  • @MsStefany123 If you don't want to use mobile data just switch it off in the settings. Go to Settings > wireless & network > Mobile Networks > Use Packet Data.

  • How do I know if my phone is using Wi-fi over the other thing it uses to get online?

  • @iXtcDrgn The Wi-Fi symbol which looks similar to a clam shell will display at the top of the screen. If the screen displays either GPRS, EDGE, or 3G, its connected to the mobile web.

  • how do u do open network?

  • @salwir77 What exactly are you looking to do? Do you want to open your wireless network so that it's not password protected? Any more information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • @O2GuruTV i don't know ho to biuld network?

  • @salwir77 Are you trying to set a wireless network up?

  • My wifi used to work perfectly before but now whenever i click on the Wi-Fi to start it, it always says unable to start the wifi. Could you please help me with that?

  • @indiajag1 We can try. :) What make and model of handset are you using?

  • @O2GuruTV Im using huwaei ascend

  • @indiajag1 First of all reboot the device. Also check the software on the handset is up to date. It may be worth trying a reset of the device too. Make sure you back everything up before resetting the device. Once these steps are complete Go to Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Choose your network, or add a network by selecting Add Wi-Fi network > Enter password > Connect. Make any difference?

  • @O2GuruTV i have no idea how to reboot it lol

  • @indiajag1 Turn it off then back on again. :)

  • if it says secured with wpa n u join n u put the right password n it doesnt let u join it disconnects u ?

  • @ilovemyJDMintegra Are you sure you have the correct password? Remember it is case sensitive and needs to be typed in exactly as written. Also check your router settings. Make sure it enabled to receive new connections.

  • Hi , I have a samsung galaxy s2 and I want to connect it with my Wifi but it doesn't connect, First I go to Wi-Fi Settings, than I turn on Wi-Fi and then I click at my Wi-Fi connection which is secured, than I type the password and The phone doesn't connect with Wi-Fi :((

  • @kristimanushi Double the check the password you are typing in is correct. Remember it is case sensitive and must be typed in exactly as written.

  • When I try connect to my home secure network, it says connecting and after a while says disconnected.. I don't know why, signal is excellent :(

  • @IFPSPortugalI Check the password you are using is correct. Remember it is case sensitive and must be typed in exactly as written. Try disconnecting from the network and reconnecting again. You may also want to check and possibly change the wireless channel on the router. Interference could be causing the signal to drop out.

  • @22captincrunch - I'm not an expert on this stuff, but when i enter a wrong password into either my laptop or phone, when trying to get a wifi connection, the device will publish an "obtaining IP" message and then disconnect; it then will repeat that process, over and over. Sometimes it will say "Limited connectivity" on the laptop, if the password is wrong. So, double check your password.

  • Followed your steps (actually I had already tried these steps). My phone connect to my wifi but no applications requiring internet connection will open. So, what am I not doing?

  • @hoseaj While connected to WiFi can you open your internet browser and access any web pages? Are you able to use the app's while connected to the mobile web?

  • @O2GuruTV Hi Dave. I just bought the samsung galaxy ace two weeks ago. Wifi was working just fine, now I can't connect. Everytime I try to turn on wifi, it just wouldn't show the wifi hotspots available. And I'm trying to activate it in both the office and at home. Any suggestions on how to solve this? Thanks.

  • @papirod1078 Hi there, hmm that's strange. Do you have any other devices connected to it? Are you able to remove the connection completely and re-add it?

  • So every time I go to connect it says it's connecting and says its obtaining IP thing but the it says disabled and I already tried to forget the network and retry but it says the same thing

  • @22captincrunch Do you have anything else connected to the wireless network? Try checking the router settings page and make sure new devices can connect. You may also want to try a hard reset on the box. This will return all settings to factory default.

  • If I don't have a data plan will it cost money to go on wifi and if I'm not on wifi and I have a Facebook tab on my homepage will it cost me??

  • @RidePowder4Life You are not charged anything on your mobile bill for using Wi-Fi. If you use the mobile data network without any data allowance then yes you would be charged at standard rates.

  • is connecting to wifi free or will it use up all my credit?

  • @dodont1991 You are not charged on your mobile bill for using Wi-Fi.

