendering not matching up with the preview, and it was just...... screwed. This is definitely going in my favorites list, and thanks for fixing it! The quality looks great, and it's rendering well!

  • When i render a video, the final video is super laggy... How do i fix this?

  • @SMGShorty You sure your computer meets the system requirements of Sony Vegas?

  • @x0zirgoz0x Yes it does. It meets the minimal requirements of handling AE.but it's all good now. I got it to work. I just render it in a different file format and it works fine. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @SMGShorty I'm having the same problem. I've set the frame rate to more than 30. What format do you use now?

  • @raykrislianggi I was using AVI which was making it lag. Now I use WMV and it basically solved my problem.

  • What are you doing to the video when you render it.....if I want to burn it to a dvd do I have to render the whole project before I burn it...

  • I'm trying to render out a skate video. It looks fine while i'm editing but once I go to render I get a ghosting effect. Could my project settings be wrong?

  • @planB091 ghosting? might be some type of blur error. Double check your settings.

  • I have the same problems as ALEX288PRO... Btw, when im rendering its stops at 56%... anyone who can help me? plzz - Shifu

  • My Vegas keeps crashing everytime I'm rendering my videos.

do someone know why this happens and how to prevent it?

  • @ALEX288PRO download an actual LEGAL version and not a cracked version XD jk. Make sure you have enough RAM available. Maybe that's the problem?

  • @ALEX288PRO close all teh internets.

  • are you guys stupid? this is actually not stupid... this is idiotic... He even told you not to check it ... If you watch tutorial then Watch it.

  • I also realized to uncheck render loop region. however when I render my video I get a black screen with audio for half of the video, then suddenly it picks up the video in the middle, maybe skip a few frames again (going black) and then picking up images again. Any idea what this could cause. The preview shows it perfect, its only when rendering. Help please!

  • hey guys someone please help me!. i have aproblem. when i render my audio (i make music, i just use one picture for the whole thing) i get anoying stuttering! it sttuters the whole track (the audio) and it continues through out the vid! help me someone please!

  • Im having trouble BADLY. I just made a Fight Club montage but when my videos render they get to 100% but it ends up like 10 seconds long WTF somebody help

  • when i render it i go to the filee and when i press play it it just a black screen . why?

  • @mw2lover72151 that happened to me too make sure that render loop is disabled and restart the program then retry your file should work (it did for me) :)

  • im did it step by step but it still takes a long azz time to render why?

  • @blacksoundtv You probably have a lot of tracks

  • Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out. I followed your steps and it rendered perfectly, but when I play it there is no sound for about the first 5seconds. Would you know how to fix that?

    Thanks!!

  • ''Then we gonna go to file... Render ass...'' lol :D not really big thing but i stil rofled a bit

  • you say for utube click 360x240... why nopt 1280x1080 or something like that?

  • why when i put an episode of a series that is 300 MB and render it (i didnt change any thing i changed only the Audio) it came out with 2 GB, why the fuck is it always like that and its not an HD !

  • im rendering a 30 second clip with some audio and effects and i leave it on for 10 minutes and it hasnt done a single percent. i have a quad core comp. This hasnt happened before what could the problem be?

  • When I want to render smth there's only music and a black screen.

  • Hey, I want to make a movie out of 5 avis for a friend of mine, just some music clips. I want to make one data out of it and burn it on a dvd later. What would be the best way?

  • Simply THE best tutorial on this. You pretty much told everything I could ask to know in a simple and helpful manner. love it, Great Thanks!

  • I started rendering, but the box doesn't come up afterwards. It does show me the percentage completed at the lower left hand corner though, but it doesn't have the box that comes up after you click render. How can I fix that?

  • why not use HD?

  • I think you were straight to the point. you helped out immensely.

  • I saw this program on amazon for just 60 dollars. Is it the same thing, or does the actual thing cost 600 dollars?

  • can you please tell me the options for an HD video that I'm making.. I want it to be projected in my 52 inch sony tv at its best quality... the video is about 10 minutes long if that helps... Im new to sony vegas. Please :)

  • watch?v=a4Xj0S2ijSs

  • Thank you very much hehe. But im making mmvs and ms movies and i need it to be a little bigger is it okay if i make it just a little bigger? This is not my maplestory youtube account but it's just to ask.

