What a Joke, ".Avi is Larger" , No it's not. .avi is a compressed version of mpeg encoding. Usually using quite high audio range aswell. .WMV is for noobs like you who don't know any better and HAVE to use Microsoft encoding because ITS THE ONLY THING YOU KNOW. Learn something and then make another video.
@Landsiedel9 This tutorial is five years old, for one. Second, as I said in the video, or, rather, as I mean to say now, .wmv is a nice format to use if you are in a hurry, and, typically, .avi files ARE larger, because of their compression. Like many viewers have commented on my newer tutorials, AVCHD, MP4, and H.264 rendering with MPEG2 is recommended now, in compatibility with YouTube (though bitrates are subject to change of course, and should be tested).
@Landsiedel9 Rich coming from a guy who has no videos posted at all. Wmv is the best format for youtube. I have rendered and uploaded over 300 videos to youtube on two different channels. Video for windows [*.avi], what's that you were saying about microsoft? There always has to be one jackass.
The only reason I came here is to figure out why it was only rendering the first few seconds of my video. Took a while to get that answer, but I learned a lot in the process despite this being an old version of Vegas. I love tutorials.
Thanks for the great videos. I'm trying to render some projects which I have added chapter markers to so they will work when burned to dvd. It doesn't seem to be working though. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
Everytime I try to render my video, it keeps on stopping at 48% and when I look at the time left , it`s 0:00 , but the render time keeps on going. Please help
Ya know how you would move like a media generator to the tracks and a thing would pop up so you can edit it? Well Nothing is popping up anymore! How can i fix this? :}
i have a question, what happens if your like rendering a movie that will take forever and your using a trial of sony vegas and it expire during the rendering
Wow. I'm sure you've heard this but this really fixes my problem, and it renders absolutely perfectly. I had a problem with the video's image sizes rendering not matching up with the preview, and it was just...... screwed. This is definitely going in my favorites list, and thanks for fixing it! The quality looks great, and it's rendering well!
@x0zirgoz0x Yes it does. It meets the minimal requirements of handling AE.but it's all good now. I got it to work. I just render it in a different file format and it works fine. :)
I'm trying to render out a skate video. It looks fine while i'm editing but once I go to render I get a ghosting effect. Could my project settings be wrong?
I also realized to uncheck render loop region. however when I render my video I get a black screen with audio for half of the video, then suddenly it picks up the video in the middle, maybe skip a few frames again (going black) and then picking up images again. Any idea what this could cause. The preview shows it perfect, its only when rendering. Help please!
hey guys someone please help me!. i have aproblem. when i render my audio (i make music, i just use one picture for the whole thing) i get anoying stuttering! it sttuters the whole track (the audio) and it continues through out the vid! help me someone please!
Im having trouble BADLY. I just made a Fight Club montage but when my videos render they get to 100% but it ends up like 10 seconds long WTF somebody help
@mw2lover72151 that happened to me too make sure that render loop is disabled and restart the program then retry your file should work (it did for me) :)
Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out. I followed your steps and it rendered perfectly, but when I play it there is no sound for about the first 5seconds. Would you know how to fix that?
why when i put an episode of a series that is 300 MB and render it (i didnt change any thing i changed only the Audio) it came out with 2 GB, why the fuck is it always like that and its not an HD !
im rendering a 30 second clip with some audio and effects and i leave it on for 10 minutes and it hasnt done a single percent. i have a quad core comp. This hasnt happened before what could the problem be?
Hey, I want to make a movie out of 5 avis for a friend of mine, just some music clips. I want to make one data out of it and burn it on a dvd later. What would be the best way?
I started rendering, but the box doesn't come up afterwards. It does show me the percentage completed at the lower left hand corner though, but it doesn't have the box that comes up after you click render. How can I fix that?
can you please tell me the options for an HD video that I'm making.. I want it to be projected in my 52 inch sony tv at its best quality... the video is about 10 minutes long if that helps... Im new to sony vegas. Please :)
Thank you very much hehe. But im making mmvs and ms movies and i need it to be a little bigger is it okay if i make it just a little bigger? This is not my maplestory youtube account but it's just to ask.
If you want your video to be available in HD you'll render at 720p. (This video is at 720p, so why the heck would you tell people to render at 320x240?!)
I want to know what rendering options I am suppised to use when I am making a film with a mixture of 1080p footage from a jvc camera, with a 720p footage from a gopro camera
Big thank's to you, i was really confused, cuz my video was like 21GB big... now i have sized it the way i need and the quality is superb... I am realy happy now, thanks =D
Narrator guy, you don't seem to know anything about this thing. What you do is show how "clicking" is done. Go and read a bid VBR and CBR, cause "it looks like it gives more quality" isn't explaining.
I try rendering my video as .wmv but the timer starts going higher and higher and the percent stays at 0 it can spend 5 hours+ with nothing happening please help :(
@Pierules123 did you get it? even .avi can be edited on iMovie... i didnt say the "sony vegas or after effects" ..i was referring to the windows... i have the sony vegas but my files were .mov and windows are making it complicated.
There's something weird for me. I capture footage from my PS3, then I import it in Windows Movie Maker and it works fine, but if I import and render into Sony Vegas there's a lot of frame lag. I tried different render settings in Vegas: avi, mpg, wmv and some other ones.
Maybe it could be because it's captured in PAL, but Sony Vegas works on NTSC. That could be the problem??
@FerdieFB23 PAL and NTSC r not the problem also these setting are wrong now this was made in 2007 lol utube now takes 1280x 720 use that rendering setting and also the higher frps (frame rate per second the less lag you will get i recommend 30frps :)
@sharkyboy911 Ok thanks. Well maybe the problem is that the footage I capture is 60fps, but my capture card only captures at 30fps. At the moment Sony Vegas is set at 29.97fps. Anyway, I'll try with a higher fps.
But I think the biggest problem is the kind of video file. When rendered as mpeg it lags a lot, but if it's rendered as wmv is lags less.
You see my videos i like have to wait almost an hour for them to be finsihed and all like how can i get the rendering shorted to like 2 to 5 minutes like
I did everything he said and chose WMV as format because I want to upload the video to YouTube but all it does is keep increasing the approximate time left and keeps the download at 0 %
Any suggestions? Is it just my PC or should I do anything else?
Btw, It is a 1 minute 15 video with audio and video and I also edited it (I changed the brightness)
My videos will render but it only takes like 6 seconds. This made me realy happy at first but then i went to watch it and its only a 3 second vid of a blank screen. Please help! Thnx
@Intellegentjelly when you are in the "Render As" window just uncheck all checkboxes below.
The reason why you only render some parts of the video is pretty simple.. when you mark a part of the video, you'll see this gray line above with these yellow edges. When you now render the video it would probably just render the marked part...
So like i said: Just uncheck all boxes in "Render As"
@Intellegentjelly try checking that youre not rendering loop region only. if you are, uncheck it, or highlight all of the video you are trying to render
@SonyTorials thank you, you saved my life, i have been watching videos on how to save files for like an hour. cus i made a 3 min long video and didn't know how to save a file
@SonyTorials My video which may last 5:00 minutes when I render it, it takes hours and when I upload it to youtube the 5:00 video is there but after 5:00 mintues there is 45:00 mintues of blank screen and no sound. Why is this happening.
@TheeEpicMan9000 I make messages when I am using it by pressing the "M" key and typing in my note. If I leave them up when I render the video would that cause it to happen? I deleted the messages and my video rendered like it should.
i got a problem you see rendering is rough for me because for some reason it takes like almost 2 hours to finish rendering i made like a 3 minute to 5 minute video and it took so long anyone help me out with it?
Here below was not the right question for my problem.
I work with a lot of HD files and it seems that the trial version of vegas will create a problem with my memory. I can't insert more then 60 files or so. I can't find a solution online (but it is reported in several forums). I'm trying to render it to 1 m2t(s) file now, hopefully i can carry on with the poject. I'm never buying a sony cam anymore, doesn't go with MAC (vegas = window) and i need to buy a 600 dol. program :( ..I Hate mt2s files
Lmao, sony vegas 7. Pretty outdated when I use version 11 >_<

