  • the 91 looks 100000x better

back when corvettes had a unique signature style instead of just being another rounded off import looking deal

  • Good to see the '91 still do relatively well.

  • 2 of my dream cars

  • I wanted the old ZR-1 to win.

  • isn't that a slow time for an 09 ZR-1?

  • @Fultzy02 Yes... The record for a stock ZR1 is 10.7

  • a 5.0 1989 mustang would shit on a 300zx.

  • @extracredit100 No it wouldn't.

  • @extracredit100 lol You clearly have Downs Syndrome.

  • looks like the driver in the new zr1 needs practice. Mid to high 11's should'nt be a problem at all!

  • @hartattk25 actually very low 11's is EASY with the 09 ZR1. Car runs high 10's with a good driver.

  • My uncle believes a stock 93 300zx can beat a 91 corvette zR1

    I was like :/ yeah.…right

  • @keith8880 oddly enough it would be close, a 93 300zx tt will run 13.6 absolutely stock and to be honest it is far from being set up for drag. The ZR1 is more at home when at the drag strip without a doubt.

If you type in "11-second Stock Turbo 300ZX" on youtube you can see what a nearly stock Z will run when set up to do quarter miles properly. pretty much takes $1k in upgrades to get it there: traction mods along with increasing the boost (the stock block can handle 700+ whp)

  • @thejfactors nice lie bro. u almost made it beleivable with that paragraph of utter nonsense. almost made these guys beleive a nissan is anywhere near a chevy.

  • @extracredit100 lol... um... nice factual comeback? everything I stated is well documented. But I can't force the truth on you and to be honest I wouldn't even if I could. lol because after all the less demand for nice cars caused by fanboys like yourself, the lower the price and the more nice cars for me. lol so... feel free to believe what you want. I happen 2 love chevy and 4 that matter any car that makes good power. But I understand not all of us can be true car enthusiasts, so do as u pls

  • @extracredit100 You're an idiot. Have you ever driven/seen/raced an even mildly modded TT 300zx? Stock they pull same numbers as an LS1 F-body With $1,100 into a TT 94' Z I have DESTROYED a 2010 GT500 (dig/roll), C5 Z06 (10mph roll), XF Supercharged (dig), kept up decently with a C6 Z06 (30 roll), ran about even with a C6 Base(20 roll), and many more. All it takes is, intake, full exhaust, injectors and a tune and you can sit at 400+ WHP.

  • @Unique377 Well then your friend needs to learn how to drive... or get a better tune. I've raced a 55-hp TT 350z in the 300 and got walked like I was standing still.

  • @RiceKiller191 so there is no way that you would be making that kind of power out of your 94z with 285,000 miles on it with only $1,100 into it and the other thing is you dont even have the top end to run or even destroy any of the cars you speak of. Do to the fact that you are playing into the weakness of your engine and gearing which is your lack of top end speed and stability at high speeds greater then 145mph

  • @Unique377 TT N/A swap. The car had 176k, the engine had 8k mi. It was on the street, so how often do you race above 130mph there or even at a local track for that matter? It had stock N/A gears in it so it was geared low anyways but I have driven it at 150+/- mph (spedo was off).

Single pop, turbo back exhaust, 14.5 psi tune, stock turbo's at 17psi, 97octane. a couple other mods I can't remember. You can not believe me all you want.

  • @RiceKiller191 anything is possible but in your case the question has to be asked if what you claim is true? I have a 96 Corvette Coupe both a CBR 600rr and CBR 1000rr race bikes in my garage with engine work/tune in all of them. i have maxed out all of them in many races on the track and on airfields. I would totally get destroyed if i tryed to race a C6 base Z06, ZR1 or even a GT500 on my bikes or even in my Corvette when it came to top end I would only win in the 1/4 mile on my bikes.

  • @Unique377 I never said anything about top speed. Only raced to about 70mph. The Base Vette ended with about 1car, the C6 Z06 had a few lengths, GT500 would have pulled ahead eventually. They can't hook for shit, and the Z had a low gear ratio.

  • @RiceKiller191 I see your point but come on most people who own cars like that dont care to race on the streets first of all do to the fact that there are to many unknown variables i wouldnt be pushing a 80k sports car to the limit on the streets just to smoke some punk kid. Second my friend does no how to drive his Z is capabile of 600hp he just runs it on low boost because he knows that if he pushes his car it will break so whats the point of destroying a car that you put 30k for no reason?

  • @Unique377 I never initiated any of the races except for the Z06. They wanted to race because it was all N/A trim with loud fart cans on the back so they thought it was just another riced Z. Not many tracks where I live, shitty 1/8 is 45min away along with a small course. So most race on the street in my area. 12's is slow for any 500hp car. I'm sure it's not setup for drag racing. Street tires? With DR's or dif. setup easy low 11 car.

  • @RiceKiller191 He has ported heads with TT ungrade cams and full HKS exhuast limited slip rear diff and stage three racing tranny, big racing rotors from brembo along with other high quality upgrades. But he dosent have drag tires currently i bet he can get more out of his Z if he set up the suspension and added drag tires but as it sits right now he just spines the wheels the hole way down tthe 1/4 mile.

  • @thejfactors ok you think a 91 zr1 is set up for drag racing they run 3:07 gear ratios my 94 has 2:59s

  • @jon1986c4 No I don't think a 91 zr1 is the ideal setup for drag racing, I'm just saying it's set considerably better for drag racing than a Z is. You may be looking 4 a simple answer but there isn't one. Hp & torque ratings went up between 91 and 94 iirc and and the gear ratio was lowered accordingly to take advantage of this. 90-96 tt Z's have 3.69 final drive due a different power band. I don't know what 2 tell you, its apples and oranges. Final drive means nothing compared between 2 dif cars

  • Wow that 91 still kicks ass.

  • Corvette vs Corvette... Who won ?!?!? The Corvette

  • 2 awesome vehicles! Great video.

  • Byron dragway, I know it well.

Was that '91 modified in any way?

  • Cool old vs new. That old z hung in there pretty good considering it has so much less power.

  • 12.1 is terrible

  • @5spd5thgen umm its pretty good unless your racing fucking bugattis or some shit

  • damn! nice sound man

  • i think it has to do with the tires!

  • hum hum huuuum huuuuuuuum

  • Ok seems like we all know the C6 ZR-1 runs in the 11' s.

But, not bad for an old timer!! (C4 ZR-1)

  • The ZR1 driver needs to learn how to launch to a better et. I can beat that on my worst day in my Z06.

  • ....18 years of technology advances for..... only 1 sec in the 1/4 mile?...

  • Comment removed

  • @fuzter2007 I think it's more 18yrs of tech was thrown away with either a driver w/o seat time, or someone who doesn't have enough racing exp. ie popping the clutch & boggin down the motor.

  • @fuzter2007 that zr1 can run much faster closer to 11 flat.

  • looked like a fun race . what was done to the 91 zr1????

  • Good damn race!

  • an if u notice, i got a better 60' than the new ZR1 lol

  • @braheem35 Yeah a 2.37 60 isn't very good for much of anything, let alone a ZR1.

  • I dont remember, ill ask but i think it was Eric.

  • @corvettezr1zo6 Wow, are user names are about the same. lol

  • who was i racing against, eric or aj?