  • what if my htc doesnt even have a wifi

  • @Cubi1216 What model of handset do you have? If you don't have Wi-Fi you would need to rely on a mobile data connection to browse the internet.

  • My wifi connection says disconnected and secured, then sometimes it says disabled. I know the password for it, but still refuses to connect. What do i do?

  • @SweetTsilence Try removing the network and reconnecting again. What make and model of Android device are you using? We can then give you full instruction on what steps to take. Thanks. :)

  • Does it have airplane mode?

  • @thedogguyful Yes Android phones do have Airplane mode. To activate it go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > Airplane Mode. You can toggle this off and on here. :)

  • @O2GuruTV What about HTC Wildfire S?

  • @thedogguyful Yes. It can be accessed in the same way. :)

  • Can someone help me?? Ive just got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and whenever I try to connect my wifi to the phone, it just comes up as remembered and doesnt connect, even though Ive entered all the right passwords??

  • @VVxFan Try removing the network completely and reconnecting. To remove > Press the Menu key - Tap Settings - Tap Wireless & networks - Tap Wi-Fi so a tick appears next to it - Tap Wi-Fi settings - Tap the network you wish to remove - Tap Forget. Now try to reconnect, double check the password as you type it in. Remember it's case sensitive.

  • @O2GuruTV I had to upgrade my router >< Bloody netgear does my head in!! Thank you anyway

  • @VVxFan No problem, glad to hear it's resolved.

  • Nice video, I've a problem, some may know a solution for it. When I turn on Wifi it stays on for a few minutes and after a while it turns off automatic and when I check my wifi connections it says 'receiving ip adress from Sweex' and this is kinda of a loop, when I turn wifi off/on again it works for about 2 mins again. I have made an empty APN, mobile data off (I only want wifi) Static IP doesnt help and the strange thing is dat G3 stays on top screen...

HOW can i get a stable wifi connection?

  • @Jan0G Do you have any other wireless devices connected in your house hold? You could try changing the wireless channel on your router box, this would rule out any wireless interference issues. What handset make and model are you using?

  • @O2GuruTV Yes, I use a ps3 now and than wireless, 2 wireless laptops and my phone. The other ones are working stable. I am using a Sweex 300N wireless router connected to my internet modem. I haven't changed any other settings to my router, so yes, that would be an option, I shall try it tomorrow and I'll let u know. It would be nice to see this thing solved because I can understand that I wouldn't be the only one having this problem. I'll get back at this, thanks already.

  • Is it free

  • @jakksonmann You are not charged anything on your O2 bill for using Wi-Fi. :)

  • @O2GuruTV i know its dumb but on wifi does it use my data

  • @Sp3eDyTuRtLe No. When connected to Wi-Fi you will not use any of your mobile data allowance. :)

  • hey i got problem in connecting internet via wifi..when i turn on the wifi it connects to networks ,but still then it does not connects to internet

  • @mandarkadam9705 Try removing the network and reconnecting again. Double check the password when typing in and remember it is case sensitive.

  • hey i have a problem it keeps saying scanning! what now????

  • @mizuhozanch and @artz900 - Are you able to pick up your network with any other device? Try scanning for networks in a different location. Do you have this same issue everywhere you go?

  • @O2GuruTV :D i got my self connected to my wifi thanks guru :D

  • @mizuhozanch Glad to hear it. :)

  • keeps saying Scanning...

  • When I try to connect, it says it's connected, and the connection is good, but it doesn't work, when I try to use the internet. The computers are connected through a router, and the wi-fi service is in the modem. Could that be the problem?

  • @matt92hun Double check the password you are using when connecting to the network. Remember it's case sensitive. Try removing the network from the device and reconnecting. What handset make and model are you using?

  • @O2GuruTV I've figured it out, had to screw around a bit with the router, it works now, but thanks anyway. And sorry for the late answer, but I was on holyday.

  • @matt92hun how did you make it work ?? im having the same problems

  • @coxy455 The password was written on the bottom of the modem. Sometimes I'm a hopeless dumbass...

  • ty ....

  • @O2GuruTV When I do that it just says obtaining ip address and then after that it says disabled..??

