  • THANKS Jane !! ;-))

  • Alec, what a great time to post this video on the anniversary.

    Wonderful job!

I remember going to the theater in 1982 to see The Wall. What an experience. I thought the animation was so amazing.

Ha, ha....loved the little teacher part at the end.

  • ;-) Thank you dear Lisa !!! Watching The Wall movie made me a Pink Floyd fan, but not in 1982 cause I was born in 1983 hehehe ! I enjoyed the making of the mad teacher part ... the book I hit enjoyed it less ^_^ (but it wasn't an expensive one)

  • And I stay in between of you and Alec.. i didn't see it in theatre because i was a too young boy having its brain washed by school - and the theatre with the movie was exactly in front of it! See my story in my comment below!

  • Great music and singing! What a voice :-)

  • ^_^ Thanks a lot Kate !

  • My comment, Part I Orgasmusic! :-D My comment, Part II I would have loved to listen to your voice with reverb as if you were down there, with the orchestra... but I'm more than sure that you've made this choice for a good reason... as always! ^_^ My comment, Part III I just love some of the vocalisms you've added/customized here and there! :-D 5*+fav. My comment, Part IV Happy (belated) Berlin wall falldown anniversary! ^_^
  • Thank you Dan !!! I'm happy you liked it ! About point number 2, yes, it was a specific decision to not use reverb on this particular one. I can't record directly with reverb at the moment, you know, and I usually add it later. This time I felt that a later reverb could reduce the -impact- of some vocals (I made some tests) so I decided to keep the vocals pure here :-)

  • You're very welcome!

    In facts, I supposed it!

    ^_^

  • I was on the point to say too, that I would have preferred reverb and eq on voice to stay in line with this orchestra recording, which has a lot of reverb. I now read that Alec did some test about.

  • Of course, I understand that it isn't absolutely easy to find a reverb effect like the one (probably real, I guess) used for the orchestra: and I understand, as well, that equalizing is quite a hard and delicate process... still, the curiosity to hear how it could be, to have AleC as if he was there, in the middle of the orchestra, remains!

Who knows, maybe one day he'll change his mind and will try a different mix!

    ^_^

  • I would not try a different mix with this same voice recording, but I'd happily re-record it again in the future with a better audio equipment and real-time-reverb-effect ;-)

  • Ah, that's good!

    :-)

  • Well done my friend !

Great song and wonderful cover !

5* ,share and add in fav.

  • Merci Lionel ! Thanks for commenting, rating, favoriting and sharing, my friend ^_^ You are so precious !

  • I really love this well done Alec!! xxxx

  • Thank you Michelle, thank you very much !

  • Grande Alex!!!

  • ^_^ Sono felice che ti sia piaciuta la mia versione Ema !

  • Brividi...

  • Grazie anche qui Giulio ;-)))

  • ..Bravo Alex !!!! Complimenti......

  • Grazie ancora Shiver ;-)

  • Alec....EPIC!

You left out from the description what happened in the 9th November 1999.

  • Thanks Josè !!

Ehm ... I didn't know anything worth a mention in this context happened in the 9th November 1999 sorry !

  • Excellent and impressive your voice in this new video, Alec !. The Wall of P.F. is a song that's always nice to hear and you've done a pretty good version. I congratulate you once again , because with your talent and creativity have done a good job. 5***** and...direct to my blog !

  • Thank you so much dear Mila ! :-)

  • 5 stelle !!! Luca.

  • Grazie molte Luca ^_^

  • Great. In the beginning your voice seems a lot of Roger Waters'.

Infinite red dots run over this place.

  • ;-) Thanks Carlos !!

  • Excellent interpretation, Alec! You're great at hitting the high notes!! I like the video, too. Is it easy to make the letters move that way? I wouldn't know how to do it with imovie.

  • Thank You ^_^ About the letters, I use Windows Movie Maker, so I don't know much about Machintosh iMovie, sorry.

  • great work... I love the whole album and movie The Wall and you did an amazing cover! 5*

  • Muchas gracias Silvia !! (I Love both the album and the movie too ... I became a Floyd fan watching that movie !)

  • Molto bella ! Bravissimo, come sempre! 5*

  • Grazie Mari ^_^ Molto gentile !

  • The song also puts me back to earlier memories. When in first 80s the movie The Wall was published, I had a movie theatre exactly in front of the door of my secondary school. And it was a rather severe school.. All girls had to have a long black tunic and in interval we had to stay in our floor and circulate in counterclockwise sense; the food had to be bought with special tokens....

    "Wrong, Do it again!"

"If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding!"...

  • Thanks for sharing these memories. I always hated going to school 'cause I hated to have a deadline time to remember some notions or you're OUT, but stricly talking about professors I was lucky 'till high school ... in high school I met a prof identical to the teacher in The Wall movie and videoclip. A frustrated person who used to transfer his frustration to us. I hope he stopped teaching as soon as possible. He must have been another brick in a lot of walls !

  • Hey another time we published a video the same day!

So.. great singing as always, I like your vocal experiment (it doesn't seem vocals taken from different styles) and I like the video.. both the fast writings, and the "teacher scene".

And a great idea publishing it for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall! I distinctly remember seeing the Roger Waters concert in TV, featuring various stars including Cindy Lauper which, if I remember right, sung on this piece.

  • Thank you Giorgio ^_^ I'm happy the vocals fit right with the progression feeling of this arrangement. Yes, it was Cindy Lauper singing on this one on Berlin - a nice idea if you want my opinion to show a female student roaring in this one ... together with the many annoying remaks of bad teachers for all the students, female students useD to be hurt by teachers also for using lipstick too early and things like that in the past.

  • Yes, Cindy Lauper was just perfect for that! She was very rebel!

  • Good!

E sono il primo!!! I am the first!

  • Thank You Albe ! ^_^

Poi con calma ripassa quando comparirà il bottone HQ, così l'ascolterai meglio ;-)
