  • God magically impregnated a virgin to give birth to himself to then sacrifice himself to himself in order to save us all from him. I Love it! What a master plan that god guy came up with! Best summary of the Christian belief I've ever heard. The Christians in this video don't even know what they believe or why. It's quite sad.......

  • the guy with the gum is an idiot

  • The gum chewer in the black T-shirt, I don't know, there's confidence and then there's just delusional bravado. It's like me swaggering up to Stanley Kubrick and lecturing him about correct film making techniques when all I've done is some weekend reading and joined a film club.

  • @MrFunBusiness That was such a dumb comment that I have no retort.

  • the guy in the black shirt is the epitome of douchery.

  • "Your an ignorant fool"

    LIKE A BOSS!!!

  • Zombie Jesus mad, Zombie Jesus smash.

  • Lava coming out of a volcano is not four hours old, you goddamn moron! The elements composing that lava have been around...oh...let's say...LONGER THAN FOUR FUCKING HOURS! And people wonder why atheists get angry at these absolutely fucking stupid people.

  • Yeah, how could you believe the earth just came about magically? It was obviously created by a supernatural eternal deity. Gotta love these guys.

  • I would love a free edition of origin of the species; simply rip out Creationist crap and have a hell of a great read.

  • I don't know who's more annoying: The guy chewing gum and saying that radiometric dating is a hoax, or the atheist kid in a jean jacket that thinks he owned someone in a religious debate.

  • I also think the moment PZ Myers reveals that he's a biologist the Ray Comfort troglodyte may have pooped his pants a little...or a lot 'cause he's kind of a big dude.

  • Oh a CALVANIST?! No wonder he's such an aggro jerk! It's easy to try and posture yourself in an intimidating way when you think you're one of the lucky ones made then chosen by God to go to Heaven. Anyone ever met a Calvinist who thought they were destined for Hell? Me neither. That should tell us all something.

  • @PaladinHero I am a Calvinist and believe that if it weren't for God's mercy I would be going to hell. I didn't do anything to gain His love. It was by His spirit that I have been transformed. I hope that He does the same for you. Listen for His calling in your heart.

  • @MrFunBusiness Thanks for proving my point, dude. Keep your arrogant assumptions to yourself; I spent about 20 years and my entire youth as a dedicated Xian. Reading and studying the Bible in ordination classes was the final nail in the coffin (along with the hypocrisy and arrogant ignorance, the incompatibility of "God is Love" with the rest of the YHWH character, and all of reality and science). I listened for years--often in tears; there's nothing there but our consciences.

  • @PaladinHero I am glad to hear that you have had a chance to hear the Gospel. I hope one day you are able to come back to God and realize that all Christians are hypocrits and need Jesus the Christ.

  • @MrFunBusiness I appreciate your good will (truly) and you're right, all Xians ARE hypocrites, but not b/c they're sinful beings needing salvation; it's b/c the Bible and Xianity demand behaviors no Xian can surmount yet they chastise others over. Show me a Xian who preaches the adultury of lust and I'll show you a hypocrite. There's no honor in unreachable expectations that hinder a full life. Again, I appreciate the sentiment but I've been there. No thanks. Deal with real human psychology 1st.

  • haha the ending!! christianity is superbly WORSE than islam. i mean i can't believe these deluded monkeys.

  • Religion makes ignorant people confident in their "knowledge" and intellectually lazy. Why learn something new when you think you have all the answers? Absent his religious beliefs, the gum-chewing-fool would have known he was out of his league challenging PZ.

  • I HATE the building-body analogy. It's so poorly thought out

  • Why did the dickhead towards the end get an education and I have to go to college to get one? I want PZMyers to teach me for free!

  • Astrology is still accepted to varying degrees by a majority of human beings. An idea with no basis in reality is hooey. Being popular for a very long time does not render hooey any less hooey.

  • @Kailoa36 I will add that there is no accounting for the stupidity of the human species. We are a species capable of both profound heights of wisdom and dismal depths of stupidity, sometimes in the same individual. Francis Collins comes to mind.

  • Christians don't believe in radiometric dating, unless it proves the age of Noah's ark

  • Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" 29 And Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!" 30 So the donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?

    Sounds fucking reasonable to me!

  • If you encounter somebody who nods and says "Mhmm" like a jackass when they obviously disagree with you, there is probably no getting through to them.

