I hold a strong personal relationship to pokemon. This song is a tear jerker for me cause the person who introduced me to pokemon was my best friend. I had to move away from him and he was probably the greatest friend I ever had. This song means a lot to me because I've had to say goodbye to many good friends. It's sad :/ but I know i'll find them again someday in the land of the Rising Sun.

When i saw thsi episode..i tried my hardest not to cry, not only because Ash's pokemon had to leave but because Butterfree was the very first of his pokemon he ever got out in the wilds....now thats a bond that will last forever...tell me if anyone knows..will Butterfree ever come back in the series?

@TheIflame It's best explained in the Japanese dub. Yes, you do see Butterfree again, but you wouldn't notice in the English version. And not, they didn't like, edit her out or take out the episode with her. Butterfree left to lay its eggs, and when Butterfree lay their eggs, they die. 2 or 3 episodes later, Ash meets Butterfree again and gets her help in fighting Sabrina. You wouldn't think of it, but the Japanese dub hints that the Haunter Ash teams up with is Butterfree.
