:o ... my hands (especially right) would be completely out of juice after the first verse... excluding the intro... this man has no muscles, pure steel
@interpidwoody Many people find a lot of pearl inlay on a guitar [which I call "pimpish bling"] beautiful. You must be one of 'em. I hate all the pearl bling on the expensive Martins & the gold tuners are ugly.
I saw him in Chicago last night for the 1st time...an incredible talent! I've watched the Sloe Gin Video at least 10 times today. Why is this guy not more well known???
I love how the audience is absolutely silent through the whole thing to give the song the full effect. They don't dare spoil the quiet sections. Just listening and enjoying.
2 dislikes, 2 effing dislikes, what the f**k do you want, the man is f**king brilliant, you must be the devil and god, no wonder you're stuck at the crossroads, miserable sods.
If even I had the skills to play this ( I don't. let''s be clear), no way could I play it in the prestigious royal albert hall with filled to the brim with thousands of people watching me ... hell, that's a quite a skill in itself
I imagine watching John Mayer triying to get this song must be like watching a monkey trying to use a computer... with the 2001 an space odyssey movie scene of the bone in the in the air, but with a guitar instead
one reason i hate Joe Bonamassa concerts...in fact this is the only reason...no offense to anyone watching, but his fan base is too...unenergetic at concerts....sitting down and bobbing the head a little, i want to stand without fear of some dude sayign "hey sit down up there"....this is rockinng blues, and the crowd needs to respond to it.....
@soocool78 im going to see him tonight and i`ll be standing up i dont care what anyone says and if the guy behind me tells me to sit down i`ll tell him he`d better stand up i`ll probably be standing on my chair in a minute
@soocool78 You do realize this is THE Royal Albert Hall, don't you? And besides, not everyone responds the same way you do, or the way you want them too. I know I wouldn't get up, regardless of how good the music is or how jamming it is. I'm laidback. And honestly, who cares what the crowd is doing?
@moneyquickeasy i know what your saying and i can respect that, but sometimes i feel that the energy the crowd brings also brings energy to the show...but yes i guess with the Royal Albert Hall, sitting down ain't so bad...but otherwise i stand by my point (though i do see where your coming from)
@soocool78 Yeah, I guess that is true. The excitement of the crowd does add a lot of energy to the whole show. Obviously no one wants a crowd that just stares. But you really shouldn't hate his concerts just because of the audience. He's always throws a jaw-dropping performance every time. :)
@moneyquickeasy i guess when i said "one reason" i really meant, the only reason, hes freaking amazing live, unbelieavable..i love seeing him, i would never not go just because the crowd doesn't share the noticeable excitement that i do :D
Simply stunning. Joe has spent most of his life playing & opened for BB King when he was 12 years old!!!! At present he is one of the best blues players on the planet. This piece demonstrates what 8 to 10 hours of practice, per day for 20 years can achieve.
I've heard Joe talk about how hard he worked to master his craft. But isn't it great to see someone who was born to play guitar achieve a goal he set for himself when he was young? Truly, one of the greats of our or any time!......Roy
Its one thing to listen to him, something completely different watching just how fast his fingers are and how impressive it is that he doesnt miss a single cord at any moment. Eddie Van Halen was praised for this same abillity, but Eddie could never dream of playing like this.
When I saw him last year he played this on an Alvarez. I know he was having problems with the electronics on the Yamaha. He got so frustrated, he just handed it to a woman in the front row at a show in Paris. Talk about a souvenir !!
Come on......So he plays a Yamaha and some how we are suppose to think that Yamaha guitars are WHAT? Are ALL CUSTOM MADE by their engineers and would cost a normal person 8-10,000 dollars for the same attention and details? Or, that just because he uses one that HE IS PAID TO USE IT AND ITS ALL CUSTOM MADE?
Well, if that guitar is exactly available, I mean every single detail for a normal Yamaha price Im interested.
My wife and I saw him last week at a small auditorium in Rochester New York USA. There were only 2000 people there. How many people fill Royal Albert Hall?

THE GUITAR-MAN !!!! Je vous conseille l'album " the ballad of john henry " vraiment terrible .... et ce moment au Royal Albert Hall, un instant magique ..... j'adoooore !!!
@Sif3r i agree!..i heard this piece from one of his live albums where the audience was hooting and hollering, and that obnoxious occasional 'YeeeeeHawwwww!' just took away from the recording..i watched and listened to this video in THX concert mode on my computer..the guitar and vocal surrounding me was awesome!..looking forward to him booking a concert in Michigan soon...

Very nice, clean looking guitar. Unlike some of those Martins that are loaded up with bling.

This performance speaks more for the ones handling the electronics than it does the Yamaha guitar. Any quality acoustic would do.