  • that dude with the gum need to go to hell tho.. "/

  • Is the guy on drugs or something? He's chewing that gum like a motherfucker

  • 3:05 to 3:40 rofl

  • Catholics aren't Christians now. Lutherans and Calvinists are Baptists. I have learned that a building equates to God. I have learned so much.

  • "no no, this is the greatest courtesy I can show you... Is honesty" classic!

  • i hope christians see how badly they look and how horribly represented by this fat guy...

  • "sacrificed himself to save us from him" EPIC

  • P.Z. gives these people exactly the respect they deserve.

  • Yuck. I could never talk to trash like the chewing gum chewing Billy Bob there. And what's the point, he's obviously too retarded to understand any science anyway.:)

  • "Cause your and ignorant fool"

    "Uh huh, uh huh"

    lol

  • The biology professor has no idea what he is talking about.

  • @ProtestantsRUs Yeah, that professor who has dedicated his entire life to academics and the pursuit of knowledge has no idea what he is talking about, but those dumb redneck theists do? You must be that gum chewing hillbilly! What a moron

  • @MrKGatl How many serial killers and ignorant dictators dedicated their lives to what they beilieved in? Does that make them right and you wrong for disagreeing with them? PZ is just a man and he always will be. He will die one day just like all of us. Nothing special about him compared to you

  • @ProtestantsRUs

    TrollsRUs

  • And there's the proof. Being a good debater doesn't make you right. That guy really owned the conversation. Part of the reason was that he didn't really listen to anything the other guy was saying; he was only waiting for his chance to tear the other guy down. That's why I hate debates, they have nothing to do with finding out who is right, or even convincing the other guy. It's just about winning this battle, trying to score cheap shots.

  • @Drecon84

The young man proved himself to be abjectly ignorant on any number of issues. There can be no real debate unless BOTH participants know what they're talking about

  • How can you tell when a Christian hasn't read the Bible?

    They're still Christian.

  • @rkyeun That is a funny comment, but fortunately for me I have read the Bible and still believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the Savior of the world. May God open your eyes and show you His love. I am sorry if Christians have offended you, but don't let that keep you from believing in the Jesus.

  • @MrFunBusiness

Nothing in the Bible is what a moral person would call love.

God doesn't open people's eyes. It takes a talking snake and forbidden fruit to do that, apparently.

I hope you read the REST of the Bible, and not just the "nice presentable parts" your pastor picks and chooses for you.

  • @rkyeun Just because you listen to the PARTS that your atheist teachers read to you doesn't mean I haven't read the whole Bible due to what my pastor teaches from. I have read the whole Bible more than once. Have you?

  • @MrFunBusiness Lets get realistic here, shall we ? The reason you are a christian is that you where raised a christian, and nothing else ! Christianity is rotten and evil to the core. So many of my kin have died horrible deaths because they trusted you christians and let you into our communities. You thanked us by waiting till you had convinced enough people and then viciously slaughter the rest or force them to join your cult. The same evil has happened all over the world !!!

  • @MrRichardQED You're entitled to your opinion. I'm sorry for what happened to your friends. Being a Christian is much harder than being an atheist. Loving Jesus makes Christians hated by the world. I'll choose Jesus any day to the hate the world shows everyday.

  • @MrFunBusiness You forget the fact most of the world's hate stems from religion, a good portion specifically comes from the christian belief.

  • @MrFunBusiness So have I and millions of others, and they didn't find love or compassion.

  • @MrFunBusiness There is far more evidence for aliens with advanced technology who visit earth and even abduct people, but ZERO proof for "gods". There is absolutely nothing important about the bible compared to any other book in the library.

  • @MrFunBusiness If you read the Koran or the mythology of ancient Greece, you probably would miss them out of hand because in your mind you already have decided what to believe. Thus what ever texts or arguments are presented to you, you will filter it trough those preassumptions which lead you back to where you start.

That's blind faith for you. It can't see objectively.

Billions believe in deities you don't and you're thinking your's is the right one?

    What an arrogant statement.

  • 7:37 I do not believe this man has ever read a book.

  • "I'm not for Catholicism; I'm for Christianity." "There's a lot of false coverts in every religion."

PROTESTANTISM ("Christianity" as you put it.) CAME FROM CATHOLICISM YOU MORON!!! Ever heard of Martin Luther and the 95 thesis?

  • @TheLedgendaryNinja Martin Luther revived true Christianity when he realized that the Catholics were taking it in the wrong direction. Christ came before Catholics decided to make it into something it never was meant to be.

