@DrknessRules Before the events of Deadly Alliance Mavado defeated Kabal and left him for dead, taking his hookswords as trophies. I think was just Jarek was believed to be dead after MK4. I assume it meant that everyone thought Kabal was dead.

man mavado is a evil genius!!!! he thought by sending hsu hao to kill shang tsung so he can kill kano. infact when he thought he killed Kabal he was actually still alive and he needed new recruits for the new black dragon Kira and Kobra. Jarek is just hiding so he can get information of the new black dragon, hsu hao was always crazy he couldn't fight shang tsung, the special forces, or moloch and drahmin. mavado plan wasn't that complete he really wanted to get rid of hsu hao.
