Well I dont know about the UK, but I'm an American. And in America, if it can be bought legally, it can be owned legally. I own 10 shotguns, of all different gauges, I have half a dozen semi automatic rifles. I own 1 Winchester lever action 30-30. 3- 9mm pistols, 1- .40cal pistol and all my pistols have extended clips. And all the ammo I could ever want. I also have knives that I carry DAILY that have blades ranging from 3-13 inches(depending on the day) God bless America.
anything bigger than 2" is illegal to carry in the uk, and automatic weapons licenses are available providing you r a member of a shooting club, hope this helped all the stupid comment issuers
u r talking crap, only folding, non locking blades under 3" are legal, no bigger or locking or fixed, but you can carry them if you have a good reason for it, like bushcrafting, you cant have automatic weapons here, no-one can, you can have semi auto rifles but they are very hard to get, bolt action are a little easier, shotgun easier still
@CRAFTYCARPER84 in the UK a non-locking blade under 3" is ok to carry in public, anything over you have to have a good reason. As far as firearms go you can only obtain a shotgun or single shot rifle with the correct license, air pistols over the power of 6ft/lbs are classed as a a sub-machine gun and cannot be owned. Live round pistols are completely illegal, and have been banned since i think the Dunblaine shooting happened.
I'm lucky enough to live in the country, and if i can stay away from town centres ect. Although when travelling to the woods i always keep my knife along with small hatchet concealed in my rucksack out of sight. I believe a lock knife of any blade length is illegal to carry in a public place (uk law). And prefer a fixed blade for lots of reasons - mainly the variety of jobs which it can be used for... ;-]
I am american so I am able to carry a small folding knife in town (EDC) I do like a good fixed blade in the bush for its versatility and durabiltity, I would much rather have a fixed blade in the bush
Yeah i agree, a good quality fixed blade can be a really reliable and useful tool in all sorts of bushcraft/camping tasks. I am jealous of american law, our goverment could learn a lot from some of your laws. The right for every man to have some sort of self-defence (eg gun) in his own home. Our laws suck!
The most you can have without a licence is a air rifle! A shotgun is legal with a licence and a firearm licence to have a standard rifle is almost impossible to get. Any sort of automatic gun or handgun is illegal and no licence is available to own either. Not only is this bad news for anyone who wants to hunt in the u.k but defending yourself in your own home is a joke. You think a burglar is going to be worried you might turn an air rifle on him ? ha ha.
In scotland you can not carry a knife at all i know of a boy going to prison for small novelty knife on his keys.

knifes are NOT illegal in the UK. your are perfectly free to carry whatever you please so long as you have good reason to do so.