  • God spoke the word to get Mary pregnant ?

What were the words ? FUS RO DAH ?!

  • @gaglamesh731

Judas hit Jesus with Krii Lun Aus

  • Textbook. How reasoning with the unreasonable will crash and burn every single time.

  • Trying to educate these people is pointless. The fact of the matter is, to become a scientist takes a certain amount of intelligence coupled with many years of study. Morons like the two featured in this video lack the ability to understand the complexities of even basic biology. They are also too ignorant to know what they don't know and wilfully ignorant at that.

  • Can't we all just get along? Just re... re... re..lax relax.

  • That guy is a major dick.

  • Religion consists, to a large degree, of ridiculous ideas, on the level of old wives' tales, but which have survived and gained credibility through being supported by powerful religious institutions.

  • the guy is so funny, he belive in the lutheran church and babtist church...........aha, does he know that their bibels got rewitten and rewritten >)

  • Calvin and Luther are in opposition to one another though, moron.

  • he said one thing right. he was indeed "courtesy to" pz

    wait..

  • I get a headache just listening to these people.

Man, PZ is so right, it was an ignorant fool talking to an educated person.

The twists and jumps in logic these people make is just mindblowing.

  • Thats realy not fair. You got an expert atheist talking to just a plain believer. I think the interesting discussion would be between, lets say, three high ranking Catholic priests from Rome (or 3 high ranking Orthodox priests from Greece and Russia if you like) and three knowledgeable atheist scientists of the caliber of James Randi, Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawkings etc... That I'd like to see!

  • @billysgeo James Randi isn't a scientist, he's a magician ...

And, I don't understand what you are getting at, the RC is behind science on all sorts of things, they know, if they wish to have any shred of credibility, they have to drop some of the idiotic dogma.

US Christians are immature and sected. They all believe different things, based on interpretations of some uneducated douche that started yet another church and they have lost all touch with reality when it comes to what they believe.

  • @enlightendbel I am not getting at anything. I said what I wanted. It was pretty straight forward. ...OK, strike out Randi and put Carl Sagan in his place.

  • @billysgeo true, if anyone can talk to dead people its probably high ranking priests :p

(just pulling your leg dude ^-^ can I haz sarcasm?

  • @billysgeo How about you pick three real Christians like John MacArthur, Ravi Zacharius, and R.C. Sproul. They would give your atheists a run for their money with the exception that athiests won't believe anything that contradicts their beliefs.

  • @MrFunBusiness LOL... you got it a bit backwards, atheist do NOT believe, religion people have beliefs. And why only Christians? Why not get one top representative from each "big" religion? Catholics, Orthodox, Buddhists, Hindu, the lot. All of them trying to convince 4-5 top atheists that there actually is some some great mind/ghost/power overlooking all of the universe. I'll bet that 30min in the conversation the religion group will be fighting each-other, the atheists laughing!

  • @billysgeo If you don't want to call your beliefs...beliefs then that is your right, but I disagree. The reason it wouldn't do any good to get the top rep from each religion is because Christians believe in Jesus as the only way where all other religions believe in the individual person to get themselves to heaven. Plus all other religions view God completely differently.

  • @MrFunBusiness All of them "other religions" that you mention TRULY believe their GOD (or gods) are the true ones. Some are a lot older that Christianity. However none is older than mankind (so don't rely with something like "newer is better". It's all man-made)

  • @billysgeo Please take your own advice when it comes to "newer is better". Darwin's ideas are only 150 years old and still are just a THEORY! LOL

  • Your inane babbling Confuses PZ Myers.

  • I can't stand the way that guys is chewing that gum.....FUUUCK! I WANT TO PUNCH HIM!!!!!

  • Hahahah just listen to the religious people... they can't even put together coherent, fluent arguments. Most of the times you can infer somebody's intelligence/stupidity by just listening to him speak.

  • I wish these christians would at least learn some of the fundamentals of science before making wild assertions. Whether they agree with it or not, they should at least know what the science actually says. That's the problem most of the time, is the sheer ignorance and illiteracy of the science, because of the intellectual laziness and dishonesty that sets up one strawman after another. it's sad that they'd rather preach instead of learning something interesting; now THAT is an empty life!