IPwnutodayful 1 year ago
@Intellegentjelly try checking that youre not rendering loop region only. if you are, uncheck it, or highlight all of the video you are trying to render

@Intellegentjelly there will be a checkbox at the bottom of the render as box, and it will say something like "render loop region", uncheck that :)

@SonyTorials My video which may last 5:00 minutes when I render it, it takes hours and when I upload it to youtube the 5:00 video is there but after 5:00 mintues there is 45:00 mintues of blank screen and no sound. Why is this happening.
grabmygoobers 9 months ago
@grabmygoobers you either have a small picture or more likely a blank audio file at thee end of you video
TheeEpicMan9000 8 months ago
@TheeEpicMan9000 I make messages when I am using it by pressing the "M" key and typing in my note. If I leave them up when I render the video would that cause it to happen? I deleted the messages and my video rendered like it should.

well man how can i solve problem with vegas rendering it just always go black screen ;(
TheIJustUkranian 1 year ago
Here below was not the right question for my problem.
I work with a lot of HD files and it seems that the trial version of vegas will create a problem with my memory. I can't insert more then 60 files or so. I can't find a solution online (but it is reported in several forums). I'm trying to render it to 1 m2t(s) file now, hopefully i can carry on with the poject. I'm never buying a sony cam anymore, doesn't go with MAC (vegas = window) and i need to buy a 600 dol. program :( ..I Hate mt2s files

Do i also need to render while working on a project?
I have HD files (MPEG-2) and set the project settings low.
As my project is getting bigger, it keeps thinking a lot when importing files.
Sometimes it says;vmemory is low, close other applications.
I have 4GB memory..i don't understand. Would it help if i render?