  • @AwsomeSoda Are you connecting to your own wireless network at home? Try removing the network - Tap the Menu icon - Tap Settings - Tap Wireless controls - Tap Wi-Fi so a tick appears next to it - Tap Wi-Fi settings - Tap the network you wish to remove - Tap Forget. Now try reconnecting and double check you are entering the correct password. Remember it is case sensitive.

  • @AwsomeSoda Do what @O2guruTV said, i had the same problem as you and it worked! :D

  • ok, i don't have internet capabilities for my phone. will using wifi on my optimus cost money?

  • @L3G37VD4RY Connecting to Wi-Fi will not cost you anything on your mobile bill.

  • I updated my Nokia n 97 Minin and after that phone restarted and there is a message "Phone start up failed, contact the retailer" what can i do now

  • @TheGohar1 Have you tried hard resetting the device? These steps will delete everything from your phone. Turn the device off - Press and hold the Right Shift, Space bar & delete buttons all at the same time then press the On button.

  • the wireless box is a NETGEAR DG834G v5 and the ISP is plusnet

  • @xiMrSmithyx Try hard resetting your router by pushing in the reset button at the back. Hold it in until the tick symbol turns amber. This will put your router back to default with NO security on it and the network name will be NETGEAR. You must now access the router settings page to set up security. The address, username and password for this is on the bottom of the router. Once in here change your wireless password to one of your choice and save. Now try reconnecting your phone to the network.

  • No. WEP. Yes.

  • @xiMrSmithyx Ok, so if you can't connect any devices to the wireless box the issue must lie there. What wireless box do you have and who is your ISP?

  • i can enter the password but when it goes to obtain the ip adress it fails and disconnects it

  • @xiMrSmithyx Are you able to connect any other devices to your wireless box at home? What type of security is on the box? Have you tried rebooting the wireless box?

  • @xiMrSmithyx thats what happens to me too

  • i need ur help i can find wifi and everything but it won't let me access the wifi from my home router

  • @xiMrSmithyx Hi. Are you having issues connecting the device to your home router? Did you manage to put in your password?

  • @izaeuh1231azyqnr Hi. If you are trying to connect to your wireless box at home and have forgotten/lost the password then your ISP can retrieve this for you from your account details. Sometimes the password can be found in the documentation received with your wireless box. Check this first before contacting your provider. :)

  • please help my wifi just wont connect to my phone it works on my ps3, ipod but not my lg optimus 2x it connects for 2 sec then disconnects plz help

  • @robstar61 Hi there, try toggling the WiFi off then on. Next remove your network then re add again putting in password. To do this go to Settings - Wireless and networks - WiFi settings - Select your network - Press forget. What type of security is on your wireless box?

  • @O2GuruTV what do u mean

  • @robstar61 Switch wifi on and off on the device. Then forget the network and re connect again using the instructions above.

  • thanks man

  • I subscribed because I liked the logo.

  • @zurxath Thanks. :)

  • if you are having problems Some android phone do not like WEP-psk2 network this is a security protacal. the only way i have found of getting round this with the phone is to chnage the security protical in you wifi router to WEP-psk or WEP.

This problem occurs on a few android phones that run 2.1 - 2.1 update 1 and 2.2 2.2 update1. Main problems are on LG optomus ,Samsung galaxcy europa, and some of the HTC desire handsets.

  • i have a wifi at home and i know the password and i put it itnto my phone, it says "Connecting" then "obtaining IP address" and it will stay like that for like 2 minutes then it stops connecting. Any suggestions?

  • If you use the Internet on wifi it doesn't take up usage on your data plan right?

  • i have the same problem with @NihaNtkaNsara

  • This is the same password when an individual connects through wireless at home. It's usually mentioned at the bottom of the router. E.g. WEP key under our thomson routers. Hope this helps!

  • internet service provider? i need the password.

  • where do get password from?

  • my phone goes as connected but not allow me to use the internet .. I have a Mytouch 3g!....what i can do?

  • when i try to connect on LG optimus one it says Obtaining IP address but i can't browser any web page

  • @NihaNtkaNsara I HAVE SAME PROBLEM!!! WTF!!

  • I am astounded that people need this kind of guidance and are incapable of reading the manual that comes with their phones!

  • @GreggleztheGruffalo Im astounded that you searched this video, and then made fun of people who search this video.
