And the chance of Ash and Misty ending up together was very likely.

However, its popularity had gone through the roof, still going to this day, without ANY sign of stopping.

No, there is no 'Japanese-exclusive' episodes of anything like them kissing, so we'll have to wait a few more years to see if anything after Unova will happen.