  • I'm disappointed

  • true but rude

  • My response to the Christian asking "Why's that?" after Myers says "there's nothing believable in the Bible:" I have never confirmed anything I have read in there with the same certainty and consistency as when I look under a microscope, or use my senses, or apply logic and reason. The only evidence I have for these claims is a credulous person arguing that God exists and the Bible is accurate. Geological, archaeological, chemical, and biological evidence do not support supernatural claims.

  • It's just the craziest thing that the reliability of physics and chemistry is only applied as current. Laws of physics must not have always been laws. Same for chemistry. Animal behavior in the sense of evolution, must be separate from development of species. Synchronized, autonomous evolution(s)? The yet-to-be-written book...

  • @MrAnymeansnecessary You make a few assertions in your second posts which I feel must be called to attention: "Laws of physics must not have always been laws. Same for chemistry. Animal behavior in the sense of evolution, must be separate from development of species." How do you know either of these things?

Also (on the video), while these protestors are not well equipped, that is not the problem of PZ or JT. The protestors came with a specific message and were made to defend it.

  • @Saavykaas Sorry you missed the sarcasm of the latter post. I feel it must be called to attention. I believe the term I used was "random mutation". "We need to demonstrate the connection between lemurs and apes", scientist 1. "Let's call it random mutation!", scientist 2. If evolution has a direction, "random"ness is inherently contradictory.

  • I'm not a Christian. The problem with manufactured scenarios like these is that these people are sent out very poorly equipped to debate with these people. While the premise(the Bible) which they use is a unique sort of self-contradictory jabberwocky, there could at least be an effort to address the real problem with evolution. The best that scientists put out there is random mutation to bridge the gaps between species. The progression of evolution turns out pretty choppy.Someone run the defrag!

  • @MrAnymeansnecessary So your "real problem with evolution" is that there are gaps in the evolutionary record, and the gaps are bridged by application of the process which has been observed in the present to have the very effects that are observed in the record.

I direct you to the Dawkins analogy of the security camera footage gaps, wherein a conviction of an accused is challenged based upon brief gaps where no cameras observe him. Neither here nor in evolution is this workable as a challenge.

  • @MrAnymeansnecessary Cont. from Reply #1: The fossil record is quite thorough in giving us ample intermediary forms ("transitional forms") that show the "in-betweens" of species. Not all transitions are covered and they do not need to be; a reproducible, observable process that produces speciation which is consistent with the speciation seen in the fossil (and nascent genetic) record. "Choppy" is not applicable, and defragmentation is not a sound metaphor.

  • @Saavykaas Correction: add "is readily available." to the end of the last sentence of the second reply.

  • I actually feel sorry for that guy and the woman, they're so ignorant and delusional but they don"t see it, I feel sorry so many of my fellow humans are like this.

  • @Relaxe ok well yes they both are a little slow in terms of understanding. BUT I believe in Jesus and that he walked on water etc. But before we get into that lets break it down. Was Jesus a real man? Yes he existed, non christian historians such as Tacitus confirms the bibles account of the death at the cross, second consider the impact of Jesus, we now live in 2011 he spilit time in half when he died, so thats 2 reasons to choose Christianity, shall I continue ?

  • @hinc1mike Haha, are you serious?

  • @Relaxe Well I gotta explain myself better, I was tossed the logical fallacy Pascals Wager, and the main premise of it is why is my religion correct when there are hundreds, and I submit Jesus had a impact stronger then the others

  • @hinc1mike I point you to figures of religion such as Vishnu, Buddha Siddartha and (possibly) the Chan/Zen monk Dharma/Daruma. If we delve further into history I submit that Vedic Pre-Hindu religion had a massive influence on not only its region but thinking across the Eurasia/Africa land contiguous landmass, contributing in measurable ways to all three of my examples.

This is all tangential as "influence" is not contingent on existence. For example, Socrates is likely a fiction of Plato.

  • @hinc1mike Walked on WATER? Boy, you sure are a DUMB FUCK. Look at the Old Testament. You can totally see that the ruthless god of the O.T. was created by men who were more primitive than the Goddamn liars who came up with the more modern, peaceful Jesus. The entire Bible REEKS of ancient mythology. Pascal's wager? When you die, the Creator of the universe is going to say, "You actually thought I was that complete asshole as described in the Bible? You're going to HELL, motherfucker!"

  • Comment removed

  • You can go FUCK your Jesus, you dumb fucking BITCH.

