Finally found this and have to say you gave brilliant advice, I just wish more would learn form it since I have had to deal with so many bad players. I agree with you about singed, jax and moa being fantastic picks for this game type. Though I think you should maybe do an update on this looking at the lethal potential of poppy and what I call the cap happy Rammus some have started to play in dominion. It's mainly tank Rammus with a Priscilla's Blessing rushing ghost caps behind enemies.

I have just transferred over from HON and dominion is something i am interested in. I have a quick question, on dominion should i aim towards picking a carry hero? It seems like ir would be kind of like a great strategy since you level up so quickly and gain gold fast. plz help me as to why not to choose a carry please. I just don't want to spend my points on a useless hero. Which heroes are for dominion?

PS. I play in pick up groups since i don't have much friends on LOL as opposed to Hon

One thing that I think would be better is that you would get point for the time you spend capturing it, instead of getting a chunk when you neutralize/capture it. Sometimes, you gotta decide if you want to rush to top and defend it, or continue to capture a secure base at bot to get those 40points, when you really should go top and def it.

Not that pro here, but I find that if you have a good burster like Poppy and a partner you can do a lot of dmg by fighting opponents in the jungle while they are cycling to other points. Ambush tactics. Obviously, that is situational, but there is some merit to it.

Also, don't forget that the Hextech Sweeper has an Active. You can drop a cloud where if anyone runs through it it reveals them for X number of seconds. If you don't want to cast something to reveal Akali, just drop the cloud on her bubble or if you are good at judging where say Shaco will run after a deceive you can catch him in it quite a lot.

It's also nice to see someone else who plays Maokai frequently like myself. He's by far my most favorite champion.

@Aldowyn I never have a problem with Talon, or any stealthy...just get a Lightbringer if you're AD, or a Sweeper if you're AP.

I mostly play Mao, my best game yet is 21/12/21 K:D ratio, 1st on the team - 1453 Score. That was against an Akali and Shaco, and yes, we won. :P

I'm sick of getting teammates that think it's a good idea to get baited into jungle, then get assraped by 3 or 4.

@NLTLjp That's not the best idea for everything... since you will be weaker in the first fights up top if you do that. But yes it is good for some runes and on some champs to do per level over flat on dominion even if you wouldn't normally on SR.

Akali, Poppy, Xin, and Shaco probably belong on your list of good ban choices. Shaco is a bit iffy but a good one can completely dominate the windmill.

Tip: split to capture the nodes, that makes more difficult to be interrupted, coordinates atacks, when someone atack one member of the team capture to prevent damage of the tower.

@dikkesappe You can get level 30 by facing bots purely. I have friends who are level 30 with less than 30 actual wins. I've seen people with over 1000 wins at level 30 who still don't buy wards and don't understand last hitting.

Level is in no way a tell of your skill.

Not all lvl 30 players are good. Some may know to play a certain champ, but a good player is one that exceeds in multiple roles, knows the current meta game, top picks, knows his weakness, gets CS, and a lot lot more..

@dikkesappe lol, frankly due to the massive champion diversity in league of legends it takes a long while to get used to all the champion mechanics and nuances that make you a particularly skilled player at the game. Most new 30's even if they do show an aptitude for the game are often not as good comparably compared to the more experienced players. This is simply because experience enables you to know how to act and react in the immense variety of situations offered.

Standard Dominion bans in EU are: Akali, Rammus, Jax. 4th one varies but often it's Heimerdinger or Poppy. :D

gah colby why did you have to recommend exhaust and not garrison -_- the amount of games I have lost because idiots don't take garrison and can't dive at clutch moments is ridiculous. If you think exhaust is super necessary then trade ghost out for garrison but don't remove it enitrely or you are just handicapping your team.

Priscilla's Blessing is an essential item in Dominion! IMO every team should have a dedicated capper that carries this item, along with Boots of Mobility. My personal favourite is Zillean cause of how fast he is with Time Warp. I won games just by annoying people with my constant back caps and running around, making them waste time.

Other good candidates are Rammus, Shaco, Evelynn, Teemo, Twitch and Janna. Anyone with good mobility, escape mech and/or CC can be a good capper.

hint.. you can easily comback from 100's points of lead... do this-... pikc good late lvl champions and win...when lvl 18 your team rapes enemy team and you win, even though you can be down alot of points!

another good tip wich i found... if you are tanky char not so much damage, never go alone so you can get 1v1oned, tyhen you are more the defender type, maokai/alistar etc... then you defend towers build tanky, carries can push lanes and put pressure on other lanes, even though you are 3 vs 2 in points, a good defensive is a good offensive... btw flash still works wonders imo! xD
