Congratulations!!! Really awesome to have filmed this and shared it with us, thank you so much! I had never seen an emu getting out of an egg before (didn't even know the egg was emerald green) and I got so fascinated by it that I did a google search to know more about it! lol...

Others interested in hatching and raising emus need to know a healthy emu chick is not as easy as chickens, you need to hobble their legs after hatching for a few or they will have splayed legs resulting in a bird that will never walk (eventually backwards legs) and will need to be put down. They are top heavy and legs are weak. In nature they are not up and walking about as they are in a home environment. Hope those who buy on ebay read up facts before diving in head first.
