I think that you should invite everyone on your website or who watches your videos to send you something, much like the Wall Wednesday deal except make collections of it. But it in a book, a scrapbook,, categorize it into letters or items or gifts. Maybe have a theme each week. Good luck!

for me, community is a number of people, who got together, in order to make life easier and if you look back, even to survive..cause if there weren't any community, people would kill each other, starveor whatever.. But if you've got a community you are strong, you conclude agreements to keep your own liberties. Community means protection.

Having watched the lovely lady from projectXLNT, i must say i do agree. community is people interacting with one another in some way or other. However I dont believe that we as a tribe have to do anything specific. Communities usually change organically when and as peoples needs change. It will become what it needs to be. I think it would be really cool if we started dialogue between pogotribe members in a casual, non-discussion based way; kind of like penpals. Each pogotribe member would be assigned/designated (or maybe we would choose) another pogotribe member and they would use youtube messages to communicate. (We could also try to arrange the dialogue to be between 3+ members.)
I realize this presents a possible "stranger danger" problem, but I think that without giving out personal information and carefully choosing the penpal, it's no more dangerous than any other communicating we do on youtube.
By talking and finding common interests in other pogotribe members, rather than just discussing the pogotribe and topics that you bring up in your videos, I believe we would grow closer and become more connected as a community.

What is community? Community is a basic part of life that roles in a particular setting in life Why basic? Well their is more to life then community if we put all those parts together we get life.

what community means to me is people of a town, or a city coming together as one to help repair the broken ties of their home town or city and to bond as one.

A community should be people who work together so that they can survive. I believe that the internet cannot be a community. If you would, think of it as more of a really big group of ideas coming together to be judged and experimented with. Which, I guess, now that I think about it, could very well be considered a community (My delete key dosen';t work, I apologize, so I can't delete the stuff I wrote before) So, the internet is a community of people working together to survive, in essence.
I think real community is this direct communication with each other. Not the big companies and corporations that post videos and send messages, (whether it be for contests, announcements, whatever.) It's you or me posting a video to communicate with masses around the world and share opinions, rather than being limited to the people in the community you live in. The best part is youtube not censoring our comments, we can say whatever the hell we think and express it however we want.

In my opinion the best example of community has to be when everybody pulled together in the First and Second World War's.These war's were the worst thing to happen to humanity in the last hundred years and this disasterious event seemed to bring out the best in people :) x

My Sociology/Anthropology teacher says that that's what is commonly known as the "DILEMMA OF DELINEATION"
1.) How do we distinguish society from culture?
2.) Where do we draw the lines between a Micro, Mezzo or Macro level of study? Micro means small, but how small? Does two people count as a micro community? If a country is macro then what is the continent?

The root word of community is common. A common interest tends to strengthen and bond society... even things that tend to destroy the fabric of society can strengthen it through a common perspective... for instance, when a comedian combines humor with racism... the results of this are revolutionary.
Unity through common interest is the important next stepping stone for humanity.

Community: Individuals who are able to exist together and interact together in relative peace. But also the word invokes a sense of some kind of obligation towards one another. A great example of extreme community are communes. On the opposite end you have anarchy or libertarianism. In all 3 community can exist though.
I dislike the word tribe, it has a connotation of a limited population to me. It also feels dated. I'd rather you use "society" Dan.

Community is sunburn as you work a field for a neighbor. Community is skipping your McD's breakfast to donate ten bucks to the needy. Community is putting time aside and making sure its used in a dutiful and meaningful matter for the people around you - and not expecting anything in return but a little bit of self-satisfaction.
We should do a mural somewhere, guys. LA, maybe. Some city that needs some inspiration and some hope.

A community should be people who work together so that they can survive. I believe that the internet cannot be a community. If you would, think of it as more of a really big group of ideas coming together to be judged and experimented with. Which, I guess, now that I think about it, could very well be considered a community (My delete key dosen';t work, I apologize, so I can't delete the stuff I wrote before) So, the internet is a community of people working together to survive, in essence.

I think real community is this direct communication with each other. Not the big companies and corporations that post videos and send messages, (whether it be for contests, announcements, whatever.) It's you or me posting a video to communicate with masses around the world and share opinions, rather than being limited to the people in the community you live in. The best part is youtube not censoring our comments, we can say whatever the hell we think and express it however we want.

The community is if you subscribe and I dont really think that there is a defenition or "line" to see when the community starts. Perhaps it is just a personal thing. Like, say, watching each and every vid and commenting, or going to the forums. Maybe you should have a partner uploader? Like, that is a part of the community as an uploader.
