Aż mi si łza w oku zakręciła w oku, przypomniały mi się czasy mojego dziecinstwa kiedy to nieżyjący już dziś dziadek puszczał na patefonie ten walc, patefon został, ale wiem co sie stało z płytą i wieloma innymi. Chętnie kupię tą płytę jak pan by wiedział o takiej płycie to prosze o namiary

Thank you SO much ! She was quite an artist, pity that her recording legacy is - technically - so poor.

The other Polish artist, Marian Demar, tenor also recorded this number and i will present it too, some day.

Jedną z nich, 'Starą piosenkę' tak i to z Parlophonu. Zaś wersja na Syrenie z "Księciem" jest tylko na 78obr nie przetworzona elektronicznie, więc narazie tylko u mnie i spod prawdziwej igły.

Natomiast podaję Ci do ewent. wyboru to co da się tu uaktywnic: 'A ja wiem'(slowfox), wwym. 'Stara piosenka'(żydowskia), 'Jesienna piosenka'(tango) 'Błękitny kspres'(foxtrot), 'Jakieś małe nic', 'Kniaginiuszka' (Tuwima) i 'Sonny boy' (cudowne wczesne nagranie, które dam chyba sam od siebie).

Więc wybieraj.

Grzegorzu, myślę że o Tango Hiszpańskie w jej wyk. w sąsiedztwie też zahaczyłeś. Tak, to są niesłychane rzeczy, jak się głębiej wsłuchać. Myślę o pewnej dojrzałości. The "King Waltz" is simply "Książę", yes potpourri of Jahann Strauss waltzes; lyrics were written by Julian Tuwim; the reverse siede: "Stara piosenka", also by Tuwim. I do possess in original "Syrena".

She is so tender...I suppose she really was the best singing actress in the thirties. How was her life after the war? When she passed away?

During the war she had a tragic and difficult path of her life; went East to join General Anders wing of the army (the one which did not win the power in Poland after the war) and was looking after the homeless orphans - from USSR to India and Iran. Stayed finally in Beirut, Liban when she passed away due to lung-desease in 1950 at the age of 48. Never saw her home country after the war.