  • whenever i try and render it says "An error occured while creating media file.

File name is not valid" how do i fix it?

  • 320x240?!?! Why?!

If you want your video to be available in HD you'll render at 720p. (This video is at 720p, so why the heck would you tell people to render at 320x240?!)

  • @Matortheeternal The video was made before Youtube released all of these HD and high quality options.

  • @nightfireivey Hrm. I guess that's fair enough. Although I still don't see how it'd be in 720p if that was the case.

  • @Matortheeternal Not sure, maybe he made it in a higher resolution.

  • I want to know what rendering options I am suppised to use when I am making a film with a mixture of 1080p footage from a jvc camera, with a 720p footage from a gopro camera

  • whenever i try to render a clip it renders like 10m of black screen with it

  • i would recommend dvd quality instead of animation. gives you alot more details on fullscreen

  • Big thank's to you, i was really confused, cuz my video was like 21GB big... now i have sized it the way i need and the quality is superb... I am realy happy now, thanks =D

  • Narrator guy, you don't seem to know anything about this thing. What you do is show how "clicking" is done. Go and read a bid VBR and CBR, cause "it looks like it gives more quality" isn't explaining.

But hell, you do mess with the index file! lol

  • Nice one,Subscribed.Hey can't we work with mp4 files and flv or avi.Please reply.Thanks.

  • is there any reason why my vids take forever to render?

    is there an explination

  • I try rendering my video as .wmv but the timer starts going higher and higher and the percent stays at 0 it can spend 5 hours+ with nothing happening please help :(

  • windows suck! making everything so complicated... iMovie Rocks, cause even avi. can be edited on it.

  • @theiPhone4Videos iMovie is a basic editing software after effects avid final cut Vegas etc are much better

  • @Pierules123 did you get it? even .avi can be edited on iMovie... i didnt say the "sony vegas or after effects" ..i was referring to the windows... i have the sony vegas but my files were .mov and windows are making it complicated.

  • @theiPhone4Videos *facepalm*

  • Why would you put it as 320x240? It would be just horrible resolution...

  • Five stars! or pg-13 :D:D:D:D

  • LazySmi yes but with avi a six second video will take six hour to upload

  • what i dont understand is... you say .WMV for youtube quality and then .AVI for BEST quality, surely u want the best quality on youtube?

  • @rhonndos obrigado pelo video foi muito importante - translate - thanks for video. was very important.

    from BRASIL!!!!

  • There's something weird for me. I capture footage from my PS3, then I import it in Windows Movie Maker and it works fine, but if I import and render into Sony Vegas there's a lot of frame lag. I tried different render settings in Vegas: avi, mpg, wmv and some other ones.

Maybe it could be because it's captured in PAL, but Sony Vegas works on NTSC. That could be the problem??

    Anyone can help me??

  • @FerdieFB23 PAL and NTSC r not the problem also these setting are wrong now this was made in 2007 lol utube now takes 1280x 720 use that rendering setting and also the higher frps (frame rate per second the less lag you will get i recommend 30frps :)

  • @sharkyboy911 Ok thanks. Well maybe the problem is that the footage I capture is 60fps, but my capture card only captures at 30fps. At the moment Sony Vegas is set at 29.97fps. Anyway, I'll try with a higher fps.

But I think the biggest problem is the kind of video file. When rendered as mpeg it lags a lot, but if it's rendered as wmv is lags less.

  • Well see how it does on my minitage

  • Sony AVc (MP4) videos are one of the best to use for HD videos.

  • thanks bud you helped me out :)

  • Taking the Loop rendering did take alot of space but its still worth it.

  • what the fuck my 12mb video rendered to 13gb?

  • I Have a video thats 10 minutes long no fancy editing at all and it takes 2 hours to render. Help me.

  • @JackIsLegendary Get a new computer. :P

By the way, this quality tutorial is 3 years old, if I were you I would go and see the newer quality tutorial Montagical made.

