This has to be one of my all time favourite boss fights in any game, i just love the setting and the fact you have to use melee combat to defeat him instead of just shooting him with your gun.

Whenever i play this game, i always have a save before this boss fight so i can play it again, and i recently bought this version for gamecube, i saw it in a shop and had to buy it, because this game is RARE where i live.

When he pits away his sword and does them fighting stances with his mini speech. Fucking epic. Twin snakes gave grey fox the credit he deserved. But why did gamecube have to get it!! MGS2 has stamina so it feels like realtic when you knocked them out.

With the life bar,Stamina just invloles a knock out rather than a kill.

man this game was good, could have been perfect if it wasn't for the ugly ass characters, the absurd cut scenes (there's one where snake fucking dodges a missile and then steps on it! fuck) and i have no idea why they added such boring and uninspiring music to boss batles instead of that awesome one it had on the original

I'd say the only thing that made this game good is that its a remake of the original. Why? Because everything else they added and altered SUCKS. Sucks bad and even Hideo Kojima confessed in an interview that he didn't liked this game and he even said that doesn't consider it a remake

It's kinda like what they did in the Street Fighter movie (old movie now) and Dragon Ball Evolution *throws up*

Those "acting coooool" and "MATRIX" scenes just made a great game into something generic and childish

i like this remake, i love MGS 1 for the playstation 1 and i love the twin snakes - the same in content, just with better graphics/sound. twin snakes tells the same story like the original so why its childish? ...

@DerHalbeEuro I know the story is the same, I was talking about cut scenes. Solid Snake is acting like a different kind of character, he's been more "Jack Raiden" (new cool guy) than "Solid Snake" (badass veteran man) on these cut scenes. He is of course, a cinematic daredevil but he's not the kind to make acrobatic moves or "I pwnd ya" kind of poser scenes. It's stupid.

Even Hideo Kojima said he didn't liked this Snake. The director of THIS game had misinterpretation of the character,

@Raposaum Have you played the original MGS1? Snake really isn't that badass in that game. I don't mean he has to jump on missiles and shit to be cool, but great voice acting aside, he wasn't very well-written.

Also, its Kojima who wanted this style of cutscenes in the first place. At first it was done exactly like the PSX original, but Kojima didn't like it and wanted him to make it his own.

@DerHalbeEuro the original had a better soundtrack and better sound and voice acting. the original grey fox voice was so much better. graphics in this are better yes and so are the controls (being able to shoot in first person) but thats what made the original, well, the original. it was just pure awesomeness and the only way to make a good remake is do it on the ps3 and even the 360 but use all the same music and writing and voices from the original

You know, the timing of the music when you fought was just perfect. The music swells when you really get into the fight, it dims down again, and it swells right back up just as you reach the second part of the fight. It just adds to the effect....nice timing!

for the ps1 virsion. after you kick his ass, he has a shield that kills you if ou get too close. so you have to shoot him with a gun.

I beat the PS1 version first (not too long ago), and later beat this one, I don't remember having to shoot him to kill him at the end.

You don't shoot him, you just have to time your attacks.
