hey artosis im looking to get better at starcraft for starcraft 2 but ive been playing for like 10 years... i want to get my apm up... is there anything you would suggest to help me train it higher?
Playing "wrong" isn't the best words to use but there really isn't a more accurate way to describe it. If you aren't playing with practiced build orders you are most likely improvising and making less than optimimal choices. You can win a few games with creative play but in the long run you would become a better player using play style that the top koreans use.
I think what he was saying was that, build-order-wise, the Chinese players are playing slightly slower or less economically efficent builds. I agree with you, if you won, it was the right build, but there's room for improvement. Conversely the unpredictability of that creates a whole new meta-game shift, so...
That's what desperate fanboys do heh. Also don't forget the "crowd effect".When one sees few thumb downs, they continue to thumb down subconsciously trying to fit in with the crowd.
You are my hero Artosis. I love everything you do for SC.
I will just say that having actual teams around the world is good. Whether or not they are doing the best coaching system to me isnt as important as having actual teams in the first place.
While it may not be the correct way I think its an awesome start. Great to hear your side of things!
Artosis just because the Chinese don't copy zerg build orders from Koreans and their unique aggressive style of play isn't a bad thing. If everyone played the same with predictable build orders - what fun would this game be.. when boxer 'cheesed' his way through finals did anyone blame him ? he had a unique way of looking at the game.. I hope China does well at WCG and any foreigner :D
great show! although i have to say i disagree with the notion that someone can play starcraft "wrong". it's one thing if a player just doesn't have an optimized build order and is too lazy to figure one out, but playing a bit out of the ordinary is never a bad thing in my book, especially since the metagame is always changing, and you never know what weird build might be the next big thing.
VERY true, and you could argue that the notion of playing any game "correctly" is actually just simplified to optimization. Playing a certain way is just based off what is popular in the current metagame, and many people don't realize that.
rofl, china copies from everyone... like 99.9% of EVERYONE playing sc1 or sc2 havnt copied 99.9% of their game play from someone to begin with..

i think this show should have less opinion and more reporting. You could cut down each episode down to 1 part which is much more tidy.

those who gave akyo777 thumbs down are ignorant retards, he said his opinion and he was obviously sarcastic about boxer cheesing.