  • Ok here's the thing here

You see my videos i like have to wait almost an hour for them to be finsihed and all like how can i get the rendering shorted to like 2 to 5 minutes like

one video was 5 minutes i had to wait 2 hours

  • What would be the best parameters for a DVD burn? Thxs

  • I did everything he said and chose WMV as format because I want to upload the video to YouTube but all it does is keep increasing the approximate time left and keeps the download at 0 %

Any suggestions? Is it just my PC or should I do anything else?

Btw, It is a 1 minute 15 video with audio and video and I also edited it (I changed the brightness)

  • My videos will render but it only takes like 6 seconds. This made me realy happy at first but then i went to watch it and its only a 3 second vid of a blank screen. Please help! Thnx

  • @Intellegentjelly when you are in the "Render As" window just uncheck all checkboxes below.

The reason why you only render some parts of the video is pretty simple.. when you mark a part of the video, you'll see this gray line above with these yellow edges. When you now render the video it would probably just render the marked part...

So like i said: Just uncheck all boxes in "Render As"

  • @Intellegentjelly yeah i all so keep getting that

  • @Intellegentjelly try checking that youre not rendering loop region only. if you are, uncheck it, or highlight all of the video you are trying to render

  • @Intellegentjelly ironically, i had that same problem. highlight what you want to render that should work :D

  • @Intellegentjelly and all those thta have thgis problem, You must select or highlight the full video before click make video.

  • @Intellegentjelly use a different render setting :P urs is uncompressed

  • @Intellegentjelly Hightlight the part of the video that you want. [ It will highlight in blue] then render. :D

  • @Intellegentjelly you have to drag your cursour back to the start of timeline

  • @Intellegentjelly there will be a checkbox at the bottom of the render as box, and it will say something like "render loop region", uncheck that :)

  • @Intellegentjelly Select your video with the loop region

  • @Intellegentjelly

    Render at the highest graphic!

  • @Intellegentjelly uncheck "render loop region "

  • @SonyTorials thank you so much :D:D:D:D:D

  • @SonyTorials Thank you!!!

  • @SonyTorials thank you, you saved my life, i have been watching videos on how to save files for like an hour. cus i made a 3 min long video and didn't know how to save a file

  • @SonyTorials

    thank you so much!

  • @SonyTorials thank you so much

  • @SonyTorials My video which may last 5:00 minutes when I render it, it takes hours and when I upload it to youtube the 5:00 video is there but after 5:00 mintues there is 45:00 mintues of blank screen and no sound. Why is this happening.

  • @grabmygoobers you either have a small picture or more likely a blank audio file at thee end of you video

  • @TheeEpicMan9000 I make messages when I am using it by pressing the "M" key and typing in my note. If I leave them up when I render the video would that cause it to happen? I deleted the messages and my video rendered like it should.

  • @SonyTorials THX SO FUCKING MUCH !

  • @SonyTorials THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was freakin driving my head into the wall trying to figure out wtf was wrong.

  • @SonyTorials Thank you!

  • @SonyTorials THANK YOU.

  • @SonyTorials

    Thank you.

  • @Intellegentjelly Copy the whole movie and render it again =)

  • @Intellegentjelly its because 'render loops only' was still selected

  • lets go to custom here. (you said 2x)

  • i got a problem you see rendering is rough for me because for some reason it takes like almost 2 hours to finish rendering i made like a 3 minute to 5 minute video and it took so long anyone help me out with it?

  • Thx man very helpful guide :)

  • well man how can i solve problem with vegas rendering it just always go black screen ;(

  • Here below was not the right question for my problem.

I work with a lot of HD files and it seems that the trial version of vegas will create a problem with my memory. I can't insert more then 60 files or so. I can't find a solution online (but it is reported in several forums). I'm trying to render it to 1 m2t(s) file now, hopefully i can carry on with the poject. I'm never buying a sony cam anymore, doesn't go with MAC (vegas = window) and i need to buy a 600 dol. program :( ..I Hate mt2s files

  • Do i also need to render while working on a project?

I have HD files (MPEG-2) and set the project settings low.

As my project is getting bigger, it keeps thinking a lot when importing files.

Sometimes it says;vmemory is low, close other applications.

    I have 4GB memory..i don't understand. Would it help if i render?

  • Adobe premiere pro is much better

  • Thank You So Much!! :D Just About To See If It Uploads [y]
