Glorious transfer!! btw, even tho' Lindquest died a couple of miles from me in Laguna Niguel, I did'nt know it until too late to make his acquaintance... And even though I've collected his recordings, I didn't know about the pseudonym. I was just now looking here to see what might exist after playing "Giannina Mia" on Edison disc by "Allan Rogers" What a pleasant surprise! Thanx for the wonderful upload!!
@Randidan Thank you for the comment. I would love to hear any information or even recollections you have of him. I haven't heard the Giannina Mia you mention. I have the 5 or so recordings he did for Edison that are on their website. Please tell me where you heard that from. Thanks.
@mjaymayer It's one side only, of Edison etched-label disc #80606; the other side being a nice job of "Gypsy John" as sung by one Chas. Robinson, a bass. You can find this name listed for AL in Allan Sutton's great book "Pseudonyms on American Recordings" -- the 2nd edition is out of Mainspring Press. Anyone interested in discographies and lists of this type should (MUST) check out their site or write for a catalog!!
@mjaymayer P>S> We will even have a copy of Bolig's volume of Victor recordings in the 20000/21000 series for sale at the CAPS Annual Show and Sale in August at Buena Park, CA. You could see how beautifully the Mainspring books are done...
@TorturedXeno I found it on the internet. There is a site that has wav and mp3 recordings of old Edison cylinders. They have the recording Lindquest did in 1920-21 as Albert Lindquest, his birth name.