  • @lotanddaughters whats the name of the spirit of anger lodged inside of you ? lol

  • Looks like a couple of more Christian DUMB FUCKS.

  • People aren't very bright. Scientists and Christians. Pretty generalized. IMO The atheists and the biblical religions both have it wrong. Each side tends to act like fools. Its not an intellectual exchange debate or exchange of idea's when it comes down to a dick measuring contest, and name calling.

  • Wow christians are not very bright.

  • That's painful to watch.

  • I'm not a big fan of PZ but I never get tired of watching him tell that guy he's an ignorant fool.

  • When PZ opens his mouth I get sick and vomit.

  • (to PZ) "What are the major differences (between baptist and lutheran)?" I love PZ's incredulity to this. 60 years ago, this guy would be distinctly aware of the differences between the denominations, but these days they're all just seen as "christian". Does nobody remember that Kennedy's being a catholic was such a big issue in the election?

  • "what was Hitler, what was he spreading" HAHAHA the guy has nothing upstairs, he's just throwing out every talking point and canard he's heard over the years without anything really logically holding it all together.

  • the guy is wearing a turtleneck under a t-shirt, with a chain, in the year 2011....'nuff said.

  • Comment removed

  • That was excellent i mean he put up with the guys shit for ages I dont think that I could have. I mean he didn't even know much about his own religion and that would be a minimum if your going to aproach pz for a street debate. Gloves off you ignorant fool. And as for the philosophy major? She claims that she was an atheist then became a person of reasoned faith after reading the bible but that the turin shroud is evidence even if its not. Her idea of resonable and mine are apparently different.

  • Really? Even I wouldn't argue with a biologist.

  • I really, really hate people who chew gum like that.

  • @bnzss Especially people who at least appear to be adults!

  • @bnzss whys that, whys that, whys that. That guy was retarded.

  • Comment removed

  • "What's your evidence?"

    "The Shroud of Turin!"

    ...

"Okay, so the Shroud of Turin was fake, but that's not important!"

    - Brilliant!

  • PZ has balls! HAHAHAHA!!!

  • Its like the Christians are animals with shit for brains.

  • "I'm not for Catholicism. I'm for Christianity". Oh wow...

  • What a gum-chewing bimbo.

  • I think I see the tactic now- everything else has failed so creationists have resorted to "concern trolling". 1 - Make ignorant claims 2 - Get called ignorant 3 - Complain that "this is not polite discourse" and claim victory.

  • I think that PZ was harsh on the guy he could just humbly advice him to go learn so that people take him seriously ...

  • I'm sorry but this PZ is full of himself and an arrogant, pompous, jerk. I am really good friends with atheists that would never be so belittling and degrading, even in a heated debate. I am a christian, and i do realize christians can be jerks as well. I don't understand why such hostility from atheists(or from christians), if their so secure about their worldview? I am very secure about my belief in God, but would never resort to insulting someones intelligence.

  • @homelesspoet I think anyone who displays such hostility has some underlying issues, whether atheist or christian. Either the atheist is not so sure he believes there is no God or the christian is not so sure he believes there is a God. Either way the insults need to stop on both sides.

  • @homelesspoet Don't confuse hostility and contempt for insecurity. It's quite possible to think someone is an asshole for many reasons, none of which have anything to do with insecurity.

  • @homelesspoet

The reason PZ called him an ignorant fool is that the christian wished to claim that he had had an "intellectual" debate with him. PZ would not wish to concede on video that what that bloke was saying was in any way "intellectual", it would be quote mined adnorsium. The fact is that the christian was ignorant and most probably a fool.

  • @homelesspoet I think you said "full of himself and an arrogant, pompous jerk" but really meant to say "absolutely right."

  • @homelesspoet the guy IS ignorant so he's just making an accurate statement.

  • @homelesspoet You just said that PZ is "full of himself and an arrogant, pompous jerk." But PZ is wrong to call an ignorant person ignorant?

  • I get so sick of all these fundamentalist Christians claiming that they used to be atheists.

  • @Eosimias100 Isn't everybody born one? ;-)

...I know what you mean though: people trying to be St. Paul, right?

  • I have yet to find a video or any sort of documentation that doesn't show the creationists' faith is based on ignorance

  • "I have evidence that I found in the Bible." LOL.... LOL... and LOL.. so THAT's where evidence comes from... fictional storybooks.. . damn what am I doing

  • @botchbud There's evidence to be found in J.K. Rowling's books, of hippogryphs and acromantulas and basilisks! Why aren't they teaching about them in schools?! I mean we have evidence right? Harry Potter fought them! :p

  • So essentially they're all morons.

