i wish we had more magpies around here. we've just got these stupid blackbirds that make the same incessant chirp in three second intervals, over and over and over and over and over and over and it drives me inSANE. it's sad, too, because about three years ago we used to have the most beautiful songbirds but now its just this fucking CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP over and OVER

Magpies are very smart, i watched a magpie test thing and they know about mirrors when other birds dont, dont worry my point is my magpie is smart it dosnt poop on me when i hold it, it holds its poop untill i let it down. =] SMART MAGPIES !

Wow! I've been looking through several YouTube entries on magpies and most of them seem to come from Australia. Doesn't cease to amaze me, though, how different the Ozzie ones sound compared to their European cousins. Magpies forever!