  • Hitler was not a Catholic! this guy is a moron! Hitler was a theosophist.

  • @homelesspoet Didn't Hitler go to Catholic school?

  • @jimmydoolittle22

Technically I suppose you could say he was catholic, and he made some allusions to being so when 'convenient' early on when he was seeking power. However Hitler tended to believe his own personal actions were the result of 'providence,' i.e. a rather vague force of history, almost. He never practiced or adhered to anything remotely 'catholic' and indeed was quite hostile to it, eventually planning on eradicating the church, coming as as the 'avenger,' after he won the war.

  • 3:00 That woman believes in the Bible because she has reason and evidence. She has reason and evidence because she believes in the Bible.

Who else facepalmed at that logic?

  • @5:09 Baptist, Calvin what?!....then Lutheran!!!, ahh yes "Of the Jews and their lies" Great.....Martin Luther draws up the blueprint for the "final solution" Hitler follows it and this gum chewing nitwit is oblivious to it- and even REFERENCES HITLER!!! (earlier in the video) I love the sweet irony!!!! Spit out the gum and pick up a library card.

  • I love how christians often begin with, "I used to be an atheist, but..."

I am sorry, but I have a hard time believing this when you have no idea what constitutes evidence.

  • These creationists always look so butt-hurt.

  • @JohnWoo its because they are looking at something who's very existence, very presence within their line of sight challenges their beliefs. when a fundie sees someone of another belief who is claiming that they believe it based on evidence, that upsets them, because THEY believe their stance is based on evidence.and the things they have been told about these people is they they are arrogant claiming to know things they couldnt possibly know, and other acts of projection.

    least they dont have rocks

  • 3:30 on is epic I love P.Z. Myers I lol'ed

  • The only way that chewing cow could ever be spoken too without a mouth full of gum is in Singapore. Disgusting manners on that Creationists part :(

    Well done PZ :)

  • Fuck, i'm about to get married and had to cofirm and went to premarital school on the catholic church.... damn i was 2 seconds away of shooting myself... ignorant fool was a courtesy in this case

  • He was a rather large ignorant fool. PZ must have some balls.

  • Why why why can't the Christians just let us have our Skepticon in peace? We don't protest around their churches every Sunday. Can't they just give us one damn day??!!

  • PZ Meyers is my new hero. I'm going to watch the unabridged version, this one was so good!

  • PZ correctly pointed out that the ignorant fool was an ignorant fool.

  • Comment removed

  • Those Christians sure demonstrated that it requires ignorance to believe this stuff. Not even a clue what evidence is and no idea that they have no reason whatsoever to believe as they do. The inanity of that Christian explaining Biology to a biologist and not realizing that "ignorant fool" was just an honest description - he met the dictionary definition of the two words - not an insult. When you meet the definition of ignorant fool perhaps you should re-appraise you position.

  • The PZ slap...ouch that hurt.

  • pz gives minnesota back the dignity bachmann has stolen

  • How can you be a false convert when you are raised into the catholic church? I dont know why I watch things like this, it overloads my bullshit detector to dangerous levels.

  • Some of our atheist population just haven’t yet realized that there are some religious people who are so misguided and/or deluded, that you can't possibly reason with them. If PZ spent any time on youtube debating Fundies, he would already have learned this important fact.

  • @AtheistToothFairy Some of our atheist population just haven't yet realized that there are some people who debate with misguided and/or deluded people knowing they cannot convince them but also knowing that someone else watching the exchange may benefit from it.

  • @jimmydoolittle22

    I agree :)

  • @jimmydoolittle22

    Very good point.

  • @AtheistToothFairy Don't you read his blog? He is very well aware of all kinds of loonies and at no time did he suffer from the illusion that he could sway this guy. It was, as you could see, purely for his own amusement, and for the benefit of fence-sitters to get shown how ridiculous the arguments of believers are. I mean, come on: "A building has a builder". Yeah, so what? Does a cloud have a clouder? Does a snowflake have a snowflaker?

  • @lagerbaer

NO, I don't read the PZ blog.

I'm quite familiar with these fundie arguments and I'm sure PZ is as well. What shocks me is that he spent all that time on the STREET, debating such lame apologetics with some average fundie Joe
